Our tour guides were Chad and Joey who made for a great ride out into the ocean. Good information was shared along the way and when dolphins were located on the tour Chad was excellent at pointing them out along the way. A bald eagle nest was also seen complete with a bald eagle perched overlooking the ocean. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous and the tour was just the right amount of time to be out on the water to enjoy the boat ride. We don't drink so purchased the tickets without the alcohol included but then were welcome to bring on our own drinks and snacks for the ride. The playlist of music out on the sunset tour was top notch and apparently dolphins have a good affection for Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" as when that song came on the dolphins came out in force. Highly recommend Siesta Key Watersports!

My wife and I are visiting from Maine and wanted to explore offshore so we researched boat rentals…read morein our area, chose Cortez Watersports and are SO happy that we did. Booking was super easy and the rental process was thoroughly explained. We invited two other couples to join us and found the pontoon boat that we chose to be spacious and comfortable for the six of us and one dog. We arrived around 8:45am to check in and carry our belongings down to the dock where everything was loaded into the boat for us which was nice. We were then given an explanation of the area map and a tour of the boat. We had an amazing day on the water where we saw several dolphins, found dozens of sand dollars, parked at some sandbars and caught a few fish. We arrived back at the dock at 5:00pm and unloaded our stuff onto the dock where it was loaded into a cart and wheeled to our vehicles for us which we really appreciated. The fine folks at Cortez Watersports were friendly and catered to us beyond our expectations. We would definitely visit them again and highly recommend that you consider them for your next on the water outing.

My wife lucked into discovering Whisper Sailing when she was planning a weekend trip for our family…read moreto Anna Maria Island. Our weekend started with a morning sail with Captain Geoff, owner of Whisper Sailing, and we had a blast. I've done enough boating to know plenty of crotchety captains that have trouble with landlubbers, and Captain Geoff was the complete opposite. He was very friendly, personable and a wonderful host for our trip. Captain Geoff already had the sails up and ready to go at the dock. He helped everyone on board, we slipped off our dock lines, motored for maybe 50' and then killed the outboard. Just seconds after leaving the dock we were under sail. I was impressed to learn Captain Geoff had built the beautiful wooden boat himself. He chose the design because it only draws 1' so he can sail closer to the islands than you'll ever get in anything except a kayak, which is perfect for his eco-tours. Many tour guides get into their set routine and don't like to deviate from it, but Captain Geoff seemed so flexible and willing to go wherever there was something interesting that day. Our girls were VERY excited at the prospect of seeing dolphins, so Captain Geoff sailed around in an area where he frequently sees dolphins and sure enough we spotted some popping up. The girls were absolutely delighted! We were hoping to see manatees as well, but that will have to wait until our next trip. After watching the dolphins we sailed right up to the island for an up-close inspection of the shore-side vegetation and birds. Geoff shared interesting tidbits about the history and ecology throughout the trip. We had a great time on our sail, and will definitely return. Thanks again Captain Geoff!
