Probably an ideal cigar shop for the seasoned cigar smoker and male seasoned cigar smoker. But not a good shop for a novice. I came in here ready to throw my money at them cause I'm loving the new world of cigars. Unfortunately the gentleman wasn't very welcoming. I asked for recommendations and showed him a cigar band of something I smoked hoping he might know a thing or two about it. He curtly said "Never heard of it. Must be a private label". That's fine. I don't expect everyone to know every label on earth, but he didn't bother to ask why I liked it. Instead he walked to the humidor and asked how much I wanted to spend. I told him my budget. He assumed I preferred something lighter (I learned pretty early on into cigars that I prefer medium to plus). However, he decided for me without asking my preferences and said "You'll want a lighter smoke" then pulled out two cigars. I felt too uncomfortable to ask questions and learn more about cigars. It was like he was telling me what is best for me without my opinion and that was that. He was a polite guy, but I could feel that my purchase was more of a nuisance to him than anything. Definitely not a shop for the new cigar smoker. Like I said, this is probably a shop for the seasoned male smoker. I won't be back. read more

Great selection and most of their staff is knowledgeable. Late night guy was not very well educated in the offerings, but that is on par for most cigar shops. Wife went in to get me a non-aromatic pipe tobacco similar to Dunhill 965. They didn't have the 965, so they sold her an "ounce" of something else, which was a gooper, for like $8. Clearly an Aromatic blend. Also, it looked small to me so I weighed it on my digital scale and it was 3/4 oz not even a full oz. Not cool guys. On a positive note, the goop they sold her isn't half bad ...I'll enjoy it for what it is, but many pipe smokers only smoke one or the other so was it and uneducated sale or just "they don't care?" They have the tobacco products I need but they are pricey. I have to find another alternative for buying my pouches of tobacco. But that goes with the territory, Bethesda and Rockville, two of the most expensive areas to live and shop. read more

This cigar bar does have a ton of great cigars, but the staff makes you feel completely unwelcome like you are bothering them by spending money and the place is not clean. Cigars in every ashtray. The chairs coated in the remnants of past cigars. If you are just looking to buy there are plenty of other cigar shops in town. read more

My grandfather died and I inherited a number of his tobacco pipes. Thought it would be a nice way to connect to him and his memory by enjoying the occasional smoke from one of his well-loved pipes. Walked into the shop and was treated to a warm welcome by the owner and a crew of guys enjoying their cigars and a football game. I asked about the various tobacco blends offered, was given a suggestion based on my preference and picked up a pipe tool and some pipe cleaners at checkout. Nice hospitable place, knowledgeable owner and a HUGE selection of whatever you may be looking for - cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco and all the accessories. I will certainly be back. read more

As someone who has been smoking pipes and cigars for a little over a year, and only recently getting into smoking lounges, this shop is exactly what I'm looking for from a tobacco lounge. They do require you to purchase $10 worth of cigars to use the lounge, which I wasn't expecting, but the sales person allowed me to purchase $10 worth of pipe tobacco instead of a cigar (as I already had a cigar on hand.) Places like this can be a bit intimidating, especially for the uninitiated, but after an initial awkwardness of explaining that I already had a cigar, the sales person became very friendly and helpful. The lounge was filled with other gentlemen, most gathered around a large table playing cards. The lounge was large, and I was able to relax without feeling awkwardly close to the other customers (important for a shy person like myself.) The only discomfortable aspect of the lounge was a customer who seemed to have brought an escort with him, but the lounge was big enough to be able to turn away and filter out the PDA. All in all, I would probably go more often if the $10 cover could be paid in cash rather than sales so that I could come with a pipe and some tobacco, but this will definitely be a place to go to relax and enjoy a cigar. read more
