I called the toll free phone# on the email and spoke with George on Saturday. Yes, someone answered the phone on Saturday!!! George was super helpful and answered all my questions and concerns. The price he quoted me was reasonable and within my budget. He said Patrice will be in touch on Monday. As promised, Patrice reached out to me on Monday. We worked out the logistic and she sent me the invoice and contract by Tuesday morning. I signed the contract and paid the invoice right away and received the headsets on Thursday afternoon via Fedex. I was able to set up and test the headsets before my party on Friday night. The entire process was smooth and flawless and it happened within one week! Patrice is professional and attentive. She made sure I had everything I need and she even sent me few extra headsets! I DJed a private house party of about 100+ people on the Peninsula over the weekend and used Silent Storm to put a little twist on the party. I am a part-time mobile DJ in the SF Bay Area, and have done over 100 corporate events, weddings, and private parties, and this was in my top 2-3 I've ever done as a DJ! First of all, working with Patrice was super easy. She is lightning fast on the response time, and sends detailed instructions on how to set up and send back the equipment. But it honestly was way easier than I thought it would be. Set up was a breeze, and when the sun went down, I turned on the headphones, they started flashing on the table and suddenly people were grabbing the headsets and dancing to one of three channels - the blue channel was my live mix (open format, top 40, 90s and 00s hip hop, classic bangers), the red channel was a pre-mix I made of 80s alternative and pop, and the green channel was my mix of guilty pleasures - Vanilla Ice, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Mambo No. 5. There was a little something for everyone, so no one left the dance floor! The party was only supposed to go until 11:30, and around midnight, I noticed a lot of the people going to their phones - they were calling their babysitters to extend their time at the party - we went to 1am and people still were wanting to dance more! It was great because with the noise ordinance in that neighborhood, the cops would have come at 10pm. But there were no complaints from any neighbors. I did this for my bday in July (Covid so it was less than 15 people). I am so happy with my silent disco experience. I planned it in less than a week & everything went smooth. I compared 3 places & this was the cheapest + good reviews. I worked with Patrice & she communicated everything clear & fast. We had a couple headsets mess up but they gave me more equipment than I requested so they were switched out fast. You have access to somebody 24/7 if anything goes wrong but we never had any issues. The set up was fast & easy. Everybody had such a great time! Allll ages had fun! Even the people that didn't wear the headsets had a blast. Silent Storm was phenomenal for the silent disco at our wedding! Our guests LOVED it. We had two stations, one for techno and one for oldies/motown. We first had a band and then silent disco and the guests went absolutely wild for it. Everyone was dancing and singing (which sounds hilarious when you take the headphones off!). Delivery and return were easy. Silent disco was a HUGE hit at my party. The range of the headphones was perfect. Only downside was the white headphones were not aesthetically appealing as the wear and tear of use had cracked the ear pads and yellowed them. The black headphones had looks of wear, but it wasn't as noticeable because of the color. However, they worked perfectly and the look of the headphones was such a minor detail. My first silent disco experience was at my friend's wedding last October and it was a huge hit. The wedding was in our backyard (we live on a court) and so being able to switch to the silent disco at 9:30 pm really helped to keep the neighbors happy. They helped me elevate my son's 8th grade graduation party to a truly amazing event. People are still talking about it!! The pick up / drop off is extremely convenient. The silent disco was a HUGE hit at our wedding. Everyone loved it. Great way to end the night, and an especially great option for an event like ours that was outdoors in a park, where there are noise restrictions preventing a traditional sound system. I'd really recommend the Storm Trooper headsets, which come with three channels and lights on the headsets -- the sound quality was excellent, and it was really fun to see who was on which channel (as indicated by the lights). George was also really helpful in being able to provide a portable battery pack to power the silent disco, a nice workaround because our venue didn't have any electrical outlets. The three-star review is because George's communication was pretty on-and-off throughout the entire 6+ months we worked with him leading up to our event. His initial email, which he sent in response to a quote I submitted through Silent Storm's website, was extremely prompt and informative. I felt great about it, thanked him promptly, and received a prompt reply asking me to let him know if there was anything they could do to win my business (his words). After that initial exchange, every email I sent after that would regularly take a week and at least one, if not two, follow-up emails before I got a reply from him. That would have been fine except that the same was true in the final two weeks leading up to the wedding, when I was trying to confirm with him that everything was all lined up for us to receive the headsets via FedEx and that we'd be able to figure out how to set up the silent disco without having seen any of the equipment until the morning of the wedding. When I didn't hear from him after a week (with three days to go until the wedding), I called him and left a voicemail. George called back a couple of hours later. By that point, I'd decided that I'd feel better asking a friend to pick up the equipment in person from San Francisco the day before the wedding, rather than see if the equipment would indeed turn up at our local FedEx the morning of. (I was even happy to cut the losses on the shipping costs we had already paid as part of our contract.) I made arrangements with George over the phone to have the headsets picked up in SF. He gave me the pickup address and said he would send a follow-up email with the address and details. He didn't. The day of the pickup, I got a call from my friend saying he couldn't find the address George had told me over the phone. I called George and he provided the correct address. Then I got a text from George a minute later saying that he thought we had made arrangements for the equipment to be shipped to my local FedEx the next morning? This was literally two days after I had talked with George on the phone. It turned out the headsets weren't ready for pickup from the address my friend was going to; the headsets were still charging. George apologized and offered to deliver the headsets himself the next day (the day of the wedding) to anywhere that would be convenient for me. I told him we'd be setting up at the wedding venue in the morning. He instead offered a delivery window of 2-3pm. The wedding started at 4pm. I asked him to deliver the headsets to the house we were getting ready at, which would be cutting it close but still doable. George arrived at 3:15pm, just in time to catch us before we needed to leave the house to go get married. Then, because we hadn't had the equipment in time to set up the silent disco beforehand, the only logistics I really needed to worry about during the wedding reception was when and how to set up the silent disco. We ended up having some heroic friends take some time out of the partying to figure it out for us. All of that to say: the silent disco ended up being really fantastic and fun, and worth even the hassle. But of all of the wedding vendors we worked with, Silent Storm was the only one that I wasn't sure would actually come through, which is nerve-wracking when you're coordinating so many different moving pieces. George is nice and seems really friendly, but I found him to be unreliable. Proceed expecting a great time but a lot of follow-up and nail-biting beforehand. read more

I've used them twice now, both times "off road" in Joshua Tree National Park - I've got my own personal portable battery but Silent Storm also rents them.
