While visiting CoMo we were looking for a spot for dinner and something to do on a Thursday night…read more I was excited when my friend shared that Dive bar did free Bingo on Thursday nights. I honestly hadn't played bingo since grade school but was instantly onboard! We started the night outside on their spacious patio and made sure to move inside at least 10 minutes before bingo started at 7pm. By the time the games started there wasn't an empty spot in the house. There were multiple rounds over two hours and each game provided a chance to win prizes. The food was great we each got a sandwich and swapped halves. We got the 5th ward and a spicy pulled chicken sandwich both were delicious. We upgraded our side to the dive salad which was phenomenal and I would go back just for that salad! The service was also phenomenal there was one waitress for a packed house and she made it seem like we were the only tables she had. She made her job look easy for a packed restaurant. I can't wait for my next visit to CoMo so I can go back to Dive bar!

Deeply disappointing and concerning dining experience! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my…read morerecent visit to this restaurant was so troubling that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I walked in, the service was indifferent at best. It took nearly twenty minutes just to get someone's attention, and when a server finally approached, they seemed annoyed that I had questions about the menu. Throughout the meal, dishes were dropped off without a word, drinks went unrefilled, and no one checked in to see if anything was okay. Unfortunately, the food itself was even worse. My entrée arrived lukewarm and clearly undercooked in the center, despite being a dish that should have been served piping hot. Another plate at the table was missing key ingredients entirely, as if it had been rushed out without any care. The flavors were flat, the textures were off, and nothing tasted fresh. The real issue, though, came later. Within a few hours of eating there, I became noticeably sick--nausea, stomach cramps, the whole ordeal. I can't say with certainty what caused it, but given the state of the food, it wasn't surprising. What truly alarmed me were the visible health hazards. I noticed a sticky spill on the floor that no one bothered to clean up, even as staff stepped around it repeatedly. I unfortunately had to use the restroom while we were there. The restroom sink had grime built up around the faucet, a dead cockroach near the commode, and there was no soap or toilet paper. As we were leaving, I could see uncovered food containers sitting out behind the bar. These are the kinds of things that make you question what's happening behind the scenes. Overall, this was one of the most unsettling dining experiences I've had in a long time. Between the poor service, improperly prepared food, and concerning cleanliness issues. Now here's the kicker...there was not a manager available (shocker), so I asked for the owner's contact information so I could report the health violations and food safety issues. The waitress laughed and said "We've told him many times - he doesn't care and he doesn't allow us to give out his number. He wouldn't answer the phone and absolutely would not call you back." So, if you'd like to eat at an establishment where the owner clearly doesn't care about you or what you think, cleanliness, or food safety, you've found the perfect place.

The drinks were cheap and I could see my pals and I hanging around there for quite some time. But then came the bartender... A twenty-something brunette with a full sleeve of tats was on duty when I strolled in with four of my pals around 11:50. We had roughly 40 minutes til last call so my buddy went up and ordered two pitchers. The bartender told us she would not pour us two pitchers because we "would not have enough time to drink them". Immediately I felt bad. The poor thing must have had vision problems. I mean, obviously instead of a squad of college bros she had witnessed a group of prom queens stroll in. God forbid each of us try to take down 16 ounces of beer in 40 minutes, we might get HAMMERED. Anyways, we obliged. We took the single pitcher back to our table and slammed it, not to prove a point, but because we are not an ensemble of ballerinas who nurture a single beer for 20 minutes. So our friend goes up to order a second pitcher with a solid 25 minutes before last call. The bartender seems very annoyed. She clearly walks past him half a dozen times pretending not to notice him. After strolling by him a handful of time sand ignoring him she finally asks what he wants. She begrudgingly pours him another pitcher after he asks, and he returns to our table. With about 15 minutes left before last call our DD goes up to get a glass of water. He also waits a solid 10 minutes as she walks around the bar finding anything to do but go up to him. Finally, having run out of bs tasks to do she walks up to him. Before my boy can even ask for some water to quench his parched sober throat, she straight up says " NO, I'm done, seriously I'm DONE" and walks away super flustered. As if he just spit on her and called her a broad. HE SIMPLY WANTED A GLASS OF WATER. If you are having a bad day, no need to bring it to work and take it out on your customers. My friends and I were nothing but courteous. Anyways we slammed our beer and left that S**tshack pronto. Consensus: The bar has potential. The bartender who served us made our experience about as pleasant as getting teeth pulled by Micheal J Fox in an earthquake.

i'm so grateful i had the chance to come to this little gem of a place…read more there are certainly some...charms...here (indoor smoking! a certainty that no one has ever worn a mask there!), but i was able to suck up my liberalism, take faith in my double vaccines (this was before omicron was a thing), and enjoy a delicious meal. the mood was set when i heard a man order a jack & mountain dew from the bar, a combination i'd never even dared to imagine. i ordered the steak, with a salad and fries, and added a lobster bisque. after glancing around and seeing the plastic cups, i was skeptical, but held fast in my faith in restaurants with high yelp reviews. i was not let down. the ribeye was perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful and tender. no sauce was needed to enjoy it. fries came out well-done as requested, and were a wonderful compliment. the lobster bisque was also surprisingly delightful as well, with a nice rich flavor. i'd been slightly traumatized by my experience at sybil's, where the bisque was muddled down by rice (rice!), and was pleasantly surprised by this batch. as off the beaten path and sketchy as this place may seem at first glance, it is absolutely a spot worth revisiting again and again.
