As a resident of Cromwell, I've driven by Green Lotus many times, but today was the first time I decided to give it a try, and it was a great choice! I called Green Lotus late in the afternoon inquiring about an appointment for facial waxing either tonight or tomorrow night - and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in tonight. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from Monica, and she offered to hang up my coat and get me a drink. My appointment with Vanessa went very well - she introduced herself with a handshake and conversed with me throughout the appointment. I have some skin sensitivities and allergies, and Vanessa discussed these with me prior to my appointment and added them to my record. It even printed that I had an allergy on my receipt - so I'm very pleased to know they take that matter seriously! She really took her time and didn't rush through the service. If I were to describe both employees I dealt with, I'd say: Processional & Friendly. They both deserve a ton of credit for their great customer service - something that seems rare these days. The salon is very clean and the waxing room had soft, relaxing music in the background and a soothing fountain. I thought the price was reasonable and ended up booking a future appointment. I should have called but everything happened so quickly that I honestly was not thinking about the days appointments. I was unable to pick up my phone when they called but when I realized what had happened I called right back from the hospital. They do not answer their phone so I left a message and sent an email explaining what happened, I received no response and they charged me $185.00 for missing the appt. My message stated that I understood I would need to pay a cancellation fee and asked if under the circumstances if they could refund part of the $185.00 Well as I said there was no response. I would have been a very good client for these people as I would have utilized a number of their services on an ongoing basis. I did make a mistake but I think this is a very bad way to do business and a terrible way to take advantage of someone. Sometimes things just happen!

I called her around 4:45p.m. to see if she can schedule me out a little later around 5:45pm-6:00pm. She said 5:45pm would be the latest. I told her I would call her back shortly to confirm the appointment as I didn't want her waiting for me. Mind you, life happens and we are all human. I had a medical appointment earlier in the afternoon which I couldn't make it too due to my hectic work schedule. I had to go to that appointment directly after work, hence my request for a later time. I called Bev at 5:15pm, and yes it was short notice but I genuinely was trying to see if I would still make the 5:45pm appointment even after my medical appointment as it was close to my job. She automatically went "ugh" on the phone then questioned what town I was in... I also apologized to her as I never cancel appointments. She proceeds to say, "you only gave me 15 min but okay thank you" with an entire attitude then hangs up. Mind you, 5:45pm would be a half hour notice not 15min. SHE THEN PROCEEDS to send a cancellation notice through the app with the following message: "this special person cancelled within 15 min notice, gave bs excuse. Tell all fellow esthies about this one". LITERALLY THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL thing a business owner could say or do. Now I'm special? That's literally crazy. I am so glad I dodged the bullet with this one. I even attached the photo for proof. Next time you shouldn't assume someone's situation before getting mad someone cancelled. I don't know you, and you don't know me. It's not like we have worked with each other in the past and I cancel left and right. What a great way to bring new clients in.

She catered to our needs as we don't really wear makeup often. We did not look overdone and like we had on tons, it was very natural. She was patient, warm and kind and did a beautiful job.
