The charcoal cooking method gives a great taste as opposed to some of the more common electric burners. Don't let the entry fool you, you'll have to take the elevator up to the second floor to access this restaurant. Once you reach the second floor you'll be greeted by the friendly staff who will seat you immediately. While you progress to your table you'll pass by a showcase of varied meats a lot of which is Wagyu! The displays were clean and well organized surely to amp up your appetite. In a glass room you'll notice one of the chefs operating a meat slicer as the meat is cut fresh upon ordering. As I'm sure some of you Korean BBQ fanatics have experienced some restaurants have pre portioned frozen meats. Don't skimp out on this restaurant, the food quality is high so make the most of it! While honeymooning in Sydney my wife and I were on the hunt for "Yangnyeom Gejang". Neither my wife nor I are Korean but "Yangnyeom Gejang" is Spicy Marinated Raw Crab. If you've never tried it and are open minded seriously give it a try as its not readily available. The crab dish was extremely well portioned and makes for a great side dish/appetizer. The banchan was superb and you'll be offered a variety of side dishes to accompany your meal. Aside from the raw crab we ordered Wagyu Beef Tongue, Galbi, and Pork belly! All of which satisfied us and we were well satiated! Whether you're just visiting or a local resident I HIGHLY recommend Jang Ta Bal for your next Korean BBQ venture!

The service was a little off -- one tissue napkin for a table of two (why?), basically tossed all the little banchan plates onto the table, and the bowl of miso soup could not have been more than 1/4 cup ... I mean, what's the point. Everything is all forgiven because the food was delicious. Food came out hot, flavors were balanced, and the carafe of ice, cold water was really nice (hey, I'm ready to please). Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Give them a try.

There is a sign that points to this super shady alley way. But in the back of that is there Madang actually is. When you walk inside it's well lit so no worries! This place uses charcoal so you do get that flavor. We ordered the baby octopus to start. I thought it was good, just a lot of other stuff mixed in with it. As far as the BBQ we got the bulbogi and the galbi. Both meats are my go to when it comes to Korean BBQ. And this place did not disappoint, tender and flavorful. We got the tofu and seafood soup, it was packed with seafood. The service was prompt and this place stays open late!

With most…read morelunches averaging $9, Priced at around $5, this selection of rolls offer value not often found in North Sydney. Destination Roll is a relatively new chain of Vietnamese rolls that I first tried in Cabramatta. The first noticeable feature of these rolls is the bread. A set of baguettes were kept in the oven staging area. This ensured that the baguettes retained their crisp crust just before they are garnished. BBQ PORK ROLL ~$5 The rolls were well garnished to the brink. Overall I didn't like the BBQ pork meat that much. It was more because of the texture rather than the flavour. The texture was like a soft tofu-like meat flavoured patty. Other than that very good roll. However I did prefer the normal pork roll. PORK ROLL ~$5 The bread was again excellent. The meats were more to my liking. The textures were similar to ham slices. The spiciness level is very hot so beware if you yes to chilli. CONCLUSION Are these the best rolls they can be, no. The foundation of excellent bread is one of the factors why I would go back. The add-ons, salads and assembly were almost faultless. The quality of the meats were not to my liking i.e I prefer chunky meat textures as opposed to overly processed here. I'm sure others might appreciate that more than me. The value is undeniable considering the options nearby.

Seems to be a popular place. Several parties were going on, seemed like a bachelorette party, a birthday, a group of folks all dressed in pink and another group dressed like flappers. It was extremely loud and unfortunately I was not able to make my way to an area where I could have checked out the view. It is semi covered by a roof and then there is an open air area, but the are large umbrellas you can hide under. I had a nice little drink and enjoyed the people watching. They have quite a drink menu and also offer some food, but that is rather limited. Just come up here for the drinks and the party atmosphere. I have to say that the bartenders are very nice.

The staircase had a few more steps than I had thought but since the walls were covered with a rather nifty form of graffiti art sort of fun. Overall I found the seating and general atmosphere of being up on the roof top extremely pleasant and sort of a welcome relief from being on street level. The general set up with bar and food service is really good, orderly, neat, clean, trendy and fun. For food, I went for the for their Wagyu flat iron steak. Though listed on their menu as barbecue it actually came grilled, but that might be because Australians, as is the much the same situation in the United States north of the Mason Dixon line, are oblivious to the differences between "barbecuing" and "grilling." Hence when Australians say they are going to "toss whatever on the barbie," they actually mean they are going to toss it upon an open grill. Nevertheless, the steak was really good, served with a nice side salad. My dining companion, Yelper Jim D., ordered the salmon skewers which were likewise perfectly grilled, served with a side of greens and topped with a sprig of fresh dill in what was not only delicious but eye appealing. Because of the good food, reasonable prices and nifty rooftop location, I haven't any hesitation in being a fan of Sweetheart's or of recommending it.
