I go to the appointment and the kids play area was dirty and all of the colouring books already had been used- books all over the place. when the assistant came out to call me I could barely hear what she said and had to confirm she was calling us. She didnt introduce herself or give my child any attention which is unfortunate due to it being an appointment for him- a little extra communication and friendliness towards children goes a long way in their dental experience. She didn't give us any instructions we seated ourselves and then she just walked away. My child was confused and we didn't know what was happening - when the dentist finally came she didn't introduce herself and then acted confused as I was there. I explained my email and she again just acted like I was an inconvenience to her. she confirmed she didn't do what I needed and wouldn't give this device to my child. she then offered a different device and barely even looked at my child's teeth and bite that I was concerned about. this whole time she also didn't talk to my child and include him in the appointment. i already felt like I wasted my time travelling here and when i followed up about the device i wanted they basically told me to go somewhere else. So after i finished looking into this and wanted it she wasted my time again. WASTE OF TIME. so unprofessional

It's always hard to write a review for a service that you don't necessarily want to be attending anyway but the staff at Lakeside Dental have always made me feel comfortable and they take time to take about my family and life not just my dental health. As for pricing we have pretty great dental coverage but this office does seem to max out on what the insurance is willing to pay plus or minus a few dollars. Other then that I have no complaints and will definitely keep coming back for my dental needs.

I was told yes, that their x-ray film is small. (That was false) SO, When we went in, the hygenist was very nice and patient with my son, but the film was regular sized and he could't get the x-rays done. The male dentist came out and took a quick 35 second peek in my sons mouth, took me in his office, and suggested I take him to a psychologist to find out the real reason his mouth is soar.... PARDON ME? I had taken my son to the doctors office the day prior, determined he is healthy and was told to take him to the dentist. The only reason I didn't take him to our regular dentist is because they don't have the small film. I called numerous dental offices in the area to ask specific questions regarding the x-ray. They were the only office to tell me they could do it, except for the pediatric dentists that weren't booking in the forseeable future! I will NEVER go back there! I can't believe they charged me $65 for that! 35 seconds of the dentist looking in my childs mouth! I tried to explain that this is not the first time my child has been to the dentist, that he has had fillings before, that he is usually not nervous... the dentist said he didn't see any fillings!!!! WHAT??? He repeated that I have to take my child to a psychologist... Well, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure psychologists don't deal with teeth. So, I was charged for that.... and my childs mouth still hurts. This uninsured Momma will be calling around again...

My personal experience with Dr. Jesse Jacob at Signature Smilez Family Dental clinic, was…read moreunfortunately not positive. During treatment, a decision was made that resulted in weeks of ongoing pain and sleepless nights. Dr. Jacob told me she felt she had "made a bad call" regarding the treatment course and, due to the outcome, said she was "afraid to do any more work" on me. She recommended I see an endodontist for the next procedure, after which I would return to her care. I, too, was afraid to receive further treatment from her, given the level of pain I was enduring and what I perceived as a lack of empathy. I experienced my first panic attack in a dental office during this visit and left feeling unsupported and unsafe. I walked out in pain and confusion -- an extremely upsetting and stressful experience. I also observed interactions with staff that made me uncomfortable. At times, her tone seemed harsh or belittling, which contributed to the overall tense atmosphere during my visits. I eventually had the work completed by another dentist. That provider showed compassion and understanding of my situation, which I was incredibly grateful for. Dr. Jacob still insisted on full payment for the services I felt were incomplete or unsatisfactory. When I raised concerns, I felt unheard, dismissed, and invalidated during our interactions. Additionally, I found the process of obtaining a clear, itemized invoice unnecessarily difficult. I had to request it multiple times, and the office refused to provide an itemized breakdown to show full transparency of all costs, which only added to my frustration. They would only continually reference what they had sent to my insurance company as a predetermination. While I've had nothing but positive experiences with other dentists throughout my life, this experience left me feeling anxious and deeply uncomfortable about seeking any future dental care -- something I had never experienced before. If you're looking for a clinic that offers compassionate care, strictly follows the Alberta Dental Fee Guide, and provides transparent, upfront information about pricing -- including details surrounding "professional fees", you may want to consider other options. I encourage reading a full range of reviews across various platforms, including the negative ones, to form a more complete picture before booking. I wish I had done so beforehand. There's an old saying: people might not remember what you said, but they'll always remember how you made them feel. I will never forget how trusting Dr. Jacob made me feel -- dismissed, anxious, and unsupported at a time when I was in pain and needed empathetic care. This review reflects my personal experience and opinion and is shared in good faith to help others make informed decisions
