They sloughed a hill of dead skin off one leg. She returned to the home for a couple days after her hospital stay. I brought her delicious puréed food from my table, the staff at this home slamming doors as I fed her. I returned to work the next day, and was informed she'd passed. When I arrived at the home, I was unable to breathe, the stench of death was so bad. My mom had been dead for hours, and no one called me. The owner seemed nice at first, then bought another home and handed this one off to an uncaring family who was obviously just looking for a place for their family to live. They came from another country and didn't work. There is no care nor activities in this house of horrors. If you love your loved ones, don't subject them to this house. After a few months, my mom was finally able to move into her own apartment on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. It was like she was on vacation every day! I've rented quite a few properties in my 40+ yrs on this earth, in many different states! Taylor is awesome, as is Brittany who also works in the office here. I also have to give a huge and much deserved shout out to the maintenance team here!! Ricardo, Ryan, and the others have been fantastic. I've lived here for a couple years now and any time I've ever needed anything they have been quick to fix/repair or even just look at whatever the issue was. From AC repair, to new appliances, to fixing leaky sinks and anything in between!!! The property as I said is also very well maintained and I feel very safe living here. Issues; Hot tub closed or not cleaned many times Pool closed or not clean many times TV room not working for the entire 2 years plus Carpet in my unit was never tacked down correctly. Constantly sticking my bare feet. Had to complain for six months for them to get new grills that actually worked And we're safe. Maintenance guy flirting and harassing with my spouse ( he basically told her she was not on the lease and she could not make any complaints) Would make his way around her to talk to her on a daily basis kind of creepy. This had to be solved by myself face to face in the parking lot with me letting him know that he was not welcome around me or my spouse and not to have any further communication. They Would not trim the trees scratching the roof or the side of our apartment. Took over a year to get that done because they were "" shopping for a vendor" Several times trash not picked up overflowing bins. Now they have zip tied the gates so you have to throw your bags in the dumpster to prevent from large items being left there. Complex is not secure contents of my vehicle were stolen police report in the city of Phoenix from parking lot. Had my apartment professionally cleaned when I left and they still charge me $518. So as you can see these are probably just typical issues when you live in a multi family dwelling. However none of my issues were ever adequately satisfied. I started paying 1500 a month when I rented and when I left I was paying 1800 a month. The management is never on the same page misinformation and disinformation. Not a good feeling. Maybe I'm the only one however in communicating with my neighbors I know I'm not. I do take into consideration Covid however most of these offenses happen to pre-Covid. I know I'm old-school but I like to get my moneys worth. It's just a great place to park however don't expect much and you'll be fine.

There were serious issues with her care coordination, intake process, medication orders and supply, etc. My mother was in pain for 2 of the 2 1/2 days she was on hospice before she died. We knew she was very near death so we just tried to correct the issues instead of changing the hospice company. That meant we had very little time to sit vigil with her, and instead were trying to figure out how to get all these issues resolved. I did hear from the clinical Director afterwards, and shared the details and I appreciated her listening, but I'm sharing this for the sake of others who could hopefully avoid it.

Things that happen to a body that long after passing are things no family should ever have to endure. Even the CEO called later to apologize and claimed this was being handled "personally". He didn't even remember this event nor did he ever call to explain what happened and how they made sure it wouldn't happen again!!!

I was greeted on the phone by the most amazing, dedicated and truly loving women Judy Brown, the Community Resource Director. Judy truly listens to the needs of your loved one and the family, and assesses the situation to ensure that Sunshine Village is the proper placement for your loved one. When we toured Sunshine Village, I truly felt that God guided us here. IT IS A COMMUNITY UNLIKE ANY OTHER! Security is of the utmost importance, the grounds are beautifully kept, the staff is always welcoming and pleasant. The setting is exactly a little community of 7-4,000 sq ft cottages placed in a cul-de-sac setting that is completely secure, where your loved one can walk and visit throughout the community. Sunshine Village is truly a "Safe Haven". Judy went above and beyond to assist us in placing Mom in the appropriate cottage within Sunshine Village (along with Patty-Head Nurse) to ensure Mom was placed with other loved ones on the same level of memory loss and mobility. Sean Mockbee, the Director of Sunshine Village is compassionate and also has dedicated a lot of love into this community. They have stimulating daily activities that include motor skills-exercise-social interaction just to name a few, Michelle who takes the time to make your loved one feel special in the Salon, 24 hr assistance through caregivers that tend to the needs of daily needs, meals-hygiene-housekeeping. Thank you to everyone at Sunshine Village for giving our Mother a beautiful community that she can call home.
