Wanted to try something new and found this gem. Looking from the outside it doesn't look like much but once you walk through the door it gives you the small town vibe where everyone knows everyone. OMG amazing!!!! It doesn't look like much from the outside but WOW!! I got a Reuben with a side of pasta salad and it just might be the best I have ever had!! I had a red velvet cupcake for dessert and it was phenomenal as well! It is a pretty small spot and it did get a bit busy as it was lunchtime, but the service was great and the staff was so friendly! What a pleasant surprise in this little gem! Worth the drive off the beaten path from the highway. Had a late lunch and everything was delicious and very reasonably priced for large servings. We are new to this town as a business and after just the second time of placing a to-go order, they already knew my name and order by heart. There is something to say about a small town feel and the kindness that goes along with it. I'm a vegan and my choices are slim around town but I was able to find a fresh veggie sandwich here - the guys at the office rave about many of their sandwiches that are packed with ingredients. We stopped in on the recommendation of a nearby gentleman farmer we met after visiting Beidler Forest and couldn't have been happier. It is a small storefront in a small town but has an impressive menu. My daughter loved her ultimate grilled cheese with bacon, my son loved his French Dip, and I loved my tuna sandwich (that the farmer recommended.) Heard about Just Desserts from our banker in Charleston. Apparently it's a must stop on her way to the upstate. We live only a few minutes away and had never heard of this place so my daughter and I decided to give it a try. It is very small - less than a dozen tables - but seems to have a very loyal, regular clientele. The ladies who serve you seemed to know everyone by name. The menu is very complete for a cafe this small with hot and cold deli sandwiches, soups, salads and paninis. My daughter ordered the buffalo wrap and I had the New Yorker. She thoroughly enjoyed hers. It had just the right amount of sauce with the slightest kick of heat at the end (she ordered the mild). Mine was a grilled pastrami, corned beef and Swiss on rye. It was perfect. Some of the best corned beef and pastrami I've had outside New York ( seriously). We both finished with a sweet treat. She had a red velvet cupcake that she enjoyed. She often will discard the icing on cupcakes, but she thought this was perfect. I had a cinnamon twist donut as it was national donut day. It was a perfect compliment to the lunch. All in all it was a great experience. I suspect by the end of summer they'll know our names too. read more
