They still use fax as a means of communication, even with Hospice. I was asked by the above Directors to post date a document that should have been signed the day my dad passed. It was done 12 days later. It delayed the process. They just don't care. Those 2 should not be caring for elderly. I have reported them to the state and will continue to do so until I have a response.

We chose Vi at Grayhawk because of the outstanding ranking of their health care unit and the warmth of the residents in the community. We attended several "meet the residents" marketing events. Our transition has been flawless. We sold our home very quickly, before the total renovation of our apartment was completed so the sales team at Vi provided housing for us for 5 weeks and absorbed the cost of storage of our furniture. They provided a recommendation for an excellent mover, and put us in touch with a relocation specialist who drew a floor plan to advise which pieces of furniture would fit in our new space. This experience has been much better than we could have expected. The staff is overwhelmingly kind and responsive, the food is delicious (two dining spaces, one formal and one casual) and we are so comfortable in our beautiful apartment. We're thrilled to be at Vi at Grayhawk.

When Covid hit, Misty even started stopping by my mom's house or giving her a call just to check on her every couple of weeks to see if she needed anything. I live 5 hours away and my mom was living alone, I can't tell you how much comfort this act of kindness brought to us both. After a few months, my mom was finally able to move into her own apartment on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. It was like she was on vacation every day! The staff is amazing, they always made sure mom had everything she wanted. They even made special accommodations for my family and I to have a private little birthday party for her complete with her favorite food and margaritas! I always felt like my mother's best interests and making sure she was safe and happy was their top priority.

The restaurant-style dining is also a plus (and the food is GOOD!--the whole family really enjoyed the special Christmas Eve dinner ) Almost every room has a balcony or some sort of outdoor access. My Mom loves to have her morning coffee on her private balcony. The management and staff has also been great about communication with me about any concerns that have about my Mom. The Management has done a great job is creating a real community where the residents and staff truly care about each other.

After getting to know my mom, the staff fell in love with her because she was such a caring individual. When she was in the last few days of her life, the staff was so supportive of me and my family. When the air conditioning was installed in the building, she woke up one morning, stepped out of her bedroom "half dressed" to go get some coffee and was startled by two men working in her apartment. She gave them NO AUTHORIZATION to come in, Atria did not inform or ask her the day before ( at least ) to let her know someone would be entering her apartment. Thankfully, she didn't have a heart attack as she was scared to death. She ran back in her bedroom hoping they did not see her and waited for them to leave. This cannot be an acceptable way of doing business, this is not acceptable in any way. I am generally the person that can handle just about anything but this is BEYOND ACCEPTABLE. She was embarrassed to even tell us this. As far as I am concerned this was basically breaking and entering! What the heck is going on there? Atria is supposed to be a company that we can trust with our parents well this clearly proves that they are not!

There are only two caregivers…read moreworking 24/7 supposedly taking care of 10 residents (two of whom passed away in the last three months). One caregiver, not certified, is the cook, laundress and maid. The other is a RN in the Philippines. The food is Filippino and unappetizing to most Americans. The residents sit on reclines in the livinig room watching tv all day. There is little nighttime coverage and for my mother they would shut her door so as not to disturb the caregivers at night. One day I arrived at 10 am to find my mother screaming in pain. No one had called 911. I called myself and my motther was transported to the hospital and admitted. They are unable to understand English very well and in spite of the fact that I told them mom was diabetic, they gave her ice cream or cake everyday. This is a place people go to die.
