I've been using Showalters for many years. The guys are always friendly and do a great job. It is important to have large risers installed on your septic tank so it can be cleaned properly. Most septic tanks have two openings. The photo shows a riser made by Jensen Precast. Risers made from 4" or 6" pipe will not allow proper pumping or inspection. read more

I just called requesting help with having our septic tank pumped. The lady who answered was polite but quickly dismissed my request stating that they are booked till the end of the month even after I mentioned that we are backed up with sewage. So while other reviews had mentioned how responsive this company has been in the past, this has certainly not been my experience today. I was super sold on just the Yelp Reviews alone (WELL DESERVED!) but stellar customer service and with just a great job educating my family and I on how to take care of our Septic Tank & Cesspool. Jeff has an amazing memory (He did our property before {Before we owned it over 12 Years Ago!} and knows how to spot where a tank is buried. We found the tank on our first dig. Although his company doesn't do the dig he walks you through the entire process and recommends building Risers after he does the pumping. Having a septic on your brand new home is not really the greatest thing ever but having these guys on my side it really doesn't matter. Joe arrived early with a huge truck and soon discovered that it wasn't actually my septic tank but a blockage in the pipe that was the problem. Having had my septic tank and seepage pit replaced, as well as regularly pumped by a local Altadena septic contractor, I thought no problem, I'll set up an appointment with them to get my tank pumped. So, my appointment day came, no show, no call, and no return calls the next few days. I wasn't sure who to call next, as I always had a septic contractor. I saw that Showalter's had great reviews, and their phone number has been the same since the 1940s. I spoke with Debbie, she was very nice and professional. She called me two days in advance of my Saturday appointment. Their guy shows up right on time. He pumps, and shows me the bottom of my tank, telling me that he pumped it all. (FYI, this is Andrea, Dave's wife.) Is it okay to be in love with your septic people? Well, with Showalter's, it's not just okay. It's inevitable! Let me share my terrific experience. I had what I thought was a major septic problem, and didn't want to go to just anyone. (From what I've heard, there are a lot of con-people out there!) So, my plumber (Gene from GS Custom Plumbing, great guy!) highly recommended Showalter's. I didn't want to go with anyone else. What a great decision! Despite the fact that they were very backed up (har har) they found an opening and sent a team over right away. Joe and Josh. Joe immediately told me my septic was in good shape, and went out of his way to explain exactly how he knew that. They expertly removed NINE years' worth of gunk, and were done in no time. Joe even tried to fix my plumbing problem (which is what it turned out to be, not related to the septic) but my pipes wouldn't allow it. But, he told me exactly what to tell the plumbers, and he was exactly correct! What a pleasure to find someone you trust so much, especially considering how expensive replacing a septic can be. Year after year, Showalter's provides invaluable service for my family. Just the other day, Jeff showed up at my parent's place to show my mother where her septic tank was. This was no easy task since her tank lid was covered in about a foot of soil from years of yard work and neglect. This is a really great company. After buying a house with a septic system, they were the first company to come out and pump it for us. I made the mistake of not having the right area opened up, and the driver spent almost an entire extra hour helping me dig to get to the tank. It was super hot, but he had a great attitude, and did a lot more than he had to do for the contract. I can't recommend this company enough -- they are fantastic. read more

Very pleased the job Joe did today and the service from Debi in the office. My usual tank pumpers scheduled an appointment then had to cancel, but recommended Showalters. Debi got back to me within an hour of emailing her, set an appt for two days later (earlier than my original one) and called as promised half an hour before Joe arrived - relatively early in the two hour window.
