Now I can say without hesitation.. if you're looking for an extremely talented hairstylist, this review is for you I travel to KC often so I finally needed to find a local stylist. Choosing Emily was honestly a shot in the dark after researching a lot of blonde specialists in the area, but I instantly connected with her vibe and her after photos, and even more so once meeting her in person! The salon itself is adorable. The music is 10/10, which immediately makes the whole experience feel fun & relaxed. When I asked for a "sandy/beige, not too bright or yellow blonde" (lol), she completely understood the assignment. The color turned out exactly how I envisioned it. Honestly I'll probably want this shade for the rest of my life. I also really appreciate that she uses more environmentally friendly professional products. The rinse and scalp product alone will leave your scalp feeling completely refreshed! I could go on about how great my experience has been, but you'll just have to trust me and get in her chair for a consult asap! If you've been needing a sign, this is it! I got the hair color & extensions I always wished I had and you would think in 8 hours sitting with a hairstylist you'd run out of things to talk about, but Emily is the sweetest kindest person and so glad since my move here I did not have to kiss a single frog on hairstylists. I did my due diligence in researching the right one & looking at yelp for the best reviews and they did NOT lead me astray! She is a miracle worker & a true professional at her craft. You walk in to open layout ( love it, no clutter) and it's decorative & festive at each station. There's a back wall with shelves of products for purchase that are with the salon. When it came to booking my appointment, it was a breeze using online salon booking site. I needed to add a service so I called and spoke with Katherine, the receptionist. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and recommended how to schedule what I needed based on what I'd already booked. I'd met my stylist, Kierra, by chance earlier this week. I was extremely excited to experience her skills. Pleasantries were exchanged and we jumped right into hair color selection. We vibed! She helped me land on a color then we discussed my cut. I have to mention it's been awhile since I've experienced salon service and this was truly TOP TIER! We chatted during Kierra trimming my ends, which is all I wanted because I want to keep my length. She talked about where she was cutting and why. We talked about hair care, products I use and like, how to use certain products etc. Kierra told me my hair was healthy. Yay I'm doing good! Next to the coloring.. which didn't take too long. Under the dryer, welcomed the extra heat sensation! Offered water. Rinse. Wash. The color was t as vibrant or bright as expected so in counsel with Zaida (owner- fabulous woman), they recommended highlighting and not bleach. I'm guessing my porosity, but my hair didn't absorb too much of the color as expected. It could be from prior self dyeing which was over 4 years ago. Of course I was in agreement with no bleach and appreciated the explanation. So onto the highlighting process. Kierra is such a professional and very personable. Her technique is well seasoned and made me feel so comfortable the entire time! So in between all this I'm trying to keep warm, it was just a little too chilly but I'm always cold. Using the "Powder Room" was a pleasant experience too! It's compact but functional and stylish. There was a trifecta of luxury with Ouai Hand wash, scrub and lotion for utilization that made me feel like I was at a spa! If you can't tell I enjoyed my time here and after the highlights were applied and Kierra took such care in styling my hair and telling me how to shake out the cast and so much more... Zaida facilitated hair photo shoot.. I felt like a beauty queen. I LOVE MY HAIR! I'm definitely going back! All of the other ladies and stylists who were there, gave me so many compliments and hyped me up! I also can't say enough about Kierra.. she knew my desire , executed it, has such a great personality and since of style! Oh and she is a makeup artist too!
