Great place! Their film development service is by far the easiest and least headache in Seattle, and the dark room workers adjust the settings and stuff to make sure it works out well. I had some weird expired film I didn't know was messed up, and they were still able to get most of the details out of the pictures somehow. My new go-to place to develop films! I called ahead of time to inquire about their services because I'd never been there. The person I spoke with (who I learned later was Ken the owner) was super friendly and informative. He answered all the questions I had and provided me information on the cost and estimated processing time. There are plentiful parking and the store is easy to find if you're on the main street! Ken was wearing a mask when I came in. He provided swift service and was just as friendly and informative as he was on the phone. He provided me a quick folder to fill out my personal information and gave me the option to have photos delivered to me via mail as well. A customer who was in the store the same time as me was from California and opted for this option. I was in and out in less than ten minutes! The store was clean and has a great selection of cameras. I was always stressed out developing my films with CVS so I'm super excited to have found this place for my films! read more

I went to Shot on Film to have my 35mm film developed from my trip. It was $20 to develop the film to be digitally scanned and they provide a dropbox link in the email. Upon dropping off the film, it took about 3-4 days to receive an email from them with the dropbox link. I would give them 5 starts but I was a little disappointed that the folder wasn't more clarified. I opened the dropbox folder and it just said "blank roll." I was confused why there weren't any pictures and thought they may just be in the process of uploading. After calling them, I found out that my film was burned by the sun (I had dropped my camera once and the back popped open, exposing it). It would have been nice to receive a formal email letting me know that there was nothing on the film, rather than having to call myself to ask (it was my first time developing film here). Despite this, I came to pick up the negatives and get my camera checked, and they were able to explain how the film developing process worked. I was glad that I could troubleshoot and fully understand the issues. read more

I had an issue with my Rollei 35 while on a trip to Seattle. It would have been a HUGE bummer to lose the camera for the entire vacation but this place saved the roll inside and got me back out the door with some fresh color and b&w stock. read more

I absolutely love the store. It's beautiful. I mean for us film photographers this place is (almost) everything you could hope for. Not so pleased with the unenthusiastic man that seemed disinterested and lacking any care or interest in me or my questions. FYI it takes less energy to be nice and genuine. So 5 stars for the store and 1 star for the help for a grand total of 3 stars. read more

The owner of the story is great but the gentleman he has working for him is so unenthusiastic and when asking basic questions about a product, he doesn't even look he just says no he's overly entitled it makes it seem like he's doing you a favor by selling you stuff came in there to buy a nice camera, but just for the reasons I stated above I will be buying my camera from somewhere else read more

This place is great for anyone wanting to pay 50% more for film and used camera gear that can be found in multiple other BETTER Seattle locations. This place is also awesome if you love hearing someone spew false information about said other camera stores and their products in hopes of adding some kind of justification to the absolute madness of their own prices. This place is a scam. I went in here as I was in the area and had never been inside before, being in a pinch for some 120 film. I said "$25 per roll? Film is getting out of hands these days" as a passive way of saying are you are out of your mind?! The response I got was 5 minutes of continuous out downs on stores like Glazers In south lake Union and how they often sell "bad film" and "broken cameras". Well as someone that's shopped at Glazers for years and will continue to do so let me just say, this isn't true. Funny enough I found myself at good old Glazers a day or two later and when I brought up my frustrations with Shot On Film, they just gave me a little look and said "yes they have always been steep in price" didn't knock them or make false claims against their business. You know, kept it classy. Also the same roll of film was $13 compared to $24.99. The prices are one thing, and I do understand they are a smaller business than other stores, but being a decent human who doesn't use the tactics of put downs and false claims of fraud against others in a small community of Seattle film photography is where they lost me for good. Fair Priced Film & Fast Delivery Within two days of ordering the film, it arrived at my place. Additionally, the film I ordered was priced much lower than any other stores online. Based on the price, I was a bit worried the film might be close to expiration. I was wrong. The film doesn't expire till late 2021. Based on this experience and price, this may be my new go to store for film. read more

I'm from California and have been here multiple times when I come for vacation and I love this store! It's super cute and always has whatever I need. My recent issue with this place is that I ordered three Candido films from them when they received them and I got the shipping notice from them a while ago. Two weeks had passed and I hadn't gotten my film. I waited and waited and didn't receive anything. I recently went to Washington and stopped here to ask about why I hadn't received my film and the gentleman told me they didn't receive one of the films I had ordered and that was it. I wasn't offered a refund or even given the two other films I had purchased. I have since been emailing and calling them and have yet to receive word back from them. I really love this place but they've literally taken my money and haven't given anything. Not cool. :/ read more

Great place to find classic film cameras,camera accessories, and film. They can also develop pics too.

I want to like this place because it's a small business and there aren't many places to develop specialty film anymore, but next time I will be using a mail-away service. I get that it's a pandemic, but my god they need to work on the actual...business...side of things. 1) I sent my film in 9 months ago--granted the beginning of the pandemic-- but I think 9 months is a good bit of time to have kept my patience for. 2) It took several months to receive my scans. Ken (who looks like is the owner?) was rude to me about it over email and told me I had already received them. Turns out it was sent to the wrong email address and took a few calls to figure that out. Don't patronize, especially not when you're wrong. It's not a good look. 3) It took ANOTHER several months to receive my film back (and several phone calls.) 4) It has taken another several months to try to get my prints I ordered (and they took payment info over the phone for) but at this point I give up. A few of the other employees I've talked to were super nice about it, but at a certain point, nice isn't enough. This place needs a better system to keep track of things. read more

I've been going here for a little over a year now, all of the people that work here are super nice and incredibly knowledgeable. Their selection of cameras is great and fairly priced. I've never had an issue getting any of my film developed or scanned. Big fan of the shot on film store! read more

Twice was enough. Fairly speedy development but the employee interactions make it a touch painful. I'd sooner swallow my film, drink developer and fixer, then jump up and down until photos fall out. read more

Had an amazing experience at this store! I needed a new film camera and was looking for something with some features but not too complex. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a gentleman wearing a mask and offering his help, he walked me through all of their options for point and shoot cameras from vintage to more modern and then gave me space to browse on my own. He wasn't pushy but gave me good information on the cameras I showed interest in! The camera I chose he said was brought back due to the previous client struggling with loading the film so he showed me how to load it with an old roll of film that he let me take! 2 days later I brought in that roll to be developed, as I used it as a test run for the camera, and the process was seamless and they comped my first developing since it was my first roll used with the camera and the chances of the old film turning out are slim. Just an overall fantastic experience! I love my new camera and I will be bringing my film here to be developed going forward! Thank you so much! read more
