I am very sensitive to smoke and the chemicals in scented laundry exhaust, and was being exposed to multiple sources of those fumes coming into a cupola window at the top of a high cathedral roof on an Addition to my house. The window had been stuck open since I moved in over a year ago. I couldn't get any window company to come to assess or fix it, but a general contractor and electrician both tried (one from the outside and one from the inside). Neither of them could get the window to close because of a small non-functional motor (intended to open and close the window) that was preventing it from closing fully. Air, like water, will find a way to get into even a small entry point, so the smoke was coming in, dropping down into the main living area and sickening me. Jack responded to my call later the same day and, recognizing the urgency of addressing the situation ASAP, offered to come to my house within 30 minutes. He was scheduled out for two weeks, so not hungry for work, but squeezed in this health-related job near close of business. It took 3 attempts (one from inside and 2 from outside, on the steep roof) but within 45 minutes he had solved the problem by yanking the window open, removing the motor and sealing the window shut. Hallelujah! Jack has a great personality and was extraordinarily considerate of my special health needs, including the necessity that he wear a Tyvec suit and face mask when he was inside my home. I got no pushback about that at all--just an understanding, cooperative and frankly caring attitude. What a welcome change from some contractors I've dealt with while serving as the general contractor for work on my homes in the past 7 yrs. He's definitely a keeper! I cannot recommend this company more highly! Jack will be my first call to deal with any further issues with windows or doors at my house.

Since that went so well, I returned to them this most recent July with an order to replace all my exterior doors and garage doors. Our salesman, Dusty, said that installation could begin on September 15th. Unfortunately, September 15th came and went, and no installers arrived. Dusty called me to tell me there was a problem with the glass I'd chosen on my front door, which wasn't available in the door style I'd chosen. This was frustrating, but understandable. We made new selections and set October 1 as our installation date. Again, the installation date came and went with no word from Rusco. When I called to see what was up, Dusty said that there was a problem with my garage doors and they had to be sent back. I pressed him for a new installation date, which he was unable to provide. He said he would call me back, which he did not. Weeks passed during the period of October through Thanksgiving, where my husband and I would call Dusty frequently to find out the status of our doors. He would bounce us back and forth to call installation managers, and with every different person we spoke to, the details were different. This door has arrived, but this other door is wrong. No one's story matched up. It was incredibly frustrating. Finally, on December 8th (today), I had several missed calls on my phone from an installer who was apparently at my house, ready to install my doors. I was astonished, as no one had let me know this was scheduled for today. I checked my earlier messages and saw a voicemail from the installer, who called me at 9:18 this morning to let me know the installer was on his way. I'm not exactly sure how that qualifies as advance notice, but when I called to ask why this happened, the installation manager was unable to explain, or even apologize. He even tried to say that he'd called me the previous week and left a message (I received no such message). To add insult to injury, the garage doors were STILL not in, and won't be until Thursday. Overall, I am appalled at the total lack of organization and customer service provided me by Rusco, and will absolutely not be ordering from them again.

Our 7-10 day project lasted nearly 8 months (from contract to final inspection). We did have two installers and the final project manager (Malachi) who entered the project in the last 2-3 weeks who were excellent. Kudos to them! Everything else related to this project was a complete disappointment. Falsehoods, unexplained delays, subcontract workers tearing up the yard/project space, then disappearing for months at a time, mismatched materials, incorrect materials, sub-par work in places, permitting issues and unanswered calls and texts to our sales rep, other project managers and ultimately Cook's president for several months. We experienced all of this and more. This company is not the same company from years past. They used to be reputable and reliable. Some of this can be blamed on Covid (that is why we requested that they not even start the project until ALL materials had come in - which we quickly found out was not the case), but the falsehoods, ultimate lack of communication, errors in ordering materials and the irresponsibility of the subcontractors that they hired was Cook's responsibility and could not be attributed to Covid. This company must want only one shot at your business and money because they surely don't do anything to secure your future business.

Four years later as my…read morewife was putting her makeup on the mirror came down on her head.(a competitor told us it was an inferior wall glue no longer being used) I went to them to report what happened and they told us their work was only guaranteed one year but said they would try to help us out. After two weeks it became apparent that they had no intention of making it good. My wife and I were in their shop and I told him not to bother because a competitor gave us a good price and would do the job while we were going to leave an appropriate review for them. The owner,James Washam, flew into a rage and ordered us out. As we were leaving he started shoving my wife towards the door scaring her. (Later he told the police he was only helping her out the door) . We filed assault charges against the owner which at this moment are still pending .
