This is one of my favorite restaurants in Reynosa. Good food. Great selection of micro-brew beer. Great ambiance.

So, once I arrived I decided to try it out rather than backtrack to my intended destination. Upon entry I was greeted by three or four employees and seated immediately. The waitress brought me ice water and I also ordered coffee, which was very good. I looked over the menu and chose my favorite breakfast when in the Valley; Huevos a la Mexicana. The breakfast plate also comes with fried potatoes, refried beans and either toast or choice of tortillas. I always choose corn tortillas and these are very good, appearing to be home made vs typical store bought. They are thicker and have a more pronounced corn flavor. When my breakfast arrived I was surprised at the portion size, particularly the eggs. It was indeed, a large portion. It were filled with lots of diced onion, jalapeños and tomato and all appeared to be grilled prior to being added to the scrambled eggs. I also asked for salsa verde and this definitely did not disappoint. It was creamy and very spicy. Not thin and vinegary. It's the salsa verde that takes this dish over the top. The fried potatoes were the typical fare, cubed and fried. Maybe a bit larger dice than usual, but still cooked through and a bit crunchy. The refried beans were better than most places and had more flavor. I really enjoyed them. As stated earlier, the tortillas were good with a bit of chew to them, not thin and falling apart. And the coffee was really good for a restaurant that doesn't specialize in coffee. Rich, robust but not burned tasting. My cup never ran dry as the waiters/waitresses were always around, ready to top it off. The price was reasonable too. Not as cheap as one place I go to frequently but not as high as most small cafe/restaurants locally. I have returned three times in the weeks following my first visit. I can see this becoming my new favorite breakfast joint here in the RGV. Drop in and give them a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Once we finally sat down, it took forever for anyone to even take our order. I ordered the salmon and shrimp, and the salmon came out undercooked, so it had to be sent back. On top of that, I couldn't even get a simple drink refill. I asked one server walking by--nothing. Asked another one--still nothing. Asked the same girl a second time, and only then did she finally bring it, but by that point I was already finished with my meal. The service was unbelievably slow and frustrating. If this is what it's like when the place is almost empty, I can't imagine how bad it must be on a busy day.

The cheese, pears and balsamic glaze all joined together to make a fabulous dish! My husband had the Pepperoni Pizza and he said it was great. Btw, they make their own dough for the pizza and it is perfect. Our friend had the Shrimp Scampi and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant is clean and offers comfortable and spacious seating and pleasant decor. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. We will be back and we hope you will go, as well. They have 2 additional spaces for groups and special occasions and they have a step down lounge adjacent to the bar with tvs going - perfect for watching the game! Please go! We also ordered a regular pepperoni pizza. The pizza was really cheesy, which I loved but I think it could have stood to be in the oven a couple more minutes because the center was a little too soggy. But the outer crust was nice and crisp. I ordered the tortellini bolognese. The pasta was cooked nicely but the sauce did not taste like traditional bolognese sauce. It tasted like regular meat sauce. That being said, I enjoyed the taste of the sauce but it was not worth the 20 dollar price, especially since it wasn't even bolognese. The service was nice. Our waitress was attentive and since we were the only ones there at the time, our food came out pretty quick! The space itself was clean and felt homey. Would have loved some Italian music but we enjoyed ourselves either way. All in all, this place was ok, not great but definitely better than some other Italian places I've been. With a few improvements, their food could be really great!
