She's a sole proprietor with her shop on the main floor of her home. I've been having her cut my hair for about 15 years and many of my friends have gone to her for even longer. She's a little talkative (mostly interesting tho-- politically aware, a reader, movie watcher etc.) but she really knows how to cut hair. It looks good when you walk out-- AND it grows out well. That's my main bragging point for Barb-- even if I let it go a month too long, it never looks raggedy. Pricing is reasonable. Pretty easy to get an appt. Works late on Saturdays.

After many years and numerous bad hair days, I finally found Barb on Yelp and gave her a try. I am no longer looking for a stylist; she is the best. She gives great haircuts and can also style your hair so you look really cute when you leave and you don't have to go home and wash your hair and start all over. Her prices are very reasonable and she is extremely interesting to talk to. I hope she keeps on cutting hair until she is 100 so I won't have to go through that painful process of finding someone else!

Dropped in on a Wednesday mid-afternoon with no appointment and Jackie proceeded to hand out the best haircut and trim I've had in a good while. Since I'm always looking for an excuse to come to this area of town, the likelihood I'll be doing my business here just increased significantly (what with Pryde's, Beer Kitchen, Westport Cafe, Harry's, Julep and more in walking distance). $20 for what I received seemed like a great deal and I learned some of the technical side of the business thanks to some discussion. The not so good was the haircut itself- uneven fade, undercut way too high, no attention to the top and the barber cut the back of his neck, as well. It wasn't cheap for what we got- 25 bucks plus tip and a 2 dollar credit card fee. He smelled strongly of his barbers cheap cologne for the rest of the day, which might not bother some folks but had us both sneezing. I hate to leave a bad review and don't wanna call the individual barber out, but this spot isn't for us and we won't be returning.

I've had a hard time finding a stylist that I fully trust and she won me over! Haha! I will definitely recommend trying out this place if you haven't already. I had years of home bleaching and coloring and Rachel was able to even out my hair to a full bleach platinum blonde like a blank slate. The salon and it's staff was incredible. A lovely location with staff as kind can be. I had no idea what I really wanted going into my appointment but Paty went above and beyond to help. She brought a selection of colors, ideas, designs and accessories. Paty was so friendly, casual and had a cool attitude. Made me feel very welcome and like I had been in before.
