Great cinema, good atmosphere. Tasty popcorn. I've been to many theaters but i always have a consistent positive experience here.

Lots of parking and comfortable reclining seats. Although compared to the AMC, the seats are not that plush and don't recline as fas as the AMC ones, but for the prices specially the tuesday night $5 deals, it is pretty good. Also it is just 14 mins drive for us, so quite convenient even if we plan a last minute movie date. There are a few restaurants around the cinema like Chili's, Outback and Tavern in the Square. But they also sell food and drinks at the cinema. It is close to route 3, 495, and Lowell connector. read more

The service was great. We went to a matinee. We were the only one's in our theatre. The popcorn has changed. No longer the traditional movie popcorn. It's like a smart pop with a little salt no other flavoring. That was disappointing. I like movie theatre popcorn. They have an arcade, which is fun. Nice reclining seats. read more

Lots of parking available. Easy check in process. Reasonable prices. Comfortable recliner seats. I am not sure why but they switch on the lights half way through the movie which ruins the rest of the experience. Clearly, my loyalty didn't pay off when I decided to try their Showcase Subscribe program. Once my 3 month locked in contract is up, I'm going to jump over to AMC's stubs or Atom. First, you have a better chance of logging in through movietickets.com to purchase tickets because the app isn't quick enough to secure tickets even though they are pre-selected with a time-limit. Second, after securing your tickets, you don't actually "secure" the tickets until you arrive to check in and get a QR code to scan as your ticket. Third, if you're checking in at the showcase LOWELL branch, try walking around the parking lot a few times, maybe you can check in to get your tickets. Final step...wouldn't know, uninstalled since I couldn't get my tickets. read more

I would say this place was nice and I enjoyed the seats. Unfortunately, my seat buttons did not work (neither did the other three seats I tried as well). Maybe I will be able to update it with a five-star when the seats get fixed. read more

Good movie but there was a loud ass cricket in the most echoey room imaginable and it made all the quiet emotional scenes in the movie a complete joke. Asked for them to take care of it but they did not care. read more

Clean theater and good quality movies but what ruined it for me is spending $7-$8 on a soft drink and not getting a free refill. I've never been to a movie theater that doesn't give free refills on soft drinks. Not looking to spend $20+ on non-alcoholic drinks so I will stick with AMC. read more

I've always felt that AMC was a better cinema than showcase and would wish there was an AMC closer to where I live. Than the showcase near me started to upgrade it's theater and added nice reclining seats. Today I was close to the showcase in Lowell so we went there. This cinema looks great, has several arcades to play if you go early before your movie, a full bar for alcoholic drinks and the staff were so patient with us when we had to test the soda to make sure they were diet. I would recommend this place and will definitely go back. read more

The facility is clean, signage is well marked. Movie prices are within reason. However the snacks are ridiculously priced. We ordered a plane pretzel at $5.29. A 20 ounce bottle of water $4.59.. a medium popcorn $7.79. Spent more for these 3 items than the two tickets. Next time, We will bring our own snacks. Seats were comfortable. Sound was great. Movie was terrible. Staff is very helpful and polite and professional. Bar was over priced $5.50 for a solo cup of beer. My husband said it's about time there was a bar at the movies. He remembers sneaking his 6 pack into a movie. Bathrooms clean. Wish there were paper towels, I don't like the air blowers. Wish there were better movies playing but I blame that on Hollywood. read more

The seating here is really nice. This is one of those luxury theaters where you reserve a seat ahead of time and then go in and have a nice seat for your movie. I've seen a litany of films here: Good films (Thor: Ragnarok, The Disaster Artist, Blade Runner 2049), Bad films (Justice League), and bad films that are actually good (The Room). In general, each has been a pleasant experience. In addition, the fact that they do have occasional non-first run movie events is nice: the ability to see The Room here (with spoons being thrown/a gentleman repeatedly screaming "HOW OLD ARE YOU?" at Denny) was a nice touch The only thing that brings it down is that the concessions choices are a little uninspired, and the beer options are also a little uninspired as well. I really enjoyed this movie theatre when I was in Lowell for my Aunt's surprise birthday party. The town itself doesn't have a lot to do so this theatre was pretty packed for the middle of the day when we went to kill some time, however that didn't stop us from getting good seats. One thing I have to say though is absolutely do not book the first or second row. The photos are misleading and sitting in those rows means your neck is going to be in for some serious pain! They are about 10 feet away from the screen and the seats don't really go back, so your stuck with your neck up in the air and your ears exploding from how close you are to the speaker system. If you sit 3rd row or further you will have a great time. All of those rows have fantastic luxury reclining seats with tables, cup holders, and arm rests. The food in the theatre is great with many options. This is better than your basic movie theatre. read more

I love the new design, but it would be nice if they could dim the blue LED aisle lights when the movie starts though. It's a distraction. It's also too bad that movie theaters show television commercials. The movie going experience should be different from watching television at home. read more

I like it here. I frequent the Showcase Cinemas in Revere a lot since I've lived there for so long. It's a huge theater that makes this one look like the dollar store of cinemas but for some reason, I like this one a lot too. I like the small quaint atmosphere that it has. I like the layout more so than the other one in Revere. The only gripe I have is the seats aren't up to date like the ones in Revere. They are lower.. and therefor more uncomfortable. Ok, went to go see a movie i was an extra in this weekend. Given this place is the only option within a 10 mile radius of my home i figured i give this place another shot. Only slightly more disappointing than the fact that my fine method-extra performance was left on the cutting-room floor was, once again, the popcorn. I got a small this time. I asked the consession person not scoop deep in the the batch to avoid the dentist-freindly, heimlich-hero-producing kernels, only to be told they are prebagged. Yeah, like last week! Cool and stale. C'mon Showcase, this is an essential part of the movie-going experience, wtf?? The only thing that prompted me to eat the whole bag, (other than the price i paid for it) was the fact that i was slightly buzzed on presidente margarita's after visting Chile's just across the way before the show. I wont be going back there for a while. read more

Disclaimer: I largely despise cinemas because the cost of seeing a movie today is ludicrous, especially given that most movies today are usually crap. I will not give a cinema above a 3 star rating unless their prices are dirt cheap, which they all should be. This place was built around 1998 and I remember as a kid the first movie the family went to go see was Titanic. I was amazed. The entire place seemed like a monstrosity, from the ticket lines to the snack section to the theaters themselves. Everything was brand new and big. The chairs were big and comfy and set up stadium style. The surround sound made me go deaf for a few hours after the film had finished. The poor little Chelmsford cinema nearby came crashing down faster than a stack of cards after the Showcase opened! Fast forward 15 years and the place has slowly been on a decline. Prices have continued to go up of course while the overall quality of the place has gone down. Broken chairs, sticky floors, dirty snack station with popcorn all over the floor, I could go on. Why do I have to pay $6 for a popcorn when I just paid $30 for 2 tickets just to walk in? Oh, and I'll need 2 sodas which run about $4.75 a pop. I mean, seriously, we are talking about a MOVIE here. Something that in 3 weeks you can rent for $1. I can only imagine what it costs a family of four a night out here to experience a movie in a place that is aging amazingly fast. I remember for the first few years this place opened, lines could be seen out the door. Now on some days it is reminiscent of a ghost town. Unless they do a renovation and drop the ridiculous prices, you can find me up in Tyngsborough at the newly renovated and reasonable-on-your-wallet AMC. Or, better yet, the local Redbox! read more

This is an excellent cinema. It has tons of parking and a few chain restaurants right in the same area. It is RIGHT off the high way so it makes it a perfect meeting spot. The outside is very well lit so for a late night movie you can easily find your car and feel safe walking to it. Inside is always very clean and the people working have always been friendly. I don't eat junk food so I have never tried anything at the concession stand. Seats are about the same as most places. They offer tickets to National Theater shows, we recently saw a London production of Frankenstein that was amazing. It was like being there and worth the high price tag (still only a fraction of what it would have cost to buy the tickets in London) read more

Showcase Cinemas in Lowell is nothing special, but it is my local theater and I like it. This theater is my second place to see a movie on a regular basis (only behind Loews at The Loop. It features stadium seating and decent projectors and sound -- I believe it features two digital theaters also. I don't generally use concessions but it seems to have a nice wide selection of the standard theater fare. Prices are standard movie theater prices as well (overpriced). If you want to eat something, plan ahead and stop in at Chili's or Outback right next door. It is also worth noting the usual movie-goer is respectful of the shows. Some may take it for granted, but I've been to theaters and have been disturbed on multiple visits by other patrons. If you're near Lowell, this is one of the better movie theaters around, I don't think there are many other choices that offer stadium seating. read more

This theater has had the whole electric reclining comfy seat renovation and it's a great theater to catch a movie in the area. There's plenty of parking and they have a full bar which is cool and convenient. I've never had a problem with this location until this weekend when I spent $30 for 2 tickets to see a rated R movie and there was an entire row of 13 year olds behind us talking very loudly, phones constantly ringing, laughing and making jokes, getting up and disturbing nearby patrons, and making it very hard to hear and pay attention to the movie. I've been a kid before and I understand that this happens at theaters all the time, but when this issue was reported to the customer service staff they did absolutely nothing about it and nobody came in to put a stop to this like they said they would. Multiple people in the row in front of these kids shushed them but these kids were obnoxious. It was disappointing that nothing was done to take care of this matter and it was truly a waste of $30 for advance tickets online, the couple next to us mentioned that they felt the same way. Not sure how these kids even got into a rated R movie, it was clear that they weren't even close to 17 years old. Just a little disappointing. read more

Very accessible and convenient movie theater with plenty of parking available but the quality of the movie theater is poor. The rooms aren't big at all so plan on seating at least 10 minutes before a movie otherwise you won't be getting good seats, if any at all, that's for new movies though. The room doesn't have AC and it was packed that night. The seats are covered with fabric material which is super disgusting knowing the amount of people that have seated there. I wasn't impressed by this place at all! Keep on the lookout though, I have heard they are revamping the whole place. read more

The food is expensive, the screens have lines of discoloration and light differences and the seats are so dirty. Having fabric material to make up seats are old and can carry germs. Makes me wonder how they clean a soda spill sometimes. Another concern when I come here are the patrons. It's always a hit or miss with people speaking loudly during the movie or little teenie boppers making out in the corner. Here I am thinking what goes through their parents' mind when they drop their kid off showing as much skin as some stripper. Bottom line -- dirty seats, expensive snacks, crappy screens and you can literally smell the hormones in the air. This is why I commute to an AMC. read more

The staff is as disinterested as someone could be, and be aware of your existence. The popcorn is unnecessarily STALE!!! How can popcorn be stale at the movies? Bring your own, and if challenged, inform them that as soon as they serve "Fresh Popcorn" as advertised, you'll be happy to purchase it. The theaters are filthy and poorly ventilated. I've been to this cinema a few times in the last couple of months to feed my new 3D film addiction. Stadium seating, clean, comfortable, lots of leg room and (just as importantly) arm room. I've gotten the most comfortable 3D glasses here than at any other theatre as well. The concession stands are set up well and include a standalone Ben & Jerry's area and a large Pick-n-Mix. There's a sizable, modern, and impressively-stocked arcade yet there are strangely never large groups of stoned teenagers playing them; perhaps I just go at a different time than they do, or maybe that no matter how good it is no arcade has the allure of a XBox 360 anymore. Anyway. Conveniently located right off the Lowell Connector right off Route 3 North and right next to both a Chili's and an Outback Steakhouse, this Showcase Cinema is a good choice for your 3D viewing pleasure. read more

I go to this theater pretty often. They have a solid schedule, though not as many showings around 5 pm as would be handy, usually its the 4 o'clock or 6/7 o'clock hours, which can mean that you are waiting for a while. If the movie is packed it is comfortable in the theater, other wards a bit chilly. $7 Tuesdays are a great way to break up the week and their special events are fun, I really enjoyed the DCI event. Of course, concessions are ridiculously overpriced, and the no refill policy on the largest sizes is a bit frustrating given how expensive they are, but the flavor bar is nice for the popcorn. Overall, a solid local theater that I will continue to regularly attend. read more

The theater is not kept clean, the seats were noticeably grimy. I have had several rude interactions with staff members, one of the employees cleaning the trash cans accused me of trying to sneak into a theater when I was returning from the bathroom. They also do not offer free refills on drinks like every other theater I have been to. AMC in Methuen is much nicer and worth the extra 15 min drive. read more

This is a great theater--if you don't want anything to eat. Reserved seating is straightforward, and the seats are clean and in good condition. As we were leaving after the credits finished, the cleanup crew came in to tidy up for the next showing, and one man was actually going around and wiping all the seats down with disinfectant wipes. I was very impressed by that! The staff is friendly, the theater (including bathrooms) is clean, and the prices are the same you will find at comparable movie locations. So why am I only rating this 3 stars? Because the snacks are terrible. The young man was kind enough to get me popcorn as it came fresh out of the popper, and it was still mediocre. They give you a small amount of cheese with the nachos, and the chips were not very tasty. We didn't even mind the lack of cheese because the cheese was bland as well. Compared to other movie theaters, the snacks are quite bad. I'm not sure what happened, but if you are into munching on something with your film, you may want to think twice about going to this theater. If you do not care to eat anything, then everything else is great. read more

I see about 60-70 movies in the theater a year so I am picky. Years ago when I moved to Billerica I chose this as my go-to theater over the closer AMC Burlington and the Woburn Showcase Cinemas as the latter two theaters do not have stadium seating like Lowell has and Woburn had mostly small theaters also. Once Woburn got the recliner upgrade however I started going there for the reserved seating and bigger, more comfortable chairs. However, once Lowell got the reserved seating upgrade along with the bar I immediately switched back to this theater and have never looked back. I will admit I see a lot of the biggest movie releases in IMAX at Jordan's in Reading because, well, just see my lengthy thoughts on that theater here on yelp for my glowing review. But for all other movies this is easily my go-to theater. The stadium seating and bigger theaters and the option of the X-Plus theater with amazing bigger, better picture and sound, make this theater head and shoulders above AMC Burlington and Woburn Showcase Cinemas. The customer service staff are accommodating and polite but usually not overly welcoming at the concession stand but that is standard at all theaters with a lot of young inexperienced staff. I have always had great help from the managers whenever I needed one and I have had various different issues over the years and they have always solved them quickly for me. There was even a time when I was asking a question just looking for clarification and a manager gave me a free ticket thinking I was complaining lol. Once the Starpass system started I jumped on it an got many, many points and rewards before it was switched to the new system where I continue to rack up benefits. I also signed up for Showcase Subscribe so now I can see 3 movies a month for $19.99 with one of them being an X-Plus movie. I also still gain benefits with Starpass as well. I just left the Woburn theater last night as sadly that is where my friends wanted to go and the garbage was everywhere, spilling out over the completely full barrels because no one on a FRIDAY NIGHT decided to clean them! I was thinking to myself, I do not miss coming here. In Lowell, things are kept pretty clean, even the theater floor and chairs. I love the expanded menu from the bar, have you tried a flatbread yet? You can take them into the movie with you and they are delicious! In short, when it comes to this location of Showcase Cinemas, like they say in the ad, there is a lot to like about Lowell! read more

Should've known better. The Showcase website wasn't allowing ticket purchases, but was showing availability for the 3:15 Rogue One showing. Got to the theater early, stood in a long line (for the one remaining counter). But the movie times display behind the counter was showing all times and screens so i thought we'd be lucky. When we got near the counter, one person turned to the crowd and announced loudly that all the shows except 7 and 10 o'clock were sold out. When it was our turn, I asked the clerk; she confirmed the sellout. I asked why that wasn't posted on the screens behind the counter, or announced; she said "ask the manager", and pointed to a guy at the next register. He was carefully avoiding eye contact with the folks in line. Very disappointing, and we left. Seems a shame that they spent money on seat renovations, and a bar, but apparently no training in customer service. read more
