Just a heads up: it can be very icy, so definitely wear snow boots or sturdy protective shoes (I slipped a few times ). When you first exit Georgetown, there are so many signs to guide you to Guanella Pass (also unlike a lot of places, this is free with free parking as well). This is a drive so be kind and share the road. This is also a paved road so driving was quite easy. There are lots of curved spots to park your car if there's a view you are interested in. Drive at your own pace. Take your time and drive slowly because the views are amazing, especially in Autumn. There are lots of lakes so if you see a sign for picnic area, make a stop. Drive up to the top of the summit. It's chilly but the views are wonderful. My little fur baby had a blast.

Along the route are a ton of pull outs and scenic stops which are well occupied and used. There are also some campsites for those wishing to stay longer and check out some of the hiking trails. Absolutely a must see if you're scouting out the fall colors or looking to climb Mount Bierstadt.

They will not let you will up your RV with water although it says you can on their website. Make sure you fill up before getting to the campsite. Very frustrating to pull the extra weight.

Roomy enough for our RV, car, screen tent, chairs, etc. No hookups, but we enjoy dry camping, too, so it didn't matter. Loop C sites have electricity and water, but I believe you need to reserve those far in advance to get a chance to get one. Our site offered privacy, also, which was quite nice after visiting many campgrounds with sites right on top of each other. The only downside is that you can hear the highway noise. A bike trail runs through the campground which you can take around the lake and into Breckinridge if you want. Even with the traffic noise, I still will give this campground 5 stars.

Walk around the gate and start heading up on the road. You will eventually see a sign on the right for the trail and then start on.dirt or conditions now are snow So much billowy snow and trees!! Lots of beautiful views. We did see some moose tracks but we did not see any moose today. A gentleman who was running did see one however around 2.7 miles in. Trail is mostly snow pack up until 3 miles in. After that, no one has packed it or walked on it. If you want to go further you will need snowshoes and a map. It is just beautiful untouched snow as far as you can see and trees. It was a beautiful day out and very soul filling to be on this trail. This one is definitely a winner!

The next portion of the trail isn't well marked, but if you follow the asphalt road up until the 2nd no trespassing sign, it's there. Don't be like us and walk through the neighborhood instead (which was pretty, but not our intention). Also, this trail has a lot of scree, and beyond a nice view of the town, doesn't have much going for it.
