My experience and review is for the restaurant ONLY. The Shrine Kitchen is fabulous! My husband and I went for a date-night dinner. We got a couple of the specialty martinis to start. Both were very refreshing and we could tell they are generous with the alcohol that is put in them, so at least you're getting your $14's worth. For appetizers, we get the beef skewers and a lobster roll. The beef was so tender; it almost melted it my mouth. SO GOOD! The lobster roll was also fabulous... generous portion of 8 rolls with huge chucks of lobster! For our main dinner, we ordered the deluxe sushi platter to try a variety of the sushi Shrine had to offer and it didn't disappoint. There were 4 sets of 2 pieces of nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, red head roll, and two shrimp tempura hand rolls. The fish was extremely fresh and was ready when we finished our apps. It was perfect for two people who love sushi! The service was really great as well. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our water glasses full and checked several times to make sure we were good or if we needed anything. The atmosphere is very romantic, especially since the dance club/lounge hadn't gotten busy yet. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it once in awhile! read more

I would definitely return here on a trip to Foxwoods. It's not Vegas, its not even close but I think you'll still enjoy yourself. Mix of top 40 and EDM when I was there. The crowd was pretty good, obviously there is bound to be at least 3 bachelorette parties on any given night. I really liked the outdoor patio in the back. They have a nice setup here. $20 to get in, pretty standard for this kind of place. They have a no in and out policy which made sense but was at the same time obnoxious if you are staying at the hotel. read more

Note: This is a club review only. I have heard a lot of talk about Shrine so what better place to go to while staying at MGM with my girlfriend? It is a place which hosts many great DJ's and it's the only club there so my expectations were pretty high. I have dealt with a lot of pretentious bartenders and have been given awful service at clubs here in Boston so it could only be better, right? WRONG. Clubs are not known to give good service because, quite frankly, they just don't care. For every person that doesn't get in there are 10 more who are trying to. But if it's a club/restaurant then it just makes the restaurant look like .... you can fill in the blank there with whatever derogatory term you wish. I am not going the event comment on the bad music (weird rap mixups with a random house song here and there) which they were playing that night because lets face it after a couple of drinks it doesn't even matter when your'e dancing. Or may the DJ just sucks. I am even going to excuse paying the $30 cover entrance for me and my GF even though we literally walked in at 11:02 and it was her birthday! (It's $10 for guys before that and free for girls). What I will not excuse however is the bartender refusing to give me a glass of water after ordering a couple of drinks and leaving her $2/drink tips all night. Listen I never expect much of a service when I go to clubs, but I do expect certain rights, such as some water without paying $5 for it. Are you kidding me Shrine? I have been to some of the other places the owner's of Shrine own in Boston and they have been better, but it put a bad taste in my mouth to be honest. I have no idea how the food was. We were looking for a nice meal before our show but made the mistake of not calling ahead for a reservation. And had the host said "I'm sorry we can only accept reservations at this time" I would have understood. He actually didn't even ask if I had a reservation. Instead he jerked me around for nearly 30 min while he exchanged glances with the other guy there. I finally realized they actually didn't want me there and had no intention of seating me. It just felt pretentious and unwelcoming and in the end probably not a good fit for either of us. But come on... You are a business in the middle of a casino.. Get over yourself and at least learn how to be gracious when you turn someone away from your "shrine". (We ended up at juniors which wasn't quite what we were looking for but the service was exceptional) read more

*Note: This review is for the restaurant only* I have been to Shrine twice now, both time have been very pleased. On Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights they offer a "Sushi Unlimited" promotion from 5-7pm. The servers are normally pretty good but have noticed with other tables and other reviewers even on slower nights seem to be a little behind yet I have not had this experience. They always have some type of food special or drink special going after 7pm during the week (never been there Friday-Sunday so I'm not sure about then). Considering the only times I've gone have been for the sushi, I cannot really comment on the rest of the menu. While the prices seem to be unusually high, I have frequently heard other patrons comment how big the portions are and say how delicious the food is so I guess the price inflation is expected for the type of location they're in. The sushi, however is very good- with an open air kitchen, you can see the chefs work their magic and if you get a sushi bar seat you are in for a treat as well. Everyone seems to be very friendly with the exception of the hostesses who on both occasions seem to be in a pissy mood or preoccupied with talking to a co-worker when groups show up (I've noticed this with other people too). Also, they are strict with enforcing the 7pm cutoff if you are taking part in the all you can eat sushi deal. It used to be from 6-8pm so it must have switched sometime between July 4th and soon after Labor Day. The servers let you know about the cut off and are very good about putting orders in so you can get it in time. If you do arrive after 630pm however, you are limited to only 4 rolls for the same price (which is still a pretty good deal but that seems to be a breaker for some). Those my only real gripes with the food aspect of the place but that is easily overlooked by everything else. I love getting food here and it is very conveniently located in the casino (MGM, not regular) near the guest elevators. Couple this with the hotel and it makes a really good combo. The Club seems to be relatively busy even during the week, but I'm more of a bar type person than a club. There are plenty of reviews for that below. As a side note, if you have the "Foursquare" application for your smartphone, there has been a check-in special which you can unlock at the Club. It says "Check-in to Shrine Nightclub on Friday from 9pm to 11:30pm and receive VIP admission. Show that you checked in on Foursquare! Admission subject to manager's discretion. Must be 21+ with valid I.D." I'm not sure if anyone here has used this or tested to see if it works but it's worth a shot if you're there then. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but this was literally the worst experience of my life. We bought a table for a birthday party only to have them refuse to provide us water after spending $900 for a group table for us. When asking the bar tenders it was "managements" decision to not provide tap water except a $9 bottle water. What company refuses to provide water while still allowing drinks to flow. Literally the worst experience of my life and I'll never recommend this place ever. read more

Love the Fried Calamari Crunch appetizer - so unique and absolutely delicious, I would go back just for that. We had a party of 11 - everyone was pleased and the sushi that I sampled was great. Mashed potato sticks were a big hit. Quick service and they were overly attentive. The "premium bowls" drinks are $48, but well worth it for 4 people, they're huge, tasty and strong. read more

So i went to Shrine on a Friday night it was pretty packed. We arrived late like 12:30 am. There were tons of older women dressed like 21 year olds. I will never get that 30 minutes of my life back. The club charges 20 dollars for guys and 10 for women. Grey goose and Red bull was like 8 bucks a drink i think,,, and i asked for water because it was so damn loud in there and my throat hurt from yelling... so they dont have tap water.. yeah okay... more like "we want your money so you have to buy a bottle of water instead". The music was crappy and a lot of the people were so gross. The staff was kinda annoying too... i dont think i will go back.... read more

Went to Shrine for the first time on Thursday night for the White Party...had an AMAZING time! The place is unmatched..the lights, the sound system, the staff, I honestly can't say enough about it! I didn't want the night to end, can't wait to check it out again! read more

Came again on Sat night. Service was ok, took a while, but at 9:30pm this place is still hoppin, so I can let that slide. We were still out of there in an hour. Shimp Shumai was weird... over steamed to hell first of all, and they top it off with spicy mayo (or something similar) then give you some creamy sweet and spicy mustard dip, which was just too rich/heavy. A side of low sodium soy sauce was much better to cut through all that rich mush. Seaweed salad was good, but different. Had a weird taste to it, can't really describe it, but something just tasted a little off... maybe too much of that sesame taste and the ponzu made it a bit saltier than I liked. Spicy tuna roll was very good... most places now mash up the tuna with the spicy mayo and create like a tuna paste, this has a solid chunk of gorgeous ruby red tuna inside, which i appreciated a lot. Spider Crab Roll... very good as well, wasn't saturated in 18 different sauces like most trendy places do now lol Given the fact that this is the only "gourmet" restaurant in Foxwoods where you can actually have a good amount of food, have a drink, and not spend more than $60, will still be a patron going forward. Though shrine was running some great seven dollar appetizer specials, the restaurant fell far short of satisfying last evening. Portions are small to say the least and very overpriced for the meals. House Pinot noir was harsh and not enjoyable at all. General tsos chicken was overlooked and very tough. Surf and turf with steak and a specialty roll was below average for this caliber of restaurant. Steak tasteless and tough, the roll was good but not a very large,portion at all. Service was average at best, music is techno horrid!!!!! Really bad atmosphere,cheapens the place immensely. Wont be back, have yet to find a decent restaurant in MGM read more

All you can eat for 20.00 not a deal. I eat sushi a lot and I was eating more rice than fish. The bar tender didn't even know how to order the special. Spicy tuna was dark. It's probably not fresh. I heard the food was good but the all you can eat special sucks. read more

The best food at the MGM at Foxwoods casino

I went to Shrine last night for a CDI Event (CT Liquor Distribution) there were 42 tables of liquor and wine. It was amazing.... but I'm here to talk food. When I got invited to this event I figured there would be some light appetizers so before entering the party my boyfriend & I stopped and grabbed a pizza at Sbarro's... Poor decision. Right when we got inside we saw tables of sushi rolls - TONS! My boyfriend went straight for it and I am so happy he did, that was the freshest sushi I have ever had. I was able to taste every ingredient in the sushi and saw the huge chunk of fresh fish. It was amazing! Then towards the back on the bar there were chafers full of gyoza, egg rolls, and lobster/crab rangoons. AMAZING! I couldn't stop eating even though my stomach was screaming from fullness. We continued drinking and the event was coming to a close around 8pm but the food didnt stop, we had passed appetizers coming around. Now I am from the catering business and let me tell you I will be stealing these appetizers for my menu! BBQ spare ribs in Chinese boxes, beef skewers that were so tender and calamari that had just the right kick to it! I loved it here. I have never eaten from Shrine in my many drunk visits to dance and I will definitely be booking a reservation there next time I go to Foxwoods :) read more

I usually go clubbing a lot in Boston, so going to a club that really is in the middle of nowhere seemed a little risky. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. I know a couple of people that go frequently so they convinced me to drive down and stay a night at the MGM. First of all the rooms are spectacular! So nice, with a view of the pool out back, it was incredible! Then we got dinner at Shrine upstairs, needless to say I am a huge asian cuisine fan and the food was outstanding! We ordered a bunch of different types of sushi for everyone to share. The sushi was fresh and SOO good!! We went straight to the club after. We got there a little early, but it was definitely worth it because we didn't have to pay cover since we were already inside the club from dinner. By 11:30 the club was absolutely packed! My friends and I pretty much stayed on the dance for all night long! The DJ played some pretty well known songs that were fun to dance to, but on occasion he would play some outrageous song that I am obsessed with and it was all worth it!! We had such a great time, ending the night with late-night snacks and walked back up to our dope rooms. I will definitely be back! read more

I was at Shrine this past weekend for my friend's Bachelorette party. We had dinner at Shrine, and then went back to the club. The restaurant was barely acceptable for the price. Our meal was poorly timed, with appetizers arriving at different times. One server came over with something for another table. The food was acceptable, but overpriced. My drink order was inaccurate, and it took forever to get a new beverage. The service was generally inattentive. A water glass spilled on the table and it took an extremely long time and multiple requests to receive extra napkins. We made a reservation for 8 people, and the table was too small, with 4 people crammed onto one side of a booth. I think we would have been treated better at the Fuddrucker's down the hall. We returned a few hours later to the nightclub, which was absolutely horrible. We arrived before they began charging for entry, thankfully. Even though the club was open and people were dancing, staff were rearranging large pieces of furniture, shoving patrons to the side as they walked by with lounge chairs and couches. It was bizarre. This seemed to go on for some time. There were many empty tables, but these were guarded by waitresses for customers who bought bottles. If you didn't choose this route, there was absolutely nowhere to sit. Staff were actually removing the chairs at the bar, asking patrons to get up so they could take them! The real rub was when I asked for a water. I had just paid $14 for a martini, and the bartender returned with a $6 bottle of water. I thanked her and explained tap water was fine. She informed me that they were "not allowed" to give tap water after 10:00 p.m. I've been to nightclubs in many world cities (Las Vegas, Hong Kong, NYC, Los Angeles, Santiago) and have never encountered such a policy. I cannot imagine returning, much less paying any entry fee for this establishment. In short, I would avoid Shrine, as a restaurant and as a nightclub. read more

Where to start? Well good news lady's it's free to get in before 10pm . We went on a Saturday night arrived at 9:45 and we were having fun, than 10:30 hit and suddenly we're being shoved knocked into drinks almost spilling on us several times and the worst part of that finally had us leave the dance floor was girls (cause that's how they were acting) who decided to stand in between my friends and i throwing themselves around and almost hitting us. People were trying to get on the floor and no one who was working there monitoring the amount of people on the floor. A girl was squeezing through and I said to her where are you going? There's no more room! At that point it felt unsafe so we moved our way through the crowd to the bar where we thought it would be better 2 girls were escorted out for fighting, a girl walked passed my friend pushing her n on the way back hitting her in the arm! Even the bar was getting crowded , so we left. Thank goodness we didn't pay to get in. I didn't even by a drink let me re phrase that I couldn't buy a drink! One bartender n like a million people. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a resort place. They did not have our reservation, and the hostess told us they were completely booked . We could take a seat at the bar. The bar told us to go to the bar down stairs they were open. We go down no one is there. When an employee from above saw us , he began shouting at us that we had no business being there. On the way back up we ran into the manager who confirmed everything we told him, and he was mortified. To top everything off the resturant that the hostess said was completely booked wasn't half full. The manager then corrected her and sat us . The food was ok. But most of the staff need a refresher on customer service. Will not go again read more

My husband and I went to Shrine in the MGM just after they opened at 5 PM tonight. This restaurant is beautiful. The employees were all gorgeous and seemed very pleasant, even though we were dressed in very casual clothing and probably looked like the type of people that wouldn't spend a lot of money. Our table was one of the first ones if you take a right at the entrance, and it was absolutely FREEZING cold there... like 65 degrees with an even colder breeze. A hostess noticed us shivering and went to turn up the thermostat, which was very a observant and considerate thing to do. We ordered a hot and sour soup, Thai calamari, and General Tso's chicken. The soup and app came out at the same time, maybe 10 minutes after ordering. They were both great. The calamari was tender and fried to perfection, and a HUGE serving, with a delicate sauce and nice veggie garnish. I would order that dish again in a heartbeat. The soup was very good.. different than typical hot and sour in that it was lighter in color, less "sour", and had a bit more thickening agent in it. Also it had a distinctly "chickeny" taste. It was different, but in a wonderful way. I expect a trendy and upscale place like this to put a spin on classic Asian staples. Here's where we come to the problems. Our entree took a good 20 minutes to come out after we'd finished the appetizers. The General Tso's chicken had a delicious sauce and a lovely presentation, with a very generous serving size, but it was so tough that I had to chew each piece for a minute or so to swallow it. We both kept eating it because the sauce and texture on the fried outside were so good, and discussing it later, we both kept thinking that the pieces we had eaten were the exception and we'd find the rest of the pieces of chicken to be tender and delicious. Even the cheap lunch specials at our favorite local Chinese place are always cooked to perfection and tender. I expected that Shrine would be able to properly cook meat. Two tables of people seated near us ordered sushi that looked incredible, and we were sad that we hadn't ordered sushi instead of a Chinese entree. In hindsight we should have told them that their chicken was like chicken jerky and ordered a different entree. Also, when our water glasses were first filled, my husband noticed what he calls "floaters" in his glass, of unknown origin. Our waiter replaced both of our waters and apologized immediately. Speaking of our waiter, he was a tall, dark, and handsome man probably in his late 20's. He seemed pleasant and charming. He was great, until he never refilled our water glasses, and then completely disappeared when we had finished our meal. We waited about 15 minutes just staring at our empty plates and water glasses. He finally did give us our check, then took our credit card and stood no more than 5 feet behind us gabbing with another employee for another 5 minutes instead of running the credit card. I have no idea why he thought that was OK to do right in front of us. If we had only had appetizers and left the whole experience would have easily gained a 5-star review. I would go back, and would probably order the calamari, plus a selection of sushi, and hope for a different waiter. read more

I went to the Red Lantern (the upstairs restaurant) and Shrine (the bar/club downstairs) for a bachelorette party last weekend. We were there on a Saturday night. The restaurant was ok but pricey, this review is solely for the nightclub. Price - Holy crud, really? A $20 cover for everyone wanting to enter the club after 10pm? This after the party I was with paid well over $500 upstairs in the restaurant. You'd think that they'd have a similar policy to other clubs I've been to that if you were there for dinner, you get to stay for the dancing... Definitely an overpriced cover charge for what is a run-of-the-mill dance club. Additionally, the drinks were overpriced for the size and potency. I am, however, ok with their strict rules about serving drinks. It helps prevent over-serving already obnoxious and inebriated people (I will elaborate). Music - I'm no stranger to clubs and EDM concerts, so the music suited me just fine. The DJ seemed to really like mixing tracks up, though. When you caught hints of really popular songs, you'd have just enough time to get excited about hearing the best part before it was mixed with something else. At times this made it a bit awkward to dance to. Atmosphere - I did like the lighting set-up and the cool effects this place has over the very tiny dance floor. Unfortunately, the dancing area is extremely small. Most of this place is VIP-only tables and booths. Imagine if you will dancing in the isles of a chain restaurant (let's say TGIFriday's), with a small dance floor the size of the entryway of said restaurant. That's about what you have going on for space and layout. For women - Despite this place having one staff member for about every 5-10 patrons or so, I was absolutely appalled at what the guys in this place could get away with. It seems staff is only concerned about the VIP areas, and the general patrons are left to fend for themselves when it comes to harassment and groping/molestation. This led to a downright predatory environment for myself and my friends. I and one other friend stopped drinking halfway through the night in order to be the people to remove overly-aggressive men from my other friends' backsides, as their protests went unnoticed by the men and staff alike. Unfortunately some of this is commonplace in clubs, but I have never experienced aggressive advances at the level present in Shrine. Perhaps it's this hostile atmosphere that led to there being many more men than women there. There were a bunch of bachelorette groups there, but by midnight or so they'd fled the premises (unless in the VIP area). Advice to management: Pay attention to all of your patrons, not just the VIP sections. If you put as much effort into making this an enjoyable establishment as you do maintaining the roped-off lines between us and your VIPs, you may get more women to attend. I go to a lot of clubs, and this vigilance really is common practice and quite frankly common sense. read more

appetizers were great (pupu platter) the spicy kung pu shrimp was well to spicy for comfort, i have been to many asian restaurants who will ask for the degree of spiciness... this wasn't the case here. the atlantic cod too salty --- disappointing ... the atmosphere was great but I rather a great meal than great ambiance. read more

Very disappointed when we made reservations they told us that we would be seated on the lounge but failed to mention that they were only serving the bar menu. They advertised all u can eat sushi but it is not available on the bar menu. A table of 5 was seated after the 2 of us and our waitress got their drinks and took their food order before she took our drink order. When she finally came we explained that we had tickets for a show and she assured us she would put our order right in. It took almost an hour to get our meal. We didn't get the discount we were supposed to get and the waitress never came back to take our payment. We had to go to the bar to pay the bill. Oh man. I went into this place with big expectations. I mean, what else would one expect from a place that serves $26 General Tso's? I had a few marginal pot stickers (with a pretty good sauce) and a bland duck bun that became ok after dipping it in the pot sticker sauce. The Tso's was horrible. I had a feeling I was in for something bad when it came looking as if it had been drenched in ketchup. Luckily it didn't taste like ketchup... Wait, I take that back, since ketchup would've been preferable to their sauce, a sauce that you only find at cheap airport Chinese restaurants. The waitress was rude. We informed her we were celebrating my brother's birthday, to which, and I'm not exaggerating here, she responded "eh". Still, I don't expect the quality of the food to put them out of business: the drunk idiots who flock to their club can't taste how bad it is. read more

I have to agree with the poor reviews. 5 trendy friends planned a night of dinner and dancing there. the manager meg said she'd try to work something out for us to get back into the club later after the comix show--no promises tho. We know the drill and dress the part as fit, trendy gals. The place was slammed with groups of bachelorette parties and groups of women eating and planning to ditch cover by getting in before 10pm. So we asked upfront before racking up a sizable dinner\bar bill about late night entry or discounted rate to come back.---that was a joke. they kept leading us to believe they were working on it. Then we were presented with a hugh bill and told NO GO on club dicount or favorable admittance. We would have to pay full cover, but we asked to get on a list after paying to jump the line later. --they complied, but we basically paid over $100 to get back in from 12 to 1:30am Later....the club was overpacked. I danced and was sure to push myself through the crowd wearing sexy strappy heels and a trendy outfit---but not without being stepped on and having beer spilled on me. Anyone not in a VIP section is treated like a 2nd class citizen. They roped so many sections off along the dance floor which takes away even more floor space and the staff is pretty arrogant. Yes, you have to pay handsomely for fiji water too, there is nowhere to sit except upstairs at bar which is mobbed too.---at 1:30am drinks are shut off and anyone without a VIP bracelet is forced down to the main level (like sardines so people will leave). Don't get me wrong...I was having fun and laughing at the tall, cute 26yr old bartender---asking him if he had any other plans to get a better job! In recap, the food and menu did not impress. I sent back an avacado salad--cause it was a a mushy blob with imitation crab meat and no taste. My martini was good and the sushi was fresh...nothing too special or interesting on the menu for the price tho. The staff is pretentious and arrogant which didn't ruin my night, but Shrine is not a place I'd return to tolerate either. Their club scene was filled with raunchy singles--average age is 25ish, everything is overpriced, they overpack general admittance and treat those patrons poorly. Guys rub up against or brush by you like horney goons. In my mind---Shrine should just make their club all VIP cause that's all they care about. I think the culture of management needs work if they are going to stand the test of time. VIP lounge areas can be fun---I've been there, done that. Overall Shrine is far cry from the higher class euro night club scene that they are trying to mimic. read more

This Shrine Club/Restaurant @ MGM Foxwoods business is very bad. We got a table there for a Bachelor party and was told that they need a credit card to hold. The bill came out $495 and we paid by cash. I went home and check my credit card statement and saw that they charged the same amount in my credit card. I called them back to get the charge remove from my credit card, but told that it would take about 7 days for it to remove. So I waited and waited and called them so many times up to a month now and the charge still not remove from my credit card. I also gave them the cash receipt. This is how they do business and ppl please don't go back there again as i'm sure I will never coming back. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Shrine has gone so down hill! I had an incident here where I was injured because of a fight in the club!!! There were 2 fights that night by 1230pm. I left with a bloody knee!!! And a permanent scar!! Management refused to give me my money back and after contacting there corp which led to their directer contacting me this issue still hasn't been resolved months later! I went to Shrine for New Year's Ever (2009-10), worst experience ever. My friends and I paid $75 each for our ticket to get in, only to be charged $10 a drink inside. I don't mind paying a higher price for a drink if it's a good club, but this was far from it. We asked for 3 Soco and Lime shots, and somehow the bartender put 3 Patron shots in front of us. When we told her they were the wrong shots, she got nasty and insisted that we ordered Patron and made us pay for them. Any other bartender at any half decent establishment would have just made three new shots and called it a day, this one was down right rude. A $75 cover charge and $10 for a crappy drink just to be treated like that by the staff?!? I don't think so... On top of that, they crowded more people into that small space than I would have ever thought possible. It got so bad at one point we felt as though safety was at risk. I've been to a lot of over-crowded clubs before but this was unlike anything I had ever experienced. As we tried to get the heck out of that death trap, we could barely make our way out the door because the bouncers were herding MORE people in despite the fact that there was nowhere for them to go. We were only in Shrine for a toal of 20 minutes and immediately called the credit card company and had them deny the charges for the ticket cost (no way in hell are we paying for that experience). I'm glad we did as I sent the manager John an email letting him know what happened, 3 days have gone by with no response. I was just relaying this story to a co-worker of mine who told me last time she went there the bouncers made her wait in line for ages and flat out told her the reason she was waiting was because having a line created a good image for the club, and if she didn't like it she could leave. This place is a joke...and not worth a cent of the fortune you will spend here. Flew up to Foxwoods Resort Casino to check out their club Shrine Foxwoods to see Max Styler who is playing at our club in Orlando...We show up with a $900 minimum spend and were excited to come check this place out...well first the VIP area was not up to par. They put us at the "best table" that I guess also doubled as a storage unit since they had empty co2 tanks, decorations, and a ton of random items in our booth area...next we purchased 2 bottles to start and decided to make our own cocktails until we were stopped by security for touching the bottles we just paid for...next all we could hear was a broken speaker on the end of the dance floor that kept rattling (get that fixed ASAP). Cocktail server was nice but played security instead of cocktail waitress since I guess we were having too much fun for the 100 total people that were there...next they sold us a bottle at 1240am yet didn't mention all liquor gets picked up at 1245am so we had the bottle for a whopping 4 minutes and still were charged full price...the managers response was we should know the laws of the state we are in! He was absolutely no help...finally the place setup and layout is not good at all. Don't waste your time read more

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star. Extremely disappointed. My husband, best friend and I were looking for a great place to celebrate Halloween. We don't go out often because we are parents. So we wanted to go "all out". We saw a flyer for shrine for Friday night Halloween party. On the flyer there was a Costume contest advertised. We made our costumes, and spent a lot of money doing so... we thought this would be a perfect match for our hopes of an amazing, stress free, fun night out. We reserved a VIP table which was supposed to include one bottle. When we called, we were told the table we selected would be around $300 which included the table, bottle, and bottle service. We arrived at about 12. The man at the front door sassed us about our ids. (Unprofessional) we were then sat at our table in which we waited over 30 mins for our bottle. (Unprofessional) The "bottle GIRL" was a snob. She was around anytime we pulled our money out but disappeared when it went back in our pockets. The bottle we thought we were paying $300 for ended up being $380. We kept asking bartenders, hosts, bottle girls when the costume contest was and what were the terms. Every person answered "I don't know". (Unprofessional). All of these things were unprofessional, but we were trying to have a good time so at the time we brushed it off. When the bottle was brought to us it was already open. (I have never in my life paid +$300 for a bottle that was ALREADY OPEN) again, we didn't mention it because we were just trying to relax and enjoy the night. We each had 2 drinks totaling in 6. Mind you the cups are small (I would say regular size) for a bottle that big we should have been able to pour WAY MORE than 6 of those cups. We went out to the balcony to smoke, bringing the bottle that we paid $380 for out with us. Right away, another "girl" came up to us, very rudely telling us we weren't allowed to do that and snatched the bottle out of my hands and disappeared. When we went back to the table, our bottle was EMPTY. A VIP table next to us, walked over and said "hey we're leaving, we paid a lot for this bottle but have to leave now, would you like it?" Of course we took the offer. Within two minutes, our "bottle girl" came up to us and snatched this bottle out of my hand as well. She said "where did you get that?" We answered with truth that it was paid for and given to us. She got VERY EXTREMELY NASTY AND RUDE, and answered "well you can't do that and I need to take it from you". When I asked "why what's the problem?" She AGAIN got very nasty "because I said you can't" she then rolled her eyes. Grabbed our empty bottle sitting on our table and walked off with BOTH bottles. The "manager" was standing right next to me as his nasty little employee was going on her rant. When the bottle girl walked away, I turned to him to explain the situation. I believe his name was Benjamin. He said "let me see what I can do for you I will be right back". We stood there for about 15 mins, with no drinks, no bottles, and decided we weren't going to be helped and we decided to leave. When walking out, mr. Manager was standing at the door laughing and chatting away. I very politely told him we would be leaving and never returning due to the lack of customer service. He handed me his card explaining "I'll hook you up, next time" what a joke. Spent well over 1,200 for ONE NIGHT. And has a total of 6 drinks, nasty attitudes, snobby attitudes, and I had a sense that every employee in that place felt and acted they were above the customers. I was disgusted, disappointed, turned off, and I could have put everything else under the carpet except that ONE bottle girl. Her attitude was so terrible that she was the reason we left, and will NEVER return. Who pays $380 for 6 drinks. NEVER IN MY LIFE AGAIN WILL I RETURN HERE. Our bottle girl was tipped minimum gratuity. Which I believe was around 60$. Had she been respectful, and good at her job with great customer service we were planning on tipping $200. We had a lot of money that we planned to spend (that we saved for weeks) this night, but her nasty disgusting attitude and sense of entitlement got her the minimum tip. Mohegan is WAY BETTER! always great customer service and you get what you deserve. Also, keep in mind, they definitely false advertise on the flyer just to get people in the door. read more
