After the procedure, I kept going back because something clearly wasn't right. Instead of addressing the problem, they repeatedly prescribed antibiotics and insisted nothing was wrong. Over time, I saw multiple dentists trying to get answers, but no one wanted to take responsibility or properly investigate. (created a ton of fear) I was essentially passed from one office to another with no resolution. Nearly nine years later, I finally found a dentist who took my concerns seriously and referred me to an endodontist. The specialist confirmed that the original root canal had failed they missed a canal. It had been overfilled, which caused a pocket in my jaw that repeatedly became infected. For years, I was dealing with chronic infections, with my mouth flaring up every month or so, and no one acknowledging the real cause. The dentist who performed the procedure claimed to be a specialist, but based on the outcome, the quality of work was unacceptable. This wasn't just a minor issue--it led to long-term damage and significant health complications. I've dealt with chronic inflammation, recurring infections, and even hospital visits due to blood infections that were never properly traced back to the source at the time. I paid for professional care and trusted this office, and after 4 hours in a chair and thousands later in return, I was left dealing with the consequences of a failed procedure that no one would take responsibility for. It took nearly a decade to finally get a clear diagnosis and validation of what I had been experiencing the entire time.(keep in mind I couldn't live on antibiotics either so no medication to heal it or prevent infection or I'd end up immune to them if I did) I would strongly caution others to seek second opinions and ensure they are getting proper care, because my experience here resulted in years of unnecessary pain and avoidable health issues. When the doctor finally came, he only looked at my son's teeth for less than a minute and simply said that the teeth were too crooked to fix. That was it -- there are nothing to do. What's worse, they still charged us around $140 for basically doing nothing. I understand consultation fees, but this felt completely unreasonable and unprofessional. Prior to getting my braces on in my teens, I had to get 8 baby teeth removed that hadn't come out on their own. I also had to get an expander, as my jaw was too small for my teeth that were severely crowded. Dr. Brian Nebbe was my orthodontist at Align in Sherwood Park. He started me with the expander, and did my braces as well. I had my braces for 3 years, and was given a retainer, as well as a rubber mouth guard looking thing that was meant to help with my overbite. I have several friends from high school that had their braces at the same time as me, and I can say I am the only one that still has straight teeth today (and no, I didn't wear my retainer as long as I was supposed to). Dr. Brian Nebbe was always very nice, very gentle, and obviously did a really great job on my teeth! I highly recommend using Align Orthodontics.

I tried two over clinics in the north side that came recommended but they could not get me in for a consultation for three months. I decided that those places were probably too busy to give me the kind of service that I wanted. The receptionist at Expressions is friendly and makes you feel welcome. I was able to get in quickly for a complimentary consultation ($150-$250) at other clinics. When I arrived, a technician came and took a series of x-rays and photographs for my file including the panoramic jaw x-Ray. She was nice and patient with me since some of the instruments are a touch uncomfortable. Once the picture session was done, I waited for Dr. Leong in an exam room. He is friendly and respected my concerns as well as my boundaries. I told him I would rather have crooked teeth than funny lips and that I wouldn't agree to any treatments that requires tooth extractions. He recommended three options with the expected duration of treatment and associated costs that day. I've had my braces on for almost a year now and I have to say that every visit to the clinic has been positive despite the pain that comes with braces. It is a clean facility with very friendly staff. Any time I have even a slight concern with my braces I can call or email and they can get me in quickly to resolve it. Service here is top notch and I would recommend to anyone looking for braces.

A complete character, but also very caring and professional. Not long into my treatment, I received a cancer diagnosis, and asked to speak to him privately about my care, because I was terrified and had no idea how to proceed. He took the time to tell me everything would be fine-- they could treat me in a private room, and they'd take every safety precaution they could. Fast forward a few months, I'm cancer free, and am nearing the end of the treatment (I know he's getting tired of me asking when these things can come off. LOL). When I signed the contract, I saw there was a Phase 2, which I inquired about. I was told "Don't worry about that!" My son got braces which he wore for a few years before they were removed. At that time I noticed that he did not have room for the right upper canine, so I returned to Pure Orthodontics and notified them about this, since no one there was ever discussing this issue. That same day I was informed that "we have to move to phase 2" which they told me before "don`t worry about it". Obviously, this cost me another few thousands! My son went back to wearing braces and is turning 15. Pure Orthodontics wanted to remove them in the spring, and I refused since his teeth were still misaligned after Pure Orthodontics attempted to "create room for the canine". Meanwhile, my husband got invisaligns with Pure Orthodontics. Once they finished his treatment, his teeth started slowly moving back, although he has been wearing the retainers at night as instructed. Then on July 20th, 2023 I took my younger son (12-year old) to Pure Orthodontics (West). I was informed that he needed braces "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE" and if we don't start "IMMEDIATELY" he would need surgery to open his gum and get some adult teeth pulled out. The financial advisor (Pure Orthodontics West) created a sense of urgency, almost made me panic. While I was working with her on signing the required papers, she kept mixing up my husband's name (Marian) with my older son's name (Andrei) on my younger son's contract (Alexandru). I had to correct her a few times and ask her why my older son's name (Andrei) would appear on my younger son's (Alexandru) contract. I was afraid that she would attempt to access Andrei's benefit again since he was still their client, too. Then, I requested a discount for family member since Alexandru would be the 3rd one coming there. This financial advisor said that she would give me $100. and asked me: "why do you care, you have enough money in your account and if I give you $100, it will go to the insurance." I left her office thinking that bringing my kid there for orthodontics would be a huge mistake since I felt like this financial advisor tried to scam me by creating a sense of urgency, denying to offer the family discount and than trying to get everything I had in my account. I must say that Pure Orthodontics LOST MY TRUST that day. So I decided to see another orthodontist and this is what I did. The new orthodontist my son saw asked me to take him to our dentist first, and have 3 baby teeth pulled out, work on his oral hygiene and return to his practice in about 5 weeks. They did not rush into asking me to sign papers, or creating a sense of urgency as the financial advisor I saw at Pure Orthodontics. When I booked the appointment with this orthodontist, I called Pure Orthodontics in August, informed that my son Andrei would never return there, cancel everything including the next appointment (in October) and close his file. We went to see the other orthodontist and I thought he would start my son's treatment with braces. Instead, he checked my son's oral hygiene and discussed again the available options (clear braces, metal braces and invisaligns), and asked us to book another appointment in December. That was the time when I was asked to sign the papers for the treatment which by the way was only $7900 (instead of $8999 at Pure Orthodontics). That same day I found out that Pure Orthodontics already charged my insurance $600. Later, I received an email from their financial manager asking about my son's cancelled appointment. I informed her that Pure Orthodontics was notified that Alexandru won't return there and he started being seen by another clinic. Next I was informed that I own Pure Orthodontics $2000 because I missed cancelling the contract with them within 10 days after signing it on July 20. They pretended that they scanned my child's teeth and ordered braces at that time. After having Alexandru consulted by another clinic, I wonder how the staff at Pure Orthodontics scanned my child's teeth and ordered braces before sending him first to our dentist to get his 3 baby teeth pulled out as the orthodontist at the second clinic did? Also, my next appointment with Pure Orthodontics was in Oct and they were notified about my son not returning there in August, so he did not start the treatment there at that time. Since I missed cancelling my son's contract with Pure Orthodontics within the first 10 days, I have to pay $2000 now for the lab fee associated with the orthodontic appliances made for my son. I requested them to give me these appliances and we`ll see what they say! Overall, the lack of professionalism displayed by the staff of Pure Orthodontics made me walk away and loose $2000 now after bringing a 3rd family there for orthodontic treatment.
