Our drinks were out in 3-5 minutes and our food was out within about 5-7 minutes after. As soon as we finished we were given our checks to pay at the front. I think we were here for only 45 minutes and it was amazing! I started out with the iced strawberry matcha and my husband had their iced mocha. The iced mocha was good but the iced strawberry matcha was flawless. The strawberries were so fresh and the matcha was just perfect itself. Great combo together! My husband had the free range eggs on toast and I had the eggs Benedict. His was delicious but the eggs Benedict was amazing. The crispy kale really sold me as it was delectable in each bite. Eggs were poached to perfection and the truffle hollandaise was just delicious. Couldn't have had a better experience if we tried!

For a larger party, coming in with a reservation was convenient since they are pretty busy and change tables often. Service staff were efficient and very friendly. Ordering was easy as well. Their seasonal specials is definitely worth the look over. I had the peanut butter shake and although it didn't look it, it tasted very much like peanut butter in liquid form. I also got to try the summer breeze watermelon salad. That was refreshing. It had a mix of greens, dressing, feta and a crisp prosciutto. I've never had prosciutto served fried; it was delicious. The whole piece married well, and I wish I knew the background of how it was created. I loved every bite! Although the place was crowded, it can still be intimate. Besides indoor seating, they also have a patio and seating outside.

The charcoal cooking method gives a great taste as opposed to some of the more common electric burners. Don't let the entry fool you, you'll have to take the elevator up to the second floor to access this restaurant. Once you reach the second floor you'll be greeted by the friendly staff who will seat you immediately. While you progress to your table you'll pass by a showcase of varied meats a lot of which is Wagyu! The displays were clean and well organized surely to amp up your appetite. In a glass room you'll notice one of the chefs operating a meat slicer as the meat is cut fresh upon ordering. As I'm sure some of you Korean BBQ fanatics have experienced some restaurants have pre portioned frozen meats. Don't skimp out on this restaurant, the food quality is high so make the most of it! While honeymooning in Sydney my wife and I were on the hunt for "Yangnyeom Gejang". Neither my wife nor I are Korean but "Yangnyeom Gejang" is Spicy Marinated Raw Crab. If you've never tried it and are open minded seriously give it a try as its not readily available. The crab dish was extremely well portioned and makes for a great side dish/appetizer. The banchan was superb and you'll be offered a variety of side dishes to accompany your meal. Aside from the raw crab we ordered Wagyu Beef Tongue, Galbi, and Pork belly! All of which satisfied us and we were well satiated! Whether you're just visiting or a local resident I HIGHLY recommend Jang Ta Bal for your next Korean BBQ venture!

To my disappointment, the Variety was limited and the side dishes are almost always out with slow replenishment. Ok I get it it's limited staffing and so on. I'll just suck it in and enjoy ourselves. However, once the charcoal was placed into the grill, wow! 6-7 cockroaches started to come out from the wood stand of the grill!! Just a thought, if you plan on reopening after a month or 2 of closure, at least a decent pest control should be done before reopening. Totally put off with all the roaches and the food doesn't taste as good as it used to. I for one will never come back to such a unhygienic place ever. That's my opinion.

The new building is huge, modern, and incredibly clean. During our visit, we stopped by Getsashimi and ordered a variety of sashimi, including salmon, otoro, kingfish, and oysters. Everything was exceptionally fresh and literally melted in your mouth. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the very next day for more. If you're a seafood lover, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Wow, what a difference a year (and a change of location) makes! Visited the "NEW Sydney Fish…read moreMarket" on Jan. 22, 2026 - opening day at its new "modernized" location just across the water from the original location. And what a sad disappointment it was. The new location is. . . well, OK, newer. Other than that, it lacks the funky, stinky authentic charm of the original. Reminded me very much of a nondescript shopping center food court, but even more crowded. Although much larger in square footage than the original, the lines for each stall are horribly longer. Maybe it was just opening day snafus or a serious lack of planning, but the demarcation of the lines for each stall was a complete mess. Sometimes hard to tell which line was for which stall and sometimes you were shoulder-to-shoulder with people in line for a different stall. Oh, and to pay the new rents the price$$$ of everything have gone up. You can actually go to a comfortable sit-down seafood restaurant and pay the same, if not less, as what you will spend for the privilege of standing in line, juggling paper containers of food and drink, and praying that you might find a table at which to eat. Speaking of which. . . it seems the new location actually has fewer tables than the original. People were circling about like hawks just to snag a spot on the stairs to SIT. Nothing like juggling seafood and beverages on your knees to make you ask yourself, "Why the f#@k am I even here doing this?" As I sat doing just this I stared at the closed original seafood market across the way with nostalgic longing. Adding to the pandemonium are the hoards of slow, elderly Chinese tourist groups in their matching colored outfits (or state-issued uniforms ?), each member posing for selfies with fish [aren't there fish in China?], and clogging up the nearby tram station. So much for "progress?"
