My Dad and I are here today, Great place! If you're passing through kingdom city (or live there) and want something way better than fast food chains - this is it! I liked the old time, country atmosphere here. I wouldn't change a thing about the vibe. Our waitress (young, brunette, sorry I didn't catch your name!) was very nice to us throughout, she got our seats promptly, took our order promptly, helped me decide between two options, and was attentive to our table during our visit. Thank you for the great service. We had the pork tenderloin sandwich and catfish nuggets plate, both of which were delicious. My fries and Cole slaw was good too. Thanks for the great meal. Went here with family and it was a pleasant little surprise off the beaten path. Will be back again for sure. Quick and polite service. The selection of food is good and the quality is there as well. The cheese curds were great and so were the potato wedges but they did come out screaming hot so be aware there. We had burgers, fried chicken, pasta and a steak sandwich and everything was terrific. One of my favorite restaurants along I-70 between Columbus, OH and Denver was the Buckshot Saloon. I was disappointed to learn they had closed. Tonight was my first chance to try the Banded Rooster, the restaurant that replaced the Buckshot Saloon. I'm happy to say I have a new favorite restaurant along I-70. The Banded Rooster is great. We got there about an hour before closing time and were greeted immediately when we walked in. Our waitress and the service were excellent. My wife ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries and I had the peanut butter burger - also with fries. Both of our sandwiches were excellent. I'm a burger nerd and this burger ranks in my top 5 anywhere. The fries were the thin ones - I thought they were good, the wife thought they could have been crispier. Stopped in this old school country style bar & grill on our drive home from Kansas City, to St. Louis. What a treat. The motif and decorations inside were really neat, with a cowboy/country theme. Our server named Kaylin, was both friendly and very helpful & courteous with regards to the menu and her service. The food was outstanding. I had their BBQ Burger, which came with onion rings, barbecue sauce and cheese, set atop a double burger. There barbecue baked beans were also outstanding. Saturday at noon, not crazy busy but started to fill ip about 12:30. Side salad was good w/thousand island. Wife got the Ribeye Sandwich. She was a little surprised when the sandwich was a steak, two slices of bread and some spread and that was it..... She said flavor was great but would probably go with something different next time. I got the Buffalo Wings for my entree. There was absolutely nothing "Buffalo" about the sauce. More like a BBQ Honey sauce. Zero spice/kick to them. Pretty disappointed in my choice and won't be getting the wings again. I did like the Wings themselves and how they were cooked but was looking for something that had some kick. Service was good for the most part, but once the food dropped we didn't see our server again until it was time to deliver the check. The atmosphere of the place is nice, but I wish the TVs were a little bit bigger so watching a game was easier. Overall it was OK for a Saturday lunch. Will probably go back because this area has absolutely Zero quality dining establishments (that I have found) and this is the best of the limited offering available. read more

The peanut butter burger was a nice surprise. It really works. The fried pork loin is also really good. Nice size portion fried well, not dry or greasy. The only downside is the fries were so salty we could not eat them. This is a small place. 8 tables plus 5 hightop tables and a bar. That's it. Went there and had a great experience so decided to go back on May 24th. Big mistake. Pot roast had no flavor and the waitress was horrible. She even reached her arm above my head to open the shade on the window to put the sun in our face without asking us if we minded. So disappointing. No one got a salad like last time either. Was visiting my dad, and he had friends recommend the Branded Rooster, so we came. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. I decided on the reuben and fries. The sandwich was delicious. The corned beef was seasoned well and not overcooked. It was thick cut meat, too. The house sauce was good but didn't taste any different than any other reuben sauce or Thousand island dressing. The roots of this place as a dive bar are clear, but it was clean and bright and very full on a Thursday evening. All four of my family enjoyed their meals, and the server was sweet about splitting the check to accommodate business expenses. read more

A phenomenal find! The service was very good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, which was fresh and perfectly balanced. The fried pita chips were also fresh and walked the line between crispy and chewy so well. I had the ribeye sandwich because I couldn't pass up the local beef, and it was the right choice. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious. For my taste, there was a little much bread, but the boursin cheese was a great flavor addition! My friend had the Yankee Burger, and all the elements were balanced and so good that he had to finish it despite being full! A delightful find that I highly recommend! read more
