Review for Dog Groomer, Amy Tardiff 5/27/2019 Amy Tardiff is a consummate professional who truly loves the pets she works with... I saw this the moment Amy Met our dog, Bella. Bella's backstory says volumes about Amy's skill: we have a giant, five-year-old English Mastiff who'd never been professionally groomed before. Making matters more challenging, Bella recently had three very difficult surgeries; so now she's skittish about anything that seems remotely "clinical". Fortunately she made it through all the surgery but now we needed help to bathe her I learned of Amy's mobile grooming service on a Friday from our local pharmacist who gave me her card w/great reviews from others. I texted but it was a Friday afternoon: So I honestly didn't expect a reply until the following week. I was surprised when I received a reply text just 20 minutes later. Amy conveyed she had just finished grooming a doggy. Could her husband, Shane, call back to set up a time and a date to get my dog groomed? I thanked her for replying so quickly and soon thereafter her husband called and we were set up an appointment on the following Thursday afternoon. I told Amy and Shane about Bella's history and they told me it wouldn't be any problem, Amy has years of experience working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. She also regularly grooms cats!! Upon learning that she even grooms cats, I thought Amy must have a very special personality and instinct. It's awesome when your expectations are not simply fulfilled but exceeded! The mobile grooming trainer is spectacular: with a walk-in tub and every amenity you would expect a groomer to have. It's comfortable, air-conditioned and spotlessly clean. (Amy had groomed several other dogs throughout the day before they arrived at our home that afternoon.) Amy was amazing with Bella! Shane, her husband, was fantastic!! He gave her some yummy treats and we were off to a successful start. A funny aside: Bella wasn't keen to go into the walk-in tub, so I went in first & convinced Bella to follow me. Before doing so, I first asked Amy if that would be OK and she said of course and true enough Bella followed me into the tub, then I hugged & praised her and then came back out. Amy slid the tub closed & she began. Also, since it was her first time being groomed I remained with Bella and Amy so that I could be sure that Bella wasn't going to get nervous because a dog that size (Well truthfully any dog in an anxious new situation can hurt people and I wanted to make sure that did not happen). So I just kept Bella focused on me by petting her and telling her what a good girl she was & scratching her behind her ears allowing Amy to give her a really good scrubbing. Not only does Amy have wonderful gentle shampoo for dogs but she also follows up with a conditioner and in the week & a half since Bella was groomed she's had no itching, no problems. She has felt like a big soft teddy bear (it's so nice to have her really clean again). You know there's some people that you meet in life either (both in business or personally) and you could just tell that they are the salt of the earth; good people through and through! I am delighted that I found Amy and her husband Shane. I learned Amy has been grooming dogs and cats since she was a teenager!! She has a deep understanding of animals and a very genuine love that comes across immediately. I just want individuals to think of what a challenge my dog posed: Bella is an incredibly strong 165 pound Mastiff. There's little you can make her do unless she is fully "on board" with it. After the experience of three surgeries in the last 18 months she's become skittish of simply going to the vet. (And our vet didn't perform her surgeries; we had to take her to a veterinary orthopedic surgeon. ) With all of that recent history it's sad but now she needs a muzzle at the vet and I was prepared that we might need a muzzle for Amy to groom her. I told Amy we could use the muscle if she wanted to but it touched my heart when Amy said," She's been through a lot. Let's take it slow and do what we can hopefully be won't need to use a muzzle. I really want her to enjoy this & look forward to us seeing her." Can you ask for better? After a couple of minutes Bella was enjoying the nice warm bubbly cleaning with that happy smile/ pant that I know most dog owners will instantly know recognize. The way Amy expertly handled our family's giant dog, who had never been groomed before & it was truly amazing to behold... I (and Bella) are looking forward to her next grooming session!! Our family will be her customers for life! On Yelp you can only give five stars. I wish I could give Amy Tardiff infinite stars!! read more

We're Very picky about who we trust to handle our pups. We do our homework and research and it isn't easy to qualify for the job. Our kids have always been groomed biweekly so we've plenty of experience to go on. We are visiting in the area from AZ so we had our work cut out for us in our search. Amy is overqualified in every area that matters to protective pet parents. Her grooming station is tops! Clean, organized and set up for a safe and comfortable visit. I saw the mobile truck in my area and took a look at the website. All of the reviews on the website were outstanding. I used the online booking calendar to schedule an appointment. I received an email confirmation immediately. The appointment was scheduled for 3:00. At 3:06 I received a text giving me availability for the following Saturday. I responded with a picture of my confirmation email and was told that they were having trouble with the online calendar. I then received a phone call from a gentleman that offered an apology and the Saturday appointment. I responded that I would have to rearrange my schedule to make Saturday work. I did not receive an email, text or other phone call to confirm, so I reached out and was told that I didn't have an appointment on Saturday. The scheduling process and communication is severely lacking. I cannot comment on the actual grooming because we never got that far! read more
