The owners were very friendly. We had booked an afternoon session, but it was pouring rain, so they told us we could wait it out and start later. They also do not charge a late fee if you go for over two hours, which we were grateful for because we got lost amongst the islands, and it was a difficult journey to find our way back and paddle against the currents. I was grateful they provided us dry bags and recommended that we bring extra layers. The weather changed really quickly as it was sunny when we started and later became overcast, rainy, and cold. It was very windy, and the currents were strong (at least for me). I also fell in the lake, so it was nice to have dry clothes to change into. Something that did throw us off was that the Google maps location takes you to the office, while the launch site where they actually have the rentals out is a completely different place about a 15 minute drive away, so we had to backtrack after we got to the office and read the sign with the correct address.

Luckily ran into a good samaritan who happened to work at SUP & Cycle. He went above and beyond w helpful tips and directed us to the perfect camping location! He was so nice that we decided to turn back after setting up camp to try their paddle boards. I've been paddling for years in FL. These are some of the best paddleboards I've come across. Excellent condition, stable and super comfy. The young lady that worked there (didn't capture any names sadly) was just as helpful and sweet. They pointed us to an excellent location with incredible views and we ended up there most of the day. These guys seriously made our trip! Can't thank y'all enough! Keep up the great work :-)

We entered Boneshaker with only 5 minutes to spare, just browsing. They carry 2 of my favorite bikes - Cannondale + Electra - so I instantly liked their taste. We were greeted by Dave (owner) who saw our MTB shirts and asked about the race. Then a fellow patron/rider came over and we chatted about favorite trails. Really friendly folks. Anywho, next thing I know, they're putting clip-ins on a full-suspension bike for my son to demo during the pre-ride. With barely a signature and zero deposit, my son walked out *on air* 5 minutes later, excited to demo another new bike. (Back story: He rides a hard tail but loves downhill and wants full-suspension even though he races XC. Since we aren't made of $ and he's midway through his teenage growth spurt, we aren't buying 2 very expensive bikes. So he's been looking for one to serve both purposes but every bike he's demo'd has been too heavy.) The bike was 4 lbs lighter than others he demo'd and he loved it. After sleeping on it and talking to our team mechanic, we decided it would be a good fit for his needs. Dave + team gave us a pretty good deal on the bike (a 2017 Norco Optic) but it was an outgoing model (making room for 2018s) so we already knew this was the time of year to score a deal. And it was a demo. Regardless, they took care to ensure the bike was perfectly tuned for my son's size, weight, and riding needs. Two hours later, he raced it and came across the Finish with a grin even the Cheshire Cat would envy. Win-win! Bottom line: Friendly, no nonsense staff. Very knowledgeable. We'll definitely pop back in on Dave + team next time we're in BV.

I enjoy my time here as everything is quickly in and out to getting things done. If you rent a bike from them you get about a 50% discount on the lift ticket. Are you tired of biking uphill but enjoy the thrill of downhill?…read moreIf so, then located in Winter Park, Colorado, Trestle Bike Park is just for you.It is a lift-served bike park.I believe I am qualified to write a review because I have been mountain biking for several years, and I have done similar lift-served bike parks at other places. I heard about Trestle from many friends and how great it was. My first reason for recommendation is that it offers a lot of terrain; nearby bike park Granby Ranch only has 24 trails and one lift, while Trestle offers 63 trails and 3 lifts. My second reason is convenience to Denver; it's only one hour and thirty-two minutes away. Making it perfect for day trips, another benefit is that it is well before Idaho Springs (a town notorious for traffic). My final reason for recommending this experience is its superiority to the other popular bike park, Breckenridge. From my experience, I found it to be crowded due to the excessive amount of tourists and other mountain activities. Another critical issue with Breckenridge is that the lifts all start at the base, meaning that you are forced to battle the crowds at the base every time you wish to go up. As Trestle has two lifts on the mountain. I would recommend this experience to a novice biker with experience mountain biking beforehand. Due to the amount of advance trails. Some things to know are that the opening dates can vary for the season. The location is Winter Park resort. The ticket price is $70 USD. Season passes are offered. You should buy one if you are going for more than one week.I would not go on a holiday weekend due to heavy I-70 traffic.

Our private tour of the…read moreDead Horse Point Singletrack on April 11th was a massive disappointment, largely due to Rim Tours' misleading staff and lack of basic safety protocols. Before booking, I explicitly called their office to inquire about the trail's difficulty. Their representative adamantly assured me that this was an easy, beginner-friendly ride. That was completely false. The trail features rocky, technical terrain. When confronted about this later, management simply pointed to the "intermediate" label on their website, completely ignoring the blatant misrepresentation by their own sales team over the phone. To make matters worse, we were caught in a severe storm. While I understand a standard "rain or shine" policy, we were exposed to active thunder and lightning out on the trail. A competent outfitter would prioritize safety and pull their clients off an exposed plateau during a lightning storm. Instead, because we had to end the ride early to avoid being struck by lightning, Rim Tours hid behind their cancellation policy and refused to offer any kind of refund or credit, claiming the guide deemed it "appropriate to proceed." If you value honest communication and your own personal safety, do not book with Rim Tours. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your credit card, and once the tour starts, you are completely on your own.
