No one should wait 2 month for an appointment. And then once you're finally there for your appointment that you've waited for 2 months, no one should wait 1.5 hours to be seen. - Unacceptable! You'd think that he would be attending you and giving you his full attention? No, in the middle of it he walks out to attend to another patient. I have read theses reviews and I swear you people that have written a bad review n the doctor must be seeing someone else because Dr. Schwachman is nothing but caring and helpful. For the office staff Patty is very nice but Monica is another story. She needs to make phone calls and not assume she knows the answer. The biggest problem is when you have to call the office. Took 3 weeks for them to contact me to schedule my initial appointment. Finally scheduled it for 2 months later went to the appointment and the Dr was out of town so had to reschedule AGAIN. Said they couldn't reach me cause wrong number even though the day I made the appointment the receptionist and I were calling back and fourth. Got to the next appointment he was running an hour behind due to chit chatting ( I heard him in the next room). Didn't even listen to me or really evaluate me and just scheduled an epidural. I had to ask for an MRI since we didn't know why I was in pain. Went to receptionist and scheduled a follow up 3 months later. Called them back to schedule my mri cause they needed to get approval. Heard back 2 months later that they didn't have my insurance card even though I emailed them front and back the day I was there. Then never heard from them again. Called 15 times to cancel my follow up. Never got ahold of anyone left VMs but then received a missed visit bill. read more

I have been seeing doctor Schwachman for well over 10 years now and I highly recommend him is you are in need of pain management. I was told that by the time I was 35 I would be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life, but with the help of this man I am now 54 and still walking on my own two feet simply because he listened to what I had to say and didn't automatically just want to pump me full of drugs and he has taken every avenue available to him to help me. He has gone above and beyond to help me and I couldn't be more happy with his care and compassion for his patients, not to mention how he went out of his way to help my daughter one day with a project she had at school because he had first hand knowledge of it and because of his help she got an A+ and I don't know of any other doctor that has ever done that for one of his patients kids. ‼‼Beware of this Doctor. I would never recommend this doctor . I started going here over five years ago for several pain issues. He put me on heavy drugs the first time we met . He has so many patients he doesn't remember who you are . Be prepared to wait at least two hours for your appointment and you will never be able to get through and talk to a live person. They don't answer their phones ever! I can't tell You how many times I have called in one day trying to get a refill and no call back and no way to get through. So many people have shown up there while I have had my appointment saying they couldn't get through so they had to drive down to get their refill. I had to tell the doctor to recommend me to a rheumatologist because he was clueless about my pain issues he only wanted to put me on meds and do epidural after epidural that didn't work . One time I had my medicine stolen and I had filed a police report and when I talked to the office for a refill they said sorry doctor is under investigation by the DEA and the DOJ so he can't help you go to the ER!! I can't just stop taking the meds he prescribed I can have seizures and horrible withdrawals. He self told me he had a patient die on him so he is being investigated. The final Straw was last week. I started calling on a Friday for my refill that wasn't due till the following Thursday. I left messages Friday, Monday and Wednesday and called over ten times each day and no response. Finally the day of my refill Monica calls and says you missed your appointment last week so we won't be giving you your refill . I told them my appointment wasn't till the next month because you have to see him every four months and she said they changed their policy it's every three months now and they don't call you to remind you of appointments. So I said I'm so sorry I have it written as December 3rd in which she told me well it's not so the next time we can see you in end of February!! Mind you it's beginning of November right now . I said I'm on meds I can't just stop I could end up in the hospital or worse die. She said well doctor is being investigated so we can't help. Go to emergency. I have never seen such lack of compassion and such inhumane treatment of patients . You better believe I will be turning him in to the medical board and much more! Don't go here . They could care less about their patients . Monica is the rudest person I have ever dealt with . She shouldn't be working with patients ! read more

Great doctor... I couldn't feel my foot, it was full of neuropathy pain when I first went to him 2 years ago. I use to trip over my foot when I would walk. I took Norco 7.5mg every 3 to 4 hours and it wasn't working. He changed my meds to Morphine 15mg, 2x a day, 12 hours apart, and now I can feel my foot again... Great doctor. read more

Worst office staff. They don't know how to verify patient's insurance tried to charge my husband 3x the copay. Then made him wait over two hours to verify the correct coverage then try to give him a new appointment in three months because they were to busy to accommodate him after there mess up. So now he's still in pain. So I guess time to report to the medical board !!! read more

I was treated by Dr. Shwachman about five years ago and thought at that time that he ought to retire, as he is getting very old. He's a nice guy, likes to talk about his experiences in the Marines, namely Vietnam I think. Seems he would rather talk about that than the pain you are having. I was in dire straights, severe pain in my lower back. I needed radio-frequency ablation. When he was finished examining me, I saw him walk through the front office of his suite. He said to one of the girls there, "Arrange for RF for Mr. G." I was glad to hear that but I was skeptical as to whether the girl was going to do anything because she was on the phone at that moment. She didn't write anything down. I went home and waited for the RF to be arranged. Finally, after four days, I tried calling the office, but they wouldn't answer. Although I was in tremendous pain, I got in my car and drove to the Shwachman office. Got on my mobility scooter and went in. The door opened. No patients were there. This was a "non-patient" day. I said to that same girl. "Do you remember me?" She didn't. I said my name. She still didn't remember. I reminded her what Dr. Shwachman said four days earlier. She replied, "Oh my gosh, I forgot." I said, I'm going to sit here in the lobby until you inform me as to my appointment at the Surgical Center. It took her only about ten minutes of phone calls / faxes, etc. And she had my appointment. But she had wasted four days that I was in excruciating pain. So Dr. Shwachman did perform the radio-frequency and did a good job as far as I could tell. My pain subsided. Now he is five years older and I'm wondering .... is he just going to keep working until the end? read more

My experience with Dr. Shwachman has been outstanding. I never have to wait. He helps take the edge off my pain by lightning up the visit with an occasional story about his military service. I am a veteran, too. He knows who I am when see hm. I appreciate that. read more
