Call me crazy but I'm vegetarian and still managed to love this place lol their baked beans were so good! There are enough side dishes to make a nice vegetarian meal. I also got a grilled cheese off the kids menu. When you walk in, you can smell the smoke and it's divine! My husband got pulled pork with coleslaw and sweet potato fries. My husband and I stopped by for lunch on our way out of Kansas and while it was a little further from the highway than some other options, we were very happy we went the extra distance. We knew it was going to be delicious from the smell of the bbq right as we walked in, but it was even better than we were expecting. My husband got the brisket and I got the ribs and both were very good! They also have fried okra, which was nice and crispy. Can't say enough good things about our meal today. Juicy, tender well seasoned ribs and pulled pork. Crispy and hot fresh tasting like cut right out of the garden fried okra. Crispy outside and tender inside curly fries and sweet potato fries which were served with a warm marshmallow dipping sauce. Ooohhhh. Came into town late and we were limited to what was still open. Thankfully Shredders BBQ was since we really hungry. Ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich and thought it was average tasting as it lacked in flavor so the BBQ sauce provided really improved the taste. The sweet potato fries were nice and crisp and they even came with the marshmallow cream, which is new to me. Wow, it tasted like dessert. If I rated on service, I'd give an extra star since our server was prompt, helpful and very sweet. read more

The service was great. We had a couple people always available to get us anything. The food was ok I had pulled pork nachos and my wife had chicken breasts. I was a little disappointed at the initial presentation of the nachos. It's small but the jalapeño's look old and cheap. They tasted ok but they didn't look great. My advice, buy and serve premium jalapeños. It can't cost that much more and would make a difference. Anyway, we will eat there again as we got great service and ok food. read more

A nice, clean, friendly restaurant in a small town. Service is fast & the food is hot & tasty. What more could you want? I had the pulled pork sandwich on a hoagie bun & chips and am very satisfied. My kids were also pleased with both their meals (mac&cheese with corn and chicken strips with mashed potatoes & gravy). Thank you!!! Update: on the way home, both my kids thanked me for taking them to Shredders. My son said it was "incredible" & my daughter declared it to be "unbelievable"! Plain and simple. Velveeta cheese and canned veggies. Bagged salad and frozen pre made soup. I think they actually cook/smoke the meat here but the rest of the food seemed processed and fried. 4 star review because there isn't much to compare it to and not much better in town. The BBQ tastes like it came from the grocery store in a tub. The macaroni is certainly box variety. The nachos are Velveeta. Just about everything here tastes like it came from a box or a can. Nothing exceptional outside of fantastic service in a clean restaurant. read more

On our way to Branson, MO we pulled off the highway into the city of Parsons, KS for a quick bite to eat at Shredders BBQ. The lunch was amazing! In 20 years my husband has tried to find good fried fish. Today he did by virtue of the look on his face when he took a bite of the fried catfish. You know the look: "Mmmmm!" I had the brisket - a huge portion! Bbq sauce was delish! A very extensive but reasonably priced menu. I had homemade French Silk Pie since when do you get homemade desserts these days. My wife and I ate at Shredder's for lunch a few days ago. I had smoked chicken and she had pulled brisket sandwich. Both were "OK", but nothing to get excited about. The sides we had (potato salad and BBQ beans) tasted like what comes out of a plastic jar in the supermarket. Service was quick and good. We were seated right away by the owner. He was pleasant but not talkative. The waitress took our drink order right away and we were served in less than 5 minutes. The orders taken by this waitress were repeated correctly but we did not get exactly what we ordered. Even so, we did not complain as this was our first time and we just ordered random items to get a sampling of what they had to offer. We had ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, baked beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes fries, backed potato, chili fries, and onion rings. The rings were over done. The baked potato was a little small. The baked beans had green peppers in it and was ok. The different meats were good, but would have been better if they had been cooked with the BBQ sauce. A man who I think was the owner due to his picture being on the wall greeted us at the door. He threw our menus down on the table and walked away without saying anything. And I do mean tossed them on the table....I had ribs and brisket the others in our party had chicken fried chicken. The brisket was dry and the ribs were nothing to write home about. Being a smoke house I would expect them to sell their own brand of sauce...So I assume what they were serving came from the food truck and was not house made. Everything else was dumped out of a box nothing appeared to be hand breaded or made in house. We were hungry and that was the only reason we ate it. Avoid this place, I doubt it will be there by the end of the summer. The only plus is it was clean but if no one is eating there why would it not be. read more
