As of now, 11 months later the black spot, the size of a nickel, is still floating in my eye. Upon going to his office in August about this problem, I was told that the black spot may never leave my eye. While I was in the waiting room in August, I talked to a friend who also had an appointment who had my same procedure in November and he had the same black spot. I was told that the shot that was given to me could not have been done in the hospital because it was not approved by them. Why then did Sambursky use the procedure and how many other patients now have this black spot in their eye?

I went to see Dr. Sambursky and his wonderful staff, and immediately I knew this would be a great option for my eyes. Dr.'s office staff are so kind, their desire to help you is genuine. They walk you through every step of the procedure, they hold your hand during the procedure, and they follow up with you, all with such amazing customer service. And just 1 day later I am so amazed how I now can see so crisp and clear and feel great, and am on my way to a smooth recovery. I must thank both Dr Sambursky and his amazing procedure team and support staff team for their professional, skilled, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable treatment to me. They all helped walk me through each step of surgery before, during, and after. And to add, their facility is top notch state of the art. The office never communicated to me that my LASIK evaluation appt would require my eyes to be…read moredilated, so I showed up by myself and was unable to have the evaluation because I needed to drive myself back home afterwards. The office also messed up scheduling my LASIK surgery appt. I live in NC and I was only visiting NY to have this surgery, so when I made the appt they told me that my surgery was booked for the Monday immediately following my Wednesday evaluation. However during my evaluation, they told me that they did not have my surgery date scheduled and that they no longer could fit me in on Monday despite me driving all the way from NC for this procedure. After all this, they said they could just "reschedule me again for a later date" despite the fact I told them I don't live in the area and I only made the commute from NC to NY in order to have this procedure done. They then just casually told me "then you're free to leave." I'm an easy-going guy but this was extremely frustrating and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm very disappointed because I was looking forward to having LASIK done, and I'm very upset at all the time I wasted because of the poor communication and the scheduling failures of this office.

My son's glasses broke and needed the prescription to get new glasses, called and spoke with Bernice and she was quite unpleasant and offered no help with situation (even though I had scheduled a new eye appt which is 1 month from now). She didn't offer to make an eye prescription exception/extension because my son's glasses broke. Things happen and because it didn't fall within the time frame my son should not suffer. Possibly if they had emergency time set up during the day for customers like this my son would be able to get in sooner. Not this place. I asked for the old prescription and she provided me with a copy and her hand written, marker EXPIRED. Your deviance, pernicious is duly noted! The eye place I have an appointment with requests the current (or old in my case) prescription and she made it a point to cause me embarrassment as they could plainly see from the date that it would be calculated expired. Dr. Pisanchyn is a pleasure though. It's too bad we will not be returning here for future visits. Some staff may need additional coaching.

Last ditch effort I really dug in and started researching who was the best. Dr Colella to the rescue. He gave me the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. He was kind and told me what he was doing and what the results meant. He spent 5 times more time with me than all 3 doctors combined. After being in the chair for 5 minutes I knew I came to the right place. He even stayed late on the day before a holiday for my exam. I couldn't be more pleased to be able to see again and any more thankful for Dr Colella.

I cannot recommend this practice to anyone…read more My daughter is currently undergoing testing for a disabling neurological condition and needed a specific nerve fiber density skin biopsy test. Before agreeing to the procedure, she asked this office multiple times whether they performed that specific test. She was assured they did. On May 7, they removed two skin biopsy samples from her body and told her the results would take approximately two weeks. Two weeks came and went with no phone call. She then followed up herself. She called seven separate times, and every single time she was told the same thing: "We'll contact the lab." No answers. No explanation. No accountability. On June 15, after weeks of getting nowhere, she and her husband drove directly to the dermatology laboratory themselves trying to find out what had happened. Even then, no one could explain why there were still no results. Finally, after her eighth follow-up, she was able to speak with the physician. She was then told something unbelievable. The doctor claimed the office notes stated that she had been informed over the phone that this practice does not perform the specific test she requested. That is simply false. She was never told that before the biopsies were taken. In fact, she specifically asked at least twice before allowing pieces of skin to be removed from her body and was repeatedly told they did perform this testing. Had she been told otherwise, she never would have consented to the procedure. So after: Multiple confirmations that they performed the test. An invasive procedure involving two skin biopsies. Eight follow-up contacts. More than a month of waiting. Countless hours of frustration while searching for answers to a disabling condition... ...the final answer was essentially: "We don't perform that test." To make matters even worse, the medical record now allegedly contains documentation stating she had been informed otherwise--a statement that directly contradicts what actually occurred. This entire experience demonstrates a shocking level of incompetence, poor communication, and complete lack of accountability. A patient trusted this office, underwent an invasive procedure, repeatedly sought answers, and was strung along for weeks--only to discover the requested test was never even performed. This failure delayed her diagnosis, wasted valuable time, subjected her to an unnecessary invasive procedure, and caused needless physical and emotional distress during an already difficult medical journey. Patients deserve honesty, competence, and accurate documentation--not misinformation, endless excuses, and weeks of wasted time. We will be filing formal complaints with the appropriate regulatory agencies so this does not happen to another patient. The only reason why this pathetic clinic even received two stars from me is that it's harder to get rid of a two-star review than a one-star review. And frankly, this Mickey Mouse clinic doesn't even deserve a one star rating.
