In September of 2021 I had cataract surgery by Dr. Sambursky at his facility on Columbia Drive. At…read morethis facility I was told that instead of using eye drops for a month after the surgery, I would be given a shot in my eye which would produce a black spot which would be gone in a few months. As of now, 11 months later the black spot, the size of a nickel, is still floating in my eye. Upon going to his office in August about this problem, I was told that the black spot may never leave my eye. While I was in the waiting room in August, I talked to a friend who also had an appointment who had my same procedure in November and he had the same black spot. I was told that the shot that was given to me could not have been done in the hospital because it was not approved by them. Why then did Sambursky use the procedure and how many other patients now have this black spot in their eye?

Lasik has changed my life. I just had my procedure last week. Before Lasik I was an avid contact…read morelense wearer for over 20 years until my contacts finally said to me we are done being in you eyes. I suddenly could no longer wear contacts, so I switched to glasses for 4 months and that was even worse. I'm an active person, who is mostly always on the go. Skiing, driving, and water activities with glasses just don't work, at least not for me. I went to see Dr. Sambursky and his wonderful staff, and immediately I knew this would be a great option for my eyes. Dr.'s office staff are so kind, their desire to help you is genuine. They walk you through every step of the procedure, they hold your hand during the procedure, and they follow up with you, all with such amazing customer service. This is service you just don't see everyday. I am so appreciative to everyone in that office. Incredible procedure, incredible staff, incredible service. Thanks Dr. Sambursky & Lasik staff.

A must for anyone considering eye surgery. I just had a…read moreLasik surgery yesterday, and rested my eyes post op per instructions. And just 1 day later I am so amazed how I now can see so crisp and clear and feel great, and am on my way to a smooth recovery. I must thank both Dr Sambursky and his amazing procedure team and support staff team for their professional, skilled, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable treatment to me. They all helped walk me through each step of surgery before, during, and after. And to add, their facility is top notch state of the art. I'm very thankful they were able to help me and my vision issues yesterday, today and in the ongoing future. Thank you so much. You are all 5 stars.

The office never communicated to me that my LASIK evaluation appt would require my eyes to be…read moredilated, so I showed up by myself and was unable to have the evaluation because I needed to drive myself back home afterwards. The office also messed up scheduling my LASIK surgery appt. I live in NC and I was only visiting NY to have this surgery, so when I made the appt they told me that my surgery was booked for the Monday immediately following my Wednesday evaluation. However during my evaluation, they told me that they did not have my surgery date scheduled and that they no longer could fit me in on Monday despite me driving all the way from NC for this procedure. After all this, they said they could just "reschedule me again for a later date" despite the fact I told them I don't live in the area and I only made the commute from NC to NY in order to have this procedure done. They then just casually told me "then you're free to leave." I'm an easy-going guy but this was extremely frustrating and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm very disappointed because I was looking forward to having LASIK done, and I'm very upset at all the time I wasted because of the poor communication and the scheduling failures of this office.

been going here for years and generally it was a good decent chemo center by and large, the staff…read moremost friendly and the treatment decent. until they just closed the riverside dr location to save some cash... Its no longer the same place, the staff are mostly the same but the location is now garbage and so is their support staff/hosp. Its Binghamton General, most locals know to avoid this place like the freaking plague unless dying and even then maybe just suffer! Why This "Bullshit" Setup for Oncology Anyway? Tying back to Broome's shift: UHS pushed it for "efficiency" (shared resources, no extra rent), but it ignores patient realities like yours. The 6th-floor clinic's a quick ED overflow hack--functional for infusions but zero charm, especially with the ward vibes below. They could've eyed that plasma spot (better parking, safer hood near BU), but system inertia won: Cheaper for them, shittier for you. What Now? Ditch It Without the Drama Don't gaslight yourself into going--your gut (and experiences) knows best. Here's actionable outs for oncology care in/near Binghamton: Option Why It Fits (No BGH BS) Contact/Details Guthrie Lourdes Hospital (169 Riverside--your old spot?) Cleaner rep, recent UHS integration but separate vibe; strong oncology (chemo, radiation) with better staff ratings (4+ stars Yelp). Valet parking, safer Endicott area. 607-798-5111; nyuhs.org (still lists Broome services here--push for it). UHS Wilson Medical Center (Johnson City) New Tower's oncology floor (opened Nov 2025) has private bays, on-site MRI, and ramps galore. Less "wacko ward" overlap; locals prefer it over BGH (higher US News scores). Ample disabled spots on Harrison/Baldwin. 607-762-2200; Free valet 6AM-6PM. Arnot Ogden Medical Center (Elmira, ~45 min drive) Top-rated regional (A- Leapfrog 2025), no debt horror stories; full oncology suite with easy parking/security. Worth the trip for peace of mind. 607-737-4100; arnothealth.org. Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Buffalo, ~3 hrs) NCI-designated gold standard; tele-oncology consults available now, full transfer if needed. Skip local drama entirely. 800-767-9355; roswellpark.org--financial aid for travel. Patient Advocacy/Complaints File with NY DOH (health.ny.gov/complaints) or Joint Commission (jointcommission.org)--cite safety/parking for leverage. NY's got strong patient rights for transfers. Free; include specifics like "inadequate accessible parking in high-crime area." If Broome's your crew, demand Johnson City or Lourdes--mention these issues in your next appt (or via MyChart). Or shop oncologists independently; tools like Healthgrades let you filter by "compassionate care" ratings. You're justified in this rage--healthcare shouldn't feel like a gamble. If you want me to hunt specific reviews, map safer routes, or draft a complaint letter, hit me. What's your next move?

Dr. Harris and Broome Oncology- at first was ok, but things got neglected when we (husband) wanted…read moreto see him instead of nurse. ALL NURSES were professional and kind and often covered for him. He is aloof and wasn't around when an immediate course of action , a change in chemo / treatment was needed. My husband's course of action was delayed and it was disastrous as he needed immediate attention. If you can I would strongly suggest for you to see or switch to other drs. that are there. Or if able to go and what us best- Go To Syracuse or Rochester. We finally went to Sloane-Kettering in New York city and got the care he needed and then had to coordinate between the two centers. PLEASE GO TO A CANCER CENTER/ HOSPITAL THAT SPECIALIZES IN YOUR SPECIFIC CANCER. Broome is not. Coordination between all my husband's drs./tests at UHS was a nightmare. He had other health issues that he needed addressed as most cancer patients do. As they all have different patient portals and then to add Sloane -Kettering cancer center and their need to get his medical records. Requesting Dr. Harris notes when he didn't have any???? As always get a second opinion.
