We booked a Saturday at 12pm 90 minute tour and were told to arrive at about 11:30am. They let us board at that time - you need to present your online ticket / print out at the ticket booth and then they give you tickets to the boat. The boat itself has a downstairs area with port side with one women's bathroom and starboard side with one women's and one men's bathroom. You'll learn what port/starboard means during the tour. The bar with alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks and snacks is on the first level. The second level has an area with a covered space in the back and seats open to the air on the front. Since it was a hotter day, my husband and I chose to sit on the bottom of the boat. We thought the best view there was at the front where you get a nice 180 degree view through the windows. We enjoyed the information on the tour and all the great views!

We talked on the phone and were able to set up a time for our boat cruise. Meeting at the Riviera dock was easy (he called prior to let us know what he was wearing and what the boat looked like so it was easy to spot him). The boat ride was so enjoyable! We brought some snacks and wine to enjoy while we learned more about Lake Geneva and the houses in the area. The sunset was pretty spectacular too! Thanks Capt Thom! He even gave us all flowers to make a wish on for the bride, it was very sweet! There's plenty of parking nearby but it's all metered. Plan for at least two hours. There were clear signs leading the way to the dock, and someone on standby to direct you to the correct boat. We were excited to be going on Kohler's "Industry in Action" factory tour and to see the…read moremanufacturing of the great Kohler products, from vitreous china lavatory products, to cast iron tubs and to plumbing products. The tours are offered every weekday morning at 8:30am and reservations are required. Check-in at the Design Center, where the tour originates. Guests must be at least 14 years of age and must wear enclosed footwear. You are provided safety glasses and a narration headset and no cameras are allowed. Our tour guide was Elmer, who was a retired 40+ year employee of Kohler. He guided us through the three factory buildings which housed the vitreous china products manufacturing, as well as the cast iron and plumbing products. You could sense the pride that Elmer had in Kohler in his narration during the tour. We also went to the Kohler Arts/Industry Program center were we met the rotating artists that come into Kohler to create art pieces. The three hour tour ends back at the Design Center where you can browse through the displays of all the Kohler products and visit the Kohler Museum located in the lower level. A great tour to observe manufacturing in action. Best of all, the tour is free of admission.
