When we went to make our annual appointments only to be told that our P.A. of nearly all those years was no longer with the practice!! It would have been nice to have been told before that. Anyway, we were assigned someone new and, because I have high blood pressure that has been uncontrollable, the new MD told me all heart related topics should be handled by my cardiologist from now on. Fair enough! So, along with our trusted P.A. leaving the practice, they have hired a downright NASTY woman to call and remind me that I am old and must be seen far more frequently than annually or they won't refill my prescriptions! Fortunately the the Cardiologist is conducting monthly tests as he adjusts my BP meds which include blood tests. Every single result is sent to my Primary Care practice as well as Cardiology. When I explain this to Ms. NASTY, she tells me I still must come in to be seen by them. Why? So they can make more money. I'm sorry but I find that just plain crooked. So, as of three days ago I have no more Metformin 509mg and they call that "care"?

I require alternative communication (CART and non verbal). Telegraph Family Corner Medicine changed telemedicine appointment time twice which is incredibly destructive thing to do to an Autistic person. I cannot cope with changes in routine. Dr. Brian Carty staff was supposed to send me link to accessible telemedicine conference. Time of appointment came and went - and no link. I later discovered that Dr. Brian Carty CALLED me on my cell phone and left multiple voicemails. If I could communicate via telephone, I would not be requesting alternative communication, would I? I gave my email address to Telegraph Family Corner Medicine before so they should have had it. Telegraph Family Corner Medicine do not even have contact email on their website. Their website is 100% inaccessible to users of alternative communication. I cannot express how much I am hurt by this discrimination. I have coronavirus and am suffocating from it. All I needed was medication. Autistic people stay away from Telegraph Family Corner Medicine.

For younger patients, he told me that he is still accepting insurance. They way it works for direct care, is that for Medicare patients you pay SignatureMD $1800 per year. Due to the crazy rules of Medicare you can't give him the money. They do. He also will bill your insurance-Medicare and secondary. With the direct care agreement, he will call you and/or text you the very same day. With the money conversation out of the way (isn't it sad that medical care is first about money, then also about care), I think that Dr. Zahalsky does a very good job. FIrst of all, I think he's smart and thinks things through. Second, he genuinely cares. Next, he will make sure that if you were to need to see a high quality specialist, he'll make sure that you obtain an appointment. There is not much more I can ask. The medical care system is broken. Everyone recognizes this. Everybody feels like a insignificant cog in a money system. Doctors and nurses all seem to be burned out. I chose to spend some money so that Dr. Z can afford to spend some time with me-I had a full one hour appointment. I was able to ask each and every one of my questions and have them answered. Paying $1800/yr is not something that everyone can afford. I know that. But if you can pony up the dough, I think it's worth it.

It's possible that the high blood pressure was due to dining out about 20 times a week--I am on Yelp, after all. He didn't even ask, or let me explain my poor eating habits. I solved the issue myself by watching my sodium intake and eating more fruits and vegetable I won't hold it against him that the two specialists he recommended were not helpful. I should have done my own research.
