Then we went back and forth on emails for them only to tell us that we should go get a permit from a private company: International Automobile Association Inc that claims to issue International Driving License. Given that it is a "private company", trying to translate the US Government issued driving license and charge for it is basically and money-making scheme. So basically unlike all other Auto rental companies, ecooltra in Lisbon denied accepting US government issued driving license. We rented from another vendor, and didn't have any issues.

Fast forward... Three months later... October 2017 there is an additional SURPRISE charge on my visa... from Goodrent. No idea what it's for. I did not authorize this charge nor was I made aware by Goodrent of any additional or pending charges. I have contacted Goodrent twice... not so much as an acknowledgment to date! I am disputing this charge with Visa. They've advised it's odd to see a charge 3 months later and especially not being informed is bad business. PLEASE BE AWARE WHEN RENTING WITH THESE PEOPLE. All was well with the car, but this smells of shady business!! To the owners/managers, please, please, at a minimum, acknowledge an email, say you're looking into it and do it. And DEFINITELY never, ever post charges to your customer's account they know nothing about!

Upon hearing of our sightseeing plans for the day, he suggested a side trip to the beach towns of Estoril and Cascais before heading up the mountains to Sintra. Our guide was the head honcho of this operation, and gave us a true "locals" insight on the lay of the land. Unlike some tours, each Chill Out Lisbon is different, as they prioritize catering to each specific audience. Before you step out on your FREE tour, they'll ask questions to see what you really want to see and learn about the city. How awesome is that. We saw several of the main landmarks, but even more of the "roots" of Lisbon. My favorite parts being the Alfama district, and the grand finale. I won't spoil the grand finale but I'll say it's most definitely worth staying to the end. Thanks to our wonderful guide, I believe their name was Jose, but pardon me if I am mistaken. If you can, please tip your lovely guide; they will most likely let you know they are open to receiving tips.
