Silver eagle has a great concept with poor execution. The RSO's seem un attentive and talk to customers instead of keeping their eyes on people discharging firearms. One gentleman was shooting with his hands and pistol across the firing line for over 30 minutes. RSO did nothing as I was chronically showered with the brass of every shot of my neighbor. It's expected to get hit with brass sometimes, but c'mon. Seems like a good deal at the cost for safety. XCal makes me feel a lot safer shooting than at SEG. Also heard an RSO turned in someone to federal authorities for dumbly using an FRT on a rental weapon. Said person was charged and had to spend thousands for the case to get dismissed, because he did nothing illegal. read more

I really like this range. I've gone as a guest a few times with friends. The staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They have a retail section, private event rooms, a briefing room and an option to rent guns just to try them. I really like the gun rental feature. The only thing is dislike, that they have little control over, is I always end up next to someone shooting a massive and loud gun. The last time their brads was even flying over and hitting me in the face while I was shooting. I wish this range wasn't all the way out in Ashburn and I'd likely become a member otherwise. It's just a tad too far from my place for me to use it often enough to make a membership worth it. read more

I took an intro class here, and it was a great experience. It was one of the longest level 1 classes offered in the area that I could find, and it was well worth it. There were three stages of the class. The first was in a classroom, the second was in a separate room with rubber guns, and the last was in the range. For the last two sections, they even had a second instructor so we all got plenty of personal attention to help with stance, grip, trigger pull, etc. I was very nervous to be honest once we got into the range but the two instructors hovered above each student making sure we were safe and applying the lessons. Top tier experience. I would recommend this to anyone even if you don't plan on being a regular gun person to at least take that intro class. read more

I'm a fairly new, younger shooter that wants to get better with more range time, having indoor ranges being my only accessible option. I've been to SEG a handful of times having newer inexperienced friends, as well as range time alone which have generally been on par experiences. (Nothing special to write a positive review I could suggest others to use this range) Although as of today, I'm on the fence returning - having an encounter with a specific RSO (JR Moraority - Older bald gentleman). With my own wrong doing.. I had 4 shots marked high above the designated 6'2" target area shooting my EDC from 20 yards - high ready doing 2 rounds and repeat for one magazine only. With that being said; the RSO mentioned immediately stopped me and issued a short & smug warning that any more high shots, and I would be sent out for the day. (Not disagreeing thats unfair by any means) I acknowledged my mistakes and respectfully apologized; RSO then proceeded to walk off to another booth and speak rudely about me to another CUSTOMER... His words exact: "This young kid's got all this fancy gear and backwards hat, but he's shooting the ceiling" "Money sure can't buy you skill" Chuckling like I wouldn't hear him.. After that, I glance at other lanes noticing another gentleman shooting a rifle had maybe a dozen non-marked high shots being there longer than I have with zero warning whatsoever. I continued to use up the rest of my range time with RSO specifically hovering me after every magazine spent feeling targeted for my entire remainder. I've never had any issues with other RSO's, and generally do their job well maintaining safety and being helpful best they can. But today felt very disrespectful and discouraging from the mentioned RSO above. I felt rudely targeted for being young, fairly inexperienced, and well dressed I guess? Will also be writing to their customer service about this experience with little hopes of it going anywhere on their end... That being said, I can't recommend having high expectations of feeling welcome or encouraged to come back regularly unless you're a well experienced shooter that decides their monthly membership is worth the range time. read more

My husband owns a few guns that I never touch but since they're in the house, we decided it would probably be a good idea for me to learn to use them so my he brought me here yesterday. I REALLY want to thank the staff for their kindness and patience. Guns are new to me so the idea of holding a deadly weapon in my hands is still really scary. I wish I got the RSO's name, his customer service was above and beyond. He was a larger gentleman who saw me struggling and ready to quit. Came by and gave some great tips on positioning, basically held my hand through the nerve-wracking experience so by the end of our hour I was actually having fun! Dude deserves a raise. SEG's Racism On Full Display!! RSOs and management find it completely fine for another guest, a white woman, to shoot at a life-like paper target of an unarmed Osama Bin Laden, but consider it "against their policy" for me, a black man, to shoot at a life-like paper target of an armed white man during the same shooting time as the white patron. RSO only approached me about my target after the other patron had left and then claimed that they had not seen the other guest shooting the Osama Bin Laden target, which was a lie because the RSO stood behind her, critiqued her shots, and joked with her, and her guest. It's very convenient for SEG to pick and choose when to and for whom they enforce their so-called 'range policies,' which cannot be seen as anything other than a double standard and, yes, racist! read more

I paid silver eagle to remove a muzzle device. When they returned the muzzle device and upper, the muzzle device was absolutely destroyed (they had clearly used pliers on the tines of the muzzle device, as the tines were bent, twisted, and completely scuffed up). Looking back, it was plainly obvious that they did something wrong, and in retrospect I should have done a more thorough investigation at the time - lesson learned. Their response at the time regarding the muzzle device was, "yeah those MCX muzzle devices are notoriously hard to get off", but they had nothing else to say or add. I later learned (thanks to SIG's armorers) that silver eagle also damaged the barrel, upper, and gas block, and even worse, they attempted to hide the damage by covering up gouges in the barrel - damage that quite literally could have blown up in my face and killed me. When I brought SIG's findings up to silver eagle, they ignored me for over a month, and when they finally responded they tried to blame everybody but themselves, even though no one else, including myself, has ever done any gunsmithing work on the firearm (which I purchased factory new). In summary, I paid silver eagle $80 to cause $500+ damage my firearm and then intentionally put my safety at risk, so needless to say I will never spend another dollar here ever again. If you care at all about your property or your health/life, I strongly recommend, at bare minimum, that you never take a firearm to silver eagle for any gunsmithing/armorers work. read more

An incredibly professional operation. I was so impressed by the instructors we had for our Intro to Handguns course. I had never held a gun, knew nothing about its parts, and was honestly very anxious about the whole experience. But the training was broken down into such deliberate and thoughtful phases that by the time we moved on to live rounds, I felt much more comfortable. We started with a PowerPoint explainer, then practiced loading magazines, loading and cocking a Glock, worked on our shooting stance with laser training guns, and finally moved into the range. Everything is Five stars at this range. Our group of 5 girls had some new shooters and the staff was amazingly accommodating. We had heard good things but glad they lived up to the hype. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful getting signed in. Reggie back in Merchandise was the star of the day. He gave us the safety course and then helped us pick out what we wanted to rent. The RSO was the most patient and helpful person we could have asked for. The whole establishment was very clean, knowledgeable and fun to be at. We will be going back for sure. For 5 girls, one hour of range time, two range lanes, two guns rented, 4 packs of bullets, it cost around $200. Perfect place to get a beginner started and an experienced shooter practice. read more

Possible the best shooting range I've experienced in the DMV area. Very professional and knowledgeable. I've never rent to shoot but they seem to have a large selection. Lanes are clear and personal are on hand for any situation. They also have a pretty nice lounge for large parties or events. Damn right I support the second amendment, and the gun free zones infringe on law abiding citizens, along with making everyone less safe. This is a awesome store. It has a place to purchase firearms, and I got my Glock .380 mini stunner and think a Glock .45 here too. They are extremely competitive. Plus they really know their firearms. That's very helpful for all levels of experience. Was tempted today by several models, but probably will be back eventually for another. Good ammo prices, so that and some other supplies were obtained. The range here is super fun, well maintained. I applaud the men and women range masters, for being vigilant. Also I love the layout. Generally I prefer an outdoor one. Yet this one is high tech, so there are a lot of options. That makes it worth "having a blast." Range Officers here seem to double down when clearly mistaken, defaulting to "what I say goes" attitude. This was the case when I placed a HOLSTERED pistol in a range bag that the witnessing RO assumed was unholstered. I was immediately scorned by the RO. When I told him, and he realized, the gun was holstered, he said that doesn't matter you cant handle a firearm here. I said ok and left, perplexed. Perhaps the response "oh, didn't see it was in a holster my bad", an honest mistake made by RO's all the time, would have saved this place from me never returning. And BTW the narrative I am describing here was much more polite than what actually steamed out of his mouth at the time. Poor demeanor for a person working a firearms range. You were wrong and punished me for it anyways. Shame on you RO. Go deliver newspapers or something that doesn't involve interacting with the public. read more

I was at Silver Eagle yesterday, and my AR was having problems. It was jammed pretty badly, and I was struggling to get it unjammed. Steve, the Range officer watching the range at the time, saw me struggling and came up to me and helped me with my situation. He was very helpful and informative and went as far as getting oil for my gun and taking it apart to lube it up. I had a great experience here. I've shot here many times, and every time, it's a great experience. If you are looking for a great shooting range in Loudoun County, I definitely recommend coming here. read more

I would give No Stars if there were such a rating. I had gone to Silver Eagle to have them mount a scope for my rifle. I did not use it immediately when I got it back, but trusted they had done a proper job. However, when I went to sight it in, it was not mounted properly and it was bent. I got in touch with them and told them of the issue, and I even included pictures. I only asked for the service fee back, not even a replacement scope, because perhaps it was damaged (bent) when they got it as I had not used it in years, but it was obviously mounted improperly. At the same time, a qualified person should have noticed it was bent in the first place and recommended suggestions. Nope, it was like they gave it to some person they hired off the street and said, "hey, go screw this thing on." It even took nearly 2 months for them to even get back to me. I'll NEVER use them again to service a firearm and I would suggest you don't either. read more

My wife and I took the Intro to Handguns class at Silver Eagle Group on a recent Sunday morning. Dario was the primary instructor. Shep was the assistant instructor. Both instructors were very knowledgeable and extremely patient with their students during both the classroom instruction and the time on the firing range. I *highly* recommend this course and both instructors. There were a total of eight students in the class. Some, like us, had no experience. Others brought their own firearms and had some experience. It was a good mixture of people with different reasons for taking the class. Neither my wife nor I had any previous experience with firearms. Here's what stood out to me about our experience. First, both instructors were deliberate and serious in their tone and mannerisms throughout the class. All their movements and instructions were consistent with the gun safety rules they presented on the first slide of their presentation. The rules weren't there just for show or as a CYA. Second, the entire experience -- from signing up for the class via their website to the check-in process to renting the equipment to the time on the firing range -- was very smooth. SEG has trained their staff well. Everyone at SEG was professional, courteous, and enthusiastic about providing a great customer experience. Again, I strongly recommend the Intro to Handguns course at Silver Eagle Group if you're looking for a place to learn how to handle a handgun safely. read more

This is the worst shooting range I've been to and I'm a 50 yo retired vet that's been to ranges all over the states. My main issue is that they have terrible customer service. Getting the original account setup was grueling due to the incompetence of the worker using the system. They were not trained on the system. The other main issue is that my information in their system was not consistent. In my case I have a 14 yo son who I have brought multiple times with no issue but on my last trip he was not in the system. Then when trying to find my "guest" account they couldn't find my info. This indicates multiple issues with the poor layout of their system as well as possible issues with data security and retention. Their response to this oversight was that I needed to give that info again and it had to be created again... not that they were sorry for the inconvenience or that they would look into why their system didn't have the information. This is very poor customer service and also poor business practice. The facility is nice, but I would highly recommend going to XCAL as an alternative for better service and equal quality range. I closed my membership with SEG and was also told they will change me another month because they need 30 days notice... again, terrible customer service. read more

SEG moved their facility to the other side of Beaumeade Circle. Their new facility is ginormous! Upon entering, first time guests are directed to register/sign a waiver. Once you've checked-in, head to the rental counter where you rent and swap out handguns, purchase targets/ammo, purchase apparel, etc. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are near the hand washing counter. The entire staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable every visit. They always make sure your eyes and ears are protected before entering the range, give a brief safety guide for first time guests, and answer any questions. I contacted ranges on short notice, hoping to get private instruction before an extremely challenging course for work that was far more advanced than my skills. While other places told me they were booked out for weeks, Bruce and Steve at SEG made sure I got as much range time and one on one training as I could a week before the course. I am now the first in my specialty to pass the advanced federal law enforcement pistol course, and I couldn't have done it without Steve and the team at Silver Eagle Group. I've checked out a couple of ranges in the area and settled on SEG membership. As someone unfamiliar with using an indoor range, I was nervous, but the staff and owner at SEG are awesome. Walking in new is extremely intimidating and not once have I felt uncomfortable by unfriendly staff like a couple of other ranges I've contacted or visited. First impressions matter and in the other places I've been, the staff never smiled. At SEG, I was met by friendly, helpful people and a tail wag from the sweet pup! I want to spend my money and time at a place where employees aren't just working but it's obvious they enjoy being there. I'd say I've interacted with no less than ten employees and they're all awesome. Oh and one more thing. Safety. Going to *any* range with inexperienced shooters to your left and right can be unsettling. Range instructors are the nicest people you'll ever meet, they have so much patience it's incredible. Every time I bring friends here, everyone has a great time. Amazing place for first timers and experienced shooters. Prices are fair, ammo selection can be scarce depending on the caliber you're looking for. Facilities are clean, safe, and you have got a store on site with all kinds of stuff for sale ranging from under-armor boots to gun safes. This place is about 45-60 mins away for me but I don't mind the drive. We always have a great time here and I wouldn't go anywhere else unless I need an outdoor range. read more
