I had a not so good experience at other Armenian dance studios with unfairness, body shaming, disrespect, and to be honest an overall lack of dance knowledge. I wanted to get back into Armenian dance and was recommended Hayastan Cultural Center. Hayastan has literally everything you would want for your child and for yourself ! They have proper discipline while being fair, all of the teachers are so knowledgeable, you can also grow within your role. They definitely push you and you would have to put some work and effort into it, commitment is key. You should look forward to going to class and it shouldn't be something that you dread or feels like a chore. I was only there for a short amount of time but it made a lasting impression on me. They have various genres, themes, and new exciting choreography every week. If you're doing a Ukrainian dance for example or a Georgian dance, they get it right on the dot with historically accurate choreography and precision . I think one of my favorite moments was learning about the history of a specific Armenian dance. I Shout out to the instructors Paron Tigran, Ovsanna, Vicky, Rebek- they have such creativity and there is never a dull show or recital. The owner is very personable and she's at the studio on every occasion, she provides refreshments at no charge. However I would caution you that parking is limited and you are not permitted to park at the Citi Bank parking lot or you will be towed. The only place left to park is across the very busy street in another banks parking lot (BofA or WF can't recall), the neighborhood is sketchy, so wear tennis shows so you can walk fast or run (which is what I do). Then you walk in an alley way to get to the back side of the studio, very scary as there are often weirdo's there, so if possible go with someone and walk fast. The studio used to have a security guard in the alley way, but not sure if they still do, that was hit or miss. But once you're in the studio "all is good", but then don't forget you need to walk BACK to your car in the sketchy neighborhood, as a single woman with no companion I stopped going because of the safety issue. I breathe a sigh of relief once I made it "safely" to the studio, but then dreaded walking out alone at night. Not a comfortable feeling for me, so I stopped going because of this. Be safe!

I reached out through IG DM and then she called me to explain her services and how it would work. We went it for a trial and decided to book additional sessions to get a full dance choreographed. Her schedule was pretty flexible and worked for us since we both work during the week. She is a great teacher and choreographed our dance based on our level. We were super beginner but still was able to come up with a beautiful dance for us. We made sure to follow her advice and practice every day between sessions. Lenny has a great personality, she's really nice and patient and also funny! We felt really comfortable with her. Our first dance came out flawless. Our guests were really impressed with out dance moves. Thank you Lenny for helping us with an amazing first dance as husband and wife.

Most studios in LA only have street parking, and they're located in cities where street parking comes down to luck. 12/10 recommend this studio.

A studio with this level of recognition should be maintaining professional standards. Right now, it's falling far short.
