Who knew a toddler could enjoy store so much stopping to Barnes& Noble to get a book for my son and…read morewe ended up spending over an hour there because he had a blast!. The kids section was pretty ample and they had a nice little table and chair set up that he enjoyed just sitting down and looking at a couple different books which helped us make a selection. They also had some plushes including a very hungry Caterpillar one that he absolutely loves, which we ended up getting as well. The one plush did not have a sticker of course and the people behind the information desk were super helpful and. I ended up getting something from my mother at least while they were willing to go in the back to check stock because they were out of it on the floor and that you able to get me one. I feel like the prices of bucks are pretty standard as their prices are listed on. The cover is typically so I don't think there were any more or less out of line with other booksellers. They also happen to be running a sale at the time so the whole store was 25% off. Would hesitate to bring him back here. Maybe we can buy another book but as far as a retailer goes pretty kid friendly and the staff has always been super nice.

They usually have the collections of books that I want, if not I've been able to usually ship to store. My few complaints are that there are little to no outlets and some of them are loose(the charger slides out) and sometimes there is only 1 person at the register. I'm a patient person so I don't care, but I don't think that's fair to the workers.

Apparel was not folded but worse, was that the ceramic coffee mug was dropped in the same way...even with the bag sitting on the counter. Rutgers apparel choices have significantly improved since my last trip here 5 years ago. There are more tan, pink, mauve and other random colors to be found in addition to the traditional red and black. The logos on the shirts and mugs are also of a great variety. Most importantly, the sizes offered are from xs to xxl in most styles. Rutgers apparel and merchandise take up the front half of the first floor. The cafe is the back half of the first floor. Clearance merchandise and children's is downstairs. Upstairs, via escalator or elevator, is where the books are located.

I appreciate how many students the store hires, but they need more professional staff who know…read moretheir policies. Poor customer service! I recently graduated and bought apparel from the store. About 1.5 weeks later I realized that I probably wasn't going to wear it and went to the store to return it -- with the tags still attached and with the original receipt. The woman at the register refused to take it back. She said there's a no refund policy on sales items....okay but I didn't buy any of this on sale? I showed her how the receipt and tag were the same price, to prove I paid full price and didn't get any discount. She still wouldn't do the return, or even let me exchange it and didn't explain why. I wasn't about to stand there and argue with a teenager so I left. I called later and explained that I wanted to return items and wasn't able to, and was told that in general, the store doesn't do returns. At all. Obviously this isn't true, as I returned items before. The person on the phone tells me "I've worked here for two years, i would know that we don't do returns". I honestly could not care less how long you worked there. The receipt clearly states that you have a return policy. There's a bunch of stores in the area that sell Rutgers gear, it's less of a hassle to go to them instead of here.
