I've been with Silver Fern for almost 3 years now. (Previously they were called Complete Yard Care). I have found them to be reliable (yes, they show every time), thorough and honest. Their basic maintenance is great and they do offer complete tree services, planting and other landscaping. We have used them to take care of several huge palm trees and found their work to be great. They have touched up our rock ground cover and re-seeded our lawn for winter grass each year. They always ask if there is anything special, but even without that, I often see them taking extra initiative to adjust a sprinkler or look into little things before they get to be big. While I agree, they show up like clock work, they will break the bank with add on's. Everything is extra and much more expensive. They are the highest priced to begin with and they will not deviate from their service policy to do anything above and beyond without a quote and extra charge. The quality of Silver Firn's service doesn't exceed that of other companies that will take care of occasional little things without asking for another $150. I had a 5 foot branch of a pigmy palm that died. They expected $150 to cut off the branch and put it in the trailer. I don't have a large yard, but they asked $1,500 to put down the winter lawn, not worth more than $350-$500. $5,500 quote to replace the backyard drip system. A professional Irrigation company did a great job for $3,700. Two major branches from a tree broke off during a storm. I cut it all up into small pieces. They wanted extra to put it in their trailer and haul it away. I gave it a year, but tired of the constant up charges and arguments over simple matters. Unless you have an unlimited bank account and don't care how much you pay, beware of Silver Fern Landscape. read more

We had the same landscaping service for 4+ years. Not that they were particularly great at their jobs but primarily because they showed up! They had broken small lights and other lawn decor before but we just chalked it up to understandable mistakes and asked them to please be more careful. Never had a problem right up until 2 large firepits were broken and the evidence was "hidden". When we tried to contact the company an hour later to try to come to some sort of compromise, we were ghosted. We weren't even asking for money for our firepits because they were expensive and this was a small company but we weren't shown any professional courtesy at all. They never returned our calls or came back. Well, I said all that to say if it had not been for that bad experience we would have never found what a true landscaping company should be! Earlier this year I had what I thought was a water leak from a landscape pipe - they came out and took a look and didn't charge me. Turned out to be a water main issue, so my landlord took care of it. Recently when they did their periodic evaluation of time spent on my yard, my monthly fee actually went down!
