After the procedure, I kept going back because something clearly wasn't right. Instead of addressing the problem, they repeatedly prescribed antibiotics and insisted nothing was wrong. Over time, I saw multiple dentists trying to get answers, but no one wanted to take responsibility or properly investigate. (created a ton of fear) I was essentially passed from one office to another with no resolution. Nearly nine years later, I finally found a dentist who took my concerns seriously and referred me to an endodontist. The specialist confirmed that the original root canal had failed they missed a canal. It had been overfilled, which caused a pocket in my jaw that repeatedly became infected. For years, I was dealing with chronic infections, with my mouth flaring up every month or so, and no one acknowledging the real cause. The dentist who performed the procedure claimed to be a specialist, but based on the outcome, the quality of work was unacceptable. This wasn't just a minor issue--it led to long-term damage and significant health complications. I've dealt with chronic inflammation, recurring infections, and even hospital visits due to blood infections that were never properly traced back to the source at the time. I paid for professional care and trusted this office, and after 4 hours in a chair and thousands later in return, I was left dealing with the consequences of a failed procedure that no one would take responsibility for. It took nearly a decade to finally get a clear diagnosis and validation of what I had been experiencing the entire time.(keep in mind I couldn't live on antibiotics either so no medication to heal it or prevent infection or I'd end up immune to them if I did) I would strongly caution others to seek second opinions and ensure they are getting proper care, because my experience here resulted in years of unnecessary pain and avoidable health issues. Also fun fact for anybody getting work done anywhere,did you know your body suffering with constant inflammation and infection, like from failed dental work, ya it could cause blood sugar issues.... When the doctor finally came, he only looked at my son's teeth for less than a minute and simply said that the teeth were too crooked to fix. That was it -- there are nothing to do. What's worse, they still charged us around $140 for basically doing nothing. I understand consultation fees, but this felt completely unreasonable and unprofessional. I have never had a bad experience when going in for my yearly check up, getting a mouth guard created or for the dental emergency. The staff have always been really pleasant and friendly and even when there was a scheduling mix up, they did their best to accommodate my needs. Dr. Yeh has always been really good about answering any questions I might have about my teeth, procedures and what to expect. I recommend this clinic to people all the time and most of my family have seen Dr. Yeh at one point or another. An extra bonus is that they have clinics in multiple locations (Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, UofA). We all know going to the dentist isn't exactly a top activity on the fun list but at least the Smiles Dental Group makes it as tolerable and pleasant as possible :)

Dr.Hadeel Al-bazzaz was able to keep my son calm and get the x-rays. We just went for our third cavity to get fixed. Before going I asked my son what he thought. He said he's not scared of the dentist. This kid is scared or nervous of almost everything. While we were there I can see why. They are always playing games to distract him. I drove an hour and a half so my son has the best care. I believe it is important to keep giving him positive experience with the dentist. So he isn't nervous like me when it's my turn to go. If I could give this clinic and this doctor more stars I definitely would! I also always get a call to check on the kids after they get a procedure for anything more then a cleaning. To make sure he is comfortable and feeling amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this dental office. My son had seen 2 dentist prior to us coming here. Dr. Mueller dropped in on a recent Hygiene appointment with Vivian who continues to provide me with up to date education on oral care. Dr. Mueller recommended repair of a number of teeth on my lower jaw that had become eroded and cracked over a period of decades. I booked an appointment and was pleasantly surprised that the repair was completed in less that an hour without local anesthetic. Basically a bit of tooth preparation proceeded application of an epoxy that dried in a matter of minutes. Following testing to ensure proper bite and polishing the procedure was done. I regret that I had not done this procedure years prior as I no longer feel the rough edges of the teeth that had eroded. Dr. Mueller had a chuckle when I confused him(he was wearing a mask and cap) with his son. I was also very impressed with Dr. Muellers' text to me the next day to check if any problems had occurred as a result of the procedure. Thanks to the Dental Center I continue to enjoy the benefits of a high level of oral health.

Albert Dental and asked that any appointment that need to be booked please call me and tell me for who, when and the amount. That seems like a simple request honestly, but in 1.5 year going there this was NEVER done, but oddly I could be contacted afterwards to pay. I called and emailed numerous times please please talk to me first (not everything dental is necessary to do right then, some things can wait for extra health spending account to restart, etc), but I had never been contacted about it. Literally 4 or more people at the front desk so short staffed isn't an issue. Fast forward to April and May this year and not shockingly more unauthorized services were made. I asked them who made them and why I wasn't contacted and I was told they aren't sure but it could have been my daughter (who is a minor, but again it shouldn't matter because it is their duty to contact me beforehand for appointments). Super super disorganized and lacking basic communication skills. Now I have opened a complaint for unauthorized charges to my blue cross due to them. This is the first time I have ever seen a dental office that does whatever they want and thinks they never have to speak to the person beforehand. Avoid this disorganized place who can only communicate when they want a bill paid and lets minors authorize dental work. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: On August 16, 2024 I received a notice from collections, I sent them the note below as well as 5 screenshots of me asking to PLEASE PLEASE call or email me beforehand with WHAT WORK IS REQUIRED, and PRICE. Something that was never done despite me calling again and again requesting it. (note they blamed other people despite me asking them to contact me directly) UPDATE 2: A few days later I was called (what a novel idea) and Nikki left me a voicemail stating they have accepted some responsibility, but wanted me to accept some too (oddly I am the one that called after every appointment requesting they contact me beforehand with all the information and I was told "next time"). Nikki stated she wanted me to cover some of the bill because the collections agency requires 30-40% of the bill (apparently it is my job to pay collections agency they sent for me as well). Nikki then brought up how I unsubscribed from their texts (yes, their automated texts which don't give me any information as to the cost and what is being done. If these texts are sufficient in their eyes for what I requested, they should all be laid off and their jobs can be replaced by AI and the savings can be passed along to customers by charging lower than the ADA guidelines and not higher like this Dental office does). She also requested that I remove my "very detailed 1 star review from Google" (That's called censorship and it isn't happening. This is just blackmail because they don't want their horrible communication skills shown). She also mentioned that she has a contract I signed stating that if insurance doesn't pay for it, then I have to (yes, this is the same as any contract. If a business completes an agreed upon service, then it is their job to pay for it. This is not authorization for a business to continue to do an infinite amount of work and not bother to contact the person before the work is completed. A dental office is no different.) VOICEMAIL cannot be attached here Update 3: I told the collections agency I will not be paying as it is unauthorized but obviously only caring about the business paying them, they sent it to my credit bureau. But I will be filing a complaint to Equifax/TransUnion. I won't be removing this review because people need to know the horrible practices of this company (I am saving you thousands of $). Something I have never experienced at a Dental office before. Update: I spoke to collections and he asked for proof to authorization on Sept 23. Today Oct 3 they responded (screenshot #6) and i responded to him (screenshot #7).
