Congratulations to sidecar on opening a third location. I am a local business supporter as best as I can be and number 2 I really enjoy a fresh cup of coffee. Unlike most of all commercial beans that you buy whole from grocery stores and are oily and black, side cars beans are roasted to a brown color and are non-oily. My only comment is that this location is NOT an actual coffee shop. I guess this is where they do their roasting. I am from out of town and rely on Yelp to get me where I'm going. I went into Single speed Brewing Co--an if it hadn't been 10:00am I may have just stayed there. So I had to find another location and when I finish my coffee I'll post a review on that location. read more

A wonderful addition to the downtown. The espresso beverages have never disappointed and their staff is friendly and offer great ideas if you can't decide on a beverage. I especially appreciate being able to purchase beans roasted in house that are phenomenal. read more

A-maz-ing chai tea lattes! The concentrate is made in house and is the perfect blend of black tea and spices! This coffee shop appears to be just getting established as it seems to be in a newer district of Waterloo (apparently the old wonder bread factory)! Thus it has that industrial feel to it making it fun! They did not have any bakery items available when I arrived, but as soon as I was leaving they were bringing them all in! I have aspergers / autism so it is highly difficult for me to understand social situations including the negative treatment I have received in the last several months from Sidecar Coffee Shop staff members. I have been a very loyal customer since they first opened in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the end if 2013. There is a lot I could type here about my negative experience at Sidecar Coffee Shop ... they reported my first review here and Facebook removed it - it explained in greater detail my negative experience at Sidecar Coffee Shop. I also have a good friend that mentioned Sidecar Coffee Shop would consider a defamation lawsuit against me due to my negative review even though everything I have said is true. I don't think they appreciate negative reviews when a customer is treated poorly ... if I could I would select zero stars here instead of one star. On Monday, February 13, 2017 Sidecar Coffee Shop informed me I am banned from experiencing the coffee shop atmosphere I had come to love through the last three yeas ... the manager asked to speak with me privately at a table towards the back of the coffee shop in a hallway ... this is when he said I was being banned from Sidecar Coffee Shop due to what they felt was me talking about inappropriate or offensive subjects that I can't seem to figire out what I said to deserve being treated with being banned from having coffee at Sidecar. It seems to be highly related to the difficulty I have understanding social situations due to being diagnosed with aspergers / autism by my psychologist in 2010. If you look at the Americans With Disabilites Act ( ada . gov ) in regards to public accomodation there are paragraphs discussing denial of service to individuals with disabilities including mental health / intellectual disabilities ( aspergers / autism ) . That was not the first time the manager of Sidecar Coffee Shop asked to speak with me in private as well as the tone of his voice he used in these brief private talks. There were three to four of these small little private talks the manager held with me ... they started in August 2016 or so ... possibly September 2016. These private talks the mamager held with me took place at a table towards the back of the coffee shop in the hallway leading to the back door. The talks the manager held with me made me feel intimidated and belittled as a human being ... I felt as though I was being treated like a 33 year old child whose parent was sitting them in time out cornered to be scolded for being disobedient. I'm not going i to detail about the manager's private talks with me this time I am just saying how they made me feel at Sidecar Coffee Shop. I know once I had left my collection of free coffee punch cards there due to one of the meetings because I felt I was unwelcome there.
