Here are my praises about hiring Mokoi at every step of the process: --Estimate and Proposal: Owner Viliami Mokoi came to inspect the work to be done, offered his recommendations from his years of experience, and put the specific descriptions of the work to be done in a written proposal (total of 4 proposals), including details I wanted to add, such as locks on the vinyl gates and installing a mailbox in the wall. I tried to obtain estimates from other contractors, but no one else was willing to do all the work such as removing roots and foliage and running underground pipes on all three sides of the house for the drainage system. --Superb Workmanship: I am still admiring the 2-tiered rock walls that are beautiful and solid (see photo). To install the underground drainage system, the crew had to use heavy equipment to excavate the jungle surrounding the house and haul in gravel to cover the pipes. The area is now clear and spacious with a hidden drainage system ready for heavy rain from hurricane and Kona low storms. Manoa rain and worker shortages caused delays in work, but the crew made up time by working hard and fast when they could. During the whole time, Vili texted to me about the progress of the work and promptly answered my questions. I am very pleased with the final products of the built walls and installed drainage system as well the patched concrete wall and leveled sidewalk. --Five Star Clean-Up: The crew hauled out all the piles of debris from the jobs and even swept up. The contractor Wendell is always on site and he is always available via text, phone and in person if we have any problems or concerns. We did not have any problems and even if any occur, we have 100% confidence that WG Construction will step in to fix with no hesitation. From the work that we have seen (we live on the property and have watched the work everyday) everything is done according to all the DPP rules and regulations, and definitely meets building standards. We have had building inspectors, electrical inspectors, and structural engineers, all come to the build and have had no problems or concerns and everything has been approved by DPP. I am unsure how the other reviewers said things were below standards, cause if that were true then there is no way DPP building inspectors would have allowed the permit to close and issue notice of occupancy. The area next to the steps and along the front of the house needed a retaining wall to hold the soil and clean up the slope. Their crew came out, walked the space with me, and explained how they would build the wall and shape the curve so it would look natural with the yard and the house. They also talked about the base and drainage so it would hold up long-term. The work itself was done efficiently and the crew was easy to work with. They prepped the base, set the blocks carefully, and made sure the curve of the wall flowed nicely along the front of the yard instead of just building a straight line. They kept the job site pretty clean and checked in along the way to make sure everything looked right. The finished wall looks great and really improves the front of the house. It's solid, level, and the curve gives the landscaping a much cleaner look than what was there before. Overall, a very positive experience. If you need retaining wall or landscaping work done, Blessed Construction LLC is definitely worth considering.

Of the few companies that I did get a quote from, Blessed Construction was able to do all the work. When stubborn tree roots got in the way of my vision, Efoti came up with an alternative. Needless to say, his plan was pretty epic & I can't be happier!! He kept me updated every step of the way. Efoti & his crew were professional & respectful and were very careful to keep things clean and organized. I was not mistaken. the lead worker, Fainga was excellent - timely, conscientious, responsive, and worked hard to complete the scope of the job - involving grouting a 60-year old walls, replacing fallen stones, staining the grout and concrete tops. I would recommend highly, but I know the work product of Fainga only.

Job was completed with mediocre workmanship, broken promises and up charges. When I questioned James on the charges he refused to review his copy of the contract, called me a liar and threatened to have his guys demolish the work that was completed. By far my worst contractor experience ever. His crew used my landscaping as trash cans and left pieces of gravel all over my grass.
