My son went to this dentist shortly after coming out of the NICU. I called in and explained that my son was high risk and we were scared to have him around other children during the visit. He accommodated us and we are so grateful! He came in early and kept the area clear for us and examined my son privately. He was gentle, patient and professional. I have taken my daughter to silly smiles since she was around 3 years old, and now I take my son as well. I absolutely love all the staff and dr. Copes. They always know how to calm down my daughter with the right words and always tell her that's it's ok to be scared. They do not give her the big girls must be brave speech. Silly smiles is now a 30 minute drive from my house but I wouldn't change them for any other place. As for them not accommodating breastfeeding moms, I never had a problem breastfeeding while being at this facility. read more

My son and I left his cleaning appointment in tears today. I've never quite experienced anything like it. My son was scared and was having trouble keeping his tongue down or out of the way. I was sitting right there and still don't quite understand why the doctor all the sudden got up and refused to finish the cleaning calling my son "oppositional". He basically ushered us out and had his assistant print our dental records and write a referral to another office. I get it. Children can be challenging. He is supposed to be a pediatric dentist though. His response and treatment of us didn't match anything my son was doing. All this in his open office in front of another patient. It didn't help that the child that went before my son was crying uncontrollably when she went back. Her and her mother weren't referred out though. It's just my son heard it and got freaked out. If you have a child that won't sit perfectly or maybe needs a bit more emotional support then this isn't the place for you. read more

Discriminated against a mother simply breastfeeding her child! The unprofessional manner in which the discrimination was done is sickening. I would never take my child here to be forced into a cleaning either. If my child is thrashing about then as a pediatric dentistry YOU should have the tools and skills to comfort my child during this visit. We had a horrific experience at another pediatric dental office in the area so my 8 year old son is so reluctant and that is putting it mildly. Let me start by saying.... They listened to me explain my son's fears as if I were talking about their relative. Then they took him back letting me be present the entire time. They comforted him and helped calm his nerves and were able to complete a difficult tooth extraction as well as a crown. The dentist kept me well informed and made sure all of my questions were answered. The office staff were friendly and very efficient. My daughter has been coming to this office since she was a year old and she is now almost 7. I love how the office staff is professional , caring and nice. I absolutely love the hygienist and the actual dentist. They are always pleasant and friendly. As far as the other review about breastfeeding , I have never experienced anything other than pure professionalism , and courtesy when visiting this office. Keep up the good work guys!! Ever since our 1st visit to Silly Smiles 3 years ago, I've recommended them to other parents without hesitation. The doctors and staff are just so good with my daughter. However, today I was inspired to write this review because the receptionist went above and beyond. I sent my girl in with her grandfather without remembering that we'd recently changed insurance. When my dad called I couldn't remember the new company and wasn't immediately able to find out. The receptionist was able to use my info and her computer skills to figure out the new insurance and bill appropriately. I was thrilled! read more

I am utterly appalled by the way this PEDIATRIC dental office practices. My son who isn't even 4 y/o has to have (in my opinion) major dental work done. They expected me to help hold him down while they attempted to do the work . And even suggested using a papoose board to restrain him since he wasn't very cooperative! I spoke to other pediatric dentists as well as my pediatrician and they were all in agreement that neither of those things should be done. Thankfully mama instinct kicked in and I hightailed it out of there. Stay away if you have a heart. Mine was nearly broken that day when I saw the look in my son's eyes when he was laying in that chair! read more
