Worst service ever. The last several times my husband has taken his truck in there service has been terrible. This past time I dropped the truck off to get it worked on. I asked them to call once they found out the problem to let us know the cost. The person at the counter said "of course. We will call." They never called. When my husband called two hours after the scheduled appointment he found out they had already torn the truck apart and told us it would be $500. And they said they don't call anyone and only send emails or text messages after I was told someone would call. Who starts tearing apart someone else's truck before giving the okay to do so? We called another trusted autobody shop in town and it would have been cheaper there. Tried calling the next morning and couldn't even get a hold of Toyota to figure out next steps. I would not test drive any car there or give any of your private info because this dealer sells it to third party. We went for test drive once and now they send us mailer with really personal info in our other vehicles. I have only had the car a year. At first they would not fix anything cause I got my own loan. They would not take anything off as stated before they knew I had already secured a loan. They said that the perks were due to the loan in there finance lender. So they can't give me the load nor detail the car. They said they HAD to have me take it home before I got the money for them and before they fixed issues with it. After I paid they said they found nothing wrong even though I gave them a list of problems I noticed. I then took it to another mechanic and he wrote the problems to be fixed sooner then later. They still would not fix it. I got a lawyer and then they replace the engine with a rebuilt one. But did nothing else listed And said there was no other problem. The the very next day the alternator went out. Had it towed there. After they pit a revitalized one in. I asked about the drain on the battery. All was ok. To the tune of 800$ it was not covered. This year I get a text stating so called savings. I had, had surgery so I made an appointment. Took my car in just the rear brakes cause I had forgot about labor. I asked how much it would be they could really say may be 2 - 3 hundred which was all I had. I took it in at 2p got it back at 5pm they couldn't get my car in right away. When I went to pay they said 332 and some change. I showed him the text. He said it wasn't for my model car... They are the worst dealership around I should have gone out of town like my family said but my old car would not have made it. I did ask about the alternator when the brakes were worked on it was still under warranty they showed me a picture of the supposed machine saying all was good. I asked then why did I have to have it jumped twice before. They had the nerve to say that the did have to charge the battery all the way up as it was low. And that something might be draining the battery. No they did not check. This was what was happening when they put the revitalized one in. I guess they don't know what the alternator does.. if it is not charging right the battery will not charge fully. If there was a zero star that's what I would give them. read more

I have bought 5 vehicles from the shottenkirk name this last time I spent over 90k on 2 brand new vehicles in the same day but they couldn't be bothered to put a bedliner in or get our payment dates right. I was lied to about the total cost then. Now a brand new truck has peeling vinyl and apparently its out of warranty even though I'm paying for a extended warranty. I  went in for a simple oil change.  They give a report at the end of the visit. to tell you what they found wrong with your vehicle. They told me the bulb needed to be replaced in my Center Brake Light.  Imagine my surprise when I seen the bill.  Had I agreed for them to do it  $  368.93 .   To change a bulb. I  did my research online, And it took me about five minutes to do.  Can you say serious price gouging ?   And by the way the bulb only cost me $ 7.01 at my local parts store. What's even worse is I bought my car there .. Is that  the way to treat customers to change a bulb ?  A simple light bulb.  Will  O  count as  a rating. Totally disappointed read more

We saw a truck we liked. Drove 60 miles to check it out because it was a good price. Waited 30 minutes for them to find keys to truck. Drove it, said we'd take it for the list price expecting doc fees of ($150-300), tax, title & license; but then the price comes up another $5 grand more. They have HIDDEN fees for required warranty care and reconditioning of vehicle totaling almost 4 grand. By the time they're done, the price is over high range of KBB. I was truly surprised to see a low rating for this dealership. I read the reviews AFTER my purchase, and find it hard to understand. Here's why I give a full 5 Star rating & I don't often give 5, unless deserved. I was searching for a truck on CarFax. com looking across the nation for a truck that specially had the options I was looking for, one owner, no wrecks, title issue or flood damage. 3 were found in a nationwide search. I live in Houston, Texas and willing to fly anywhere to get the truck I was searching for. I found one in Sarasota, Florida that when I tried to make the deal, the truck had sold. That left 2. I've been searching for a truck that met my criteria for about 6wks. The other truck was in Salt Lake City, but priced higher than i was willing to pay. But I called them and asked, they were firm. I had a pre approval from my credit union here in Texas for $35k. Shottenkirk had their truck listed for $$36,990. I called the dealership & spoke with Dallas. I asked if he could do $35k out the door. He called me back & said he could. I spoke with my credit union and ran into a snag. Because it wasn't for sale in Texas, they could not help me purchase the truck. I was devastated. I called Dallas back to tell him. He offered to do a credit check and see what he could get me. I plead with him to ONLY check with one bank. (a previous experience at Car Max got me 11 hard hits when looking with them some time ago) He promised only one. He came back with a little bit higher rate than my credit union offered, but getting Texas registration, taxes etc could be done this was way. He emails me the paperwork. Now, this is a dealership, they are in the sales business, they are in business to make money. How much do you think they raised the price on the truck now? $0. Still $35k, including Illinois document fees. The only additions were 6.25% taxes, Texas title fee's. No funny stuff! This whole thing started on Thursday November 17th. Sunday the 20th, is supposed to fly out there and sign the paperwork on Monday. Shottenkirk Toyota was sending a driver to St. Louis airport to pick me up. That's 2 hours away!!! No dealer in the Houston area would do that!!! Unfortunately, the flight was overbooked and I was bumped off the flight. I told him I could not come until Friday the 25th. Now mind you, the internet can bring out a lot of good, but it can bring out a lot of bad or bad people. I had only called and spoken with Dallas the salesman. At this point a week later, I had not signed any papers, given one dime or a security deposit, they had taken it off the market... On just my word!!! I could have been anyone messing them around. Again, this would NOT have been the case here in Houston. A deposit would have been run, truck still on the market as a back up, etc. My son and I got in on Friday night. A driver picked us up from the airport and took us to the dealership. The closing of the deal only took about 2 hours. So, while in the finance office, we talked about my payments which is where I was comfortable with. They tried to sell me an extended warranty, I asked how much it would raise my payments. He told me and I said it was outside my comfort zone. He came back with a lower price, and I said even at that, I couldn't. Done. No pressure tactics. No continuation. In Houston, they would still be hammering away. Then they offered a gap insurance program. I thought about it, but in all honesty, if I raised my payments, I might need the insurance. But I was at the top of my payment comfort zone. I declined and that was it. Again, no high pressure tactics. They filled up my tank to the top before we left and last but not least, they paid for a hotel room at a nice hotel called Stoney Creek Inn. They went over and beyond for me. I could not have asked for better service. They were customer friendly and helpful in so many ways that I could not believe. This dealership is worthy of all 5 Stars. read more

Very poor business practices with low morals. My father purchased a car and paid $6500 cash 3 months ago. He loved his car, but after about 1 month became ill, went to the hospital and passed away about a month later. My brother took the car back to shottenkirk to see if they would buy it back, knowing he wouldn't get the whole amount, but they told him it was worth $341. Yes $341. My dad drove it a month around town. If the car is worth $341, why did they sell it to an 83 year old man for $6500. Looking online it says it should be worth $3800-5000. I would advise anyone to keep driving and buy your car elsewhere. read more

If I could give them a -star I would! We bought a car from them and were told free oil changes, and that if anything went wrong with the car to bring it in and it would be taken care of. Bought extended warranty, maintenance contract. We left to go home an hour from them... half way home look down and the car is on Empty!!! We have to stop and fill it up! They didn't even put gas in it!!! Had the check engine light come on & there was an issue with the steering, and needed an oil change..... we paid for the oil change they said we don't have a service contract only maintenance, not what we were told, we were told there was nothing wrong with the steering and no code on the engine light. Ooook! We left... ONE week later engine light is back on and the steering is still not right. Take it back.. accelerator pedal needs changed... 2 weeks. They gave us a loner.. ok! Cars done... did you check the steering?... NO we didn't know there was a problem... YES you did! Power steering module needs replaced... ok! We have to pay a deductible for one and all of the other... car is now out of warranty and maintenance doesn't cover!!! We have had the car 5 months!!! And if they had checked the steering 2 weeks ago... woulda been in warranty window!! Snotty service lady! Not impressed with this place AT ALL! We have bought 10 cars from Greens in Springfield thought we'd give these guys a shot! Never again! We will deal with Greens! Much better operation!!!! read more

Very dedicated (and persistent) to finding a vehicle for me. However, the reason for 4/5 stars is that there were a few minor things (cosmetic) wrong with the used vehicle I purchased that I saw right away and had to ask to be fixed. Although minor, they were things that should have been taken care of before the car was put on the lot. Instead I had to bring the car back (a 2.5 hour drive) to get it fixed. But everything got taken care of. Also, be aware of their warranty- as it is not as great as the sales associates tell it. For example; within 2 years or 200 K miles the AC is a part they will fix....as long as its not the compressor (which is what the issue is most of the time.). All in all, my car is running well and these guys are helpful. There are just a few things that could be improved. read more

Just got my oil changed and front brake pads replaced this past week, and you get a coupon for a free car wash just down the street. The price is right too, especially compared to big city rates. Went there to look for a vehicle. They were very pushy. Wanted me to drive the ungraded version of the car I was looking at. Tried to get me to take the car home even when i stated thay i would not be buying today. Felt very rushed becayse they knew i wasnt buying that day. They were very reluctant to let me drive more than one car because I wasnt buying that day. They got angry when we asked if the prices were negotiable at all and said that what they had already taken off was a great deal what more could I want. I took my boyfriend with me and they ended up consulting him 50% more than me and I was the one buying the car. NEVER BUY CAR HERE! I will never ever buy a car here again. My old car had gotten totaled buy some inexperienced boys and I needed a new car fast as my job requires travel. So, we found a car we liked at Shottenkirk's and went to look at it. It drove okay, but had some electrical issues with buttons, and was missing a side mirror etc. They hadn't put any time into making it look nice to re-sale. My husband and I couldn't pay anymore than insurance was going to give us so we told them our number and stuck to it. After an hour of negotiations and having the manager talk to my husband, we had tried to walk out three different times. We didn't need this purchase or the pushy sales people. They kept pushing it on us and trying get us to pay more than the car was worth. They were very rude and pushy. My husband kept telling them we couldn't pay more than what insurance was giving us and they kept pushing. Finally they came down to our price and the sales lady fed us some lie about how she wasn't going to get any commission off of this sale. Two weeks later, the oil pressure light came on and it looks like the car needs new engine altogether. My mechanic said they had to know some of the issues with the car. These people are crooks! They're rude, have no morals, and they'll try and swindle you out of everything you have. They also will lie to your face. NEVER WILL I BUY FROM SHOTTENKIRK AGAIN. I had a recall notice on a part in my car, I was able to make an appointment for it to be fixed easily, they had a very nice waiting area with coffee and fresh donuts, there was a shuttle available for if you needed to get somewhere while waiting but I chose to stay and wait, and I was in and out in no time, and they even went over everything in my car to make sure everything was working correctly at no additional charge. read more

Decided to try the service department because they have a "VIP" program with my employer. I called and requested an oil change. The person scheduling it stated "ok, an oil change & tire rotation". I clarified that I was only asking for an oil change - unless the tire rotations was included in the same price and was assured it was. They called to tell me that I had not paid enough - they were charging me for the tire rotation. While on the phone, they did not provide any of the details of the inspection. When I asked upon scheduling, I had let them know it was going to need brake work and I would like to get it all done at once. They had also found a filter needing replacement and did nothing with it. The VIP program also included a car wash - this was never done. When I expressed my concerns to the staff, they did not even acknowledge the issues & seemed too busy to care. I called in later that night to express my concerns again. This person at least sounded nice on the phone. She assured me the manager would contact me the next day. It has now been nearly 3 weeks and nothing. Their customer service is non-existent and ethics highly questionable. No "VIP" program will ever get me back in there again. read more

WORST dealership! Drove 3 1/2 hours with certified check in hand based on a purchase order sent directly to the bank for processing by their sales staff. Arrived and the sales department cut the trade-in value well below Kelley blue book valuations written on the purchase order based on cosmetic defects that they were aware of as we sent pictures beforehand. At least with their free Wi-Fi, we were able to find the exact same vehicle for less elsewhere! read more
