First let me tell you that we generally love your food and pizza. We actually frequently drive from North Canton all the way up here to get pizza, chicken and Jo-Jo. Which is why when we were having my daughters 7th birthday at the Akron Zoo getting pizza from you guys was a no brainer. The timing was great and the service was great as well. However, when we got to the zoo and opened the pizza for the first time we were, to say the least, shocked at the appearance of it. They were very small compared to the size of the box, most of the crust was over done, the amount of toppings was limited (some slices of sausages didn't even have one sausage on it, most had 1-3 pieces on it). Besides having the best chicken and Jo Jo's , their daily specials are as close to homemade as you can get. They have a wonderful selection of pies, cakes and cookies that you can pick out for dessert as well. When I do feel like cooking you can bet that's when I'm getting my meat too. This place is such a gem for the city of Akron and the Kenmore community sadly i never had a chance to try them when they were over on 16th street because they were a little bit out if my way but once they moved over to their new location at 2355 manchester road i have been able to have them now. I have never been disappointed with the food from showcase as usually from when i order from them i usually get a box of fried chicken and its so good and greasy but it is a tad bit salty if your not into that and what usually get is a 16 piece box of mixed chicken and jojos and in my opinion its priced very well also as it comes to 21.99 which is a deal i think compared to all the other places for that much chicken and it comes out nice hot and fresh. The other thing i like about showcase is how they have the deli part as well where you can get different meats and also things like coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad etc. The establishment is always nice and clean and well stocked as i like that the employees take pride in their jobs here and they are all so helpful and friendly as well. Once inside you're greeted by classic Americana eats such as pizza, fried chicken, jo jo's, wings, a bakery case full of fresh pastries and more. Showcase also offers specialty pizzas, hot sandwiches as well as hot and cold subs made fresh to order. There are a few salad choices on the menu but I have to be honest, I'm not here to eat salad (please don't judge). Today I opted for a meatball sub and it was on point! What makes Showcase a such a jewel is cost, you can easily walk out of Showcase with a crazy good lunch for under $10, not too shabby! To the rear of the market you'll see 2 show cases, one full of a nice variety of fresh tasty meats and another showcase packed with side salads such as ham salad, rigatoni salad, potato salad and much much more. Showcase also sells meat bundles for anyone looking to stock up the freezer. Like I've said this place is small but it's got all the bases covered. Showcase just keeps it simple and I like that. The market has great carry out food and a decent selection of eats to take home for a nice family dinner or cookout. Showcase also caters so next time you're having a get together give em a call! Have been getting chicken, jojo's and various other items from Showcase for well over 30 years with my family. Never had a bad experience at original location and if we had an issue it was addressed and taken care of with no issues, and was few times had ever had an issue. The move to Manchester Rd is great for them and their customers for being able to facilitate better due to the amazing growth they have had. Well the reason only a 3 star is due to the manner that Assistant Manager Craig treated a family member over the phone due to us having an issue with our chicken, it was more in the manner as to which he spoke, not exactly friendly or seeming to believe the complaint. This one is tough, this place truly has the best Pizza in Akron. Just phenomenal stuff, great meats, and terrific chicken. But I have to knock it down due to the very strict rule in place dealing with when you can order. For a restaurant that closes at 7, not allowing orders to be taken past 6 seems very unreasonable in my opinion for a place to tell their customers that preparing their food for that entire last hour is impossible seems a little far-fetched to me. Again, I absolutely love the food here and will definitely order again, but tonight I called at 5:55 pm, knowing exactly what I wanted, and was turned down on my order. I guess if I want to eat pizza past 6 I have to go somewhere else. I don't expect them to change their policy because of me, and in the long run I'm sure this policy helps their staff during this tough time, but maybe if by chance they read this they'll be a little more understanding when someone like me calls in to order the best pizza in Akron at 5:55. read more

Me and my wife went in to order a couple of chicken dinners and the one girl asked if we were ready to order and we said no and she said take your time and let me know when you're ready. Meanwhile the other girl was trying to rush us to order something and then she said we do not take walk - ins today. You have a menu that is lit up and hanging from the ceiling. Is this just for looks? This place need to work on the staffs conflicting customer service and this place should not have a menu up for customers to order from if they are not going to take walk-ins or is it only certain days you take walk-ins?
