** Our Experience with Weston Warriors Football - Please Read Before You Sign Up **…read more Last year, our child was part of the 6U Weston Warriors team -- and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment from start to finish. **Disorganized Season:** Games were either not scheduled properly or didn't count for anything. The few games that were played were against advanced, high-level programs -- leading to painful, demoralizing losses for our young kids. Many of them ended up in tears and didn't even want to continue playing. **Lack of Support:** Our team was constantly short on players. We asked the president, John, for support -- including something as simple as an extra water break for kids playing both offense and defense all 4 quarters. That support never came. As a result, several kids quit mid-game, leaving the rest even more overwhelmed. **Poor Retention:** This year, only a *handful* of players returned for 7U. We gave it another chance -- only to find out there weren't even enough players, and our 7-year-olds were bumped to 8U. **Now Another Shift:** Suddenly, they want to *combine* 6U and 7U into a "7U team" -- with only TWO games confirmed for the entire season. When we asked for a partial refund (since the season hasn't even started), John and Sophie (a board member) told us it wasn't possible because the money had already been used. They claimed we didn't have a "legitimate case." We have now been waiting THREE weeks for the board to review the case, but they can't because a board member has supposedly been "out of the country." **Our Takeaway:** From the start, this program has been disorganized and disappointing. Lots of broken promises, very little transparency, and poor leadership. We're sharing this not out of spite -- but to help other families make an informed decision. **Parents -- think twice before signing up for Weston Warriors Football. Look at your other options. It has a small fitness room but they have all the machines you would need. The best part is the dry sauna in the locker rooms. Aside from the fitness center they have: a skating rink, basketball court, spa, event rooms you can rent, a pool table, bowling alley, tennis, cycling, two pools and a jacuzzi. They host a lot of events- especially during the holidays. This month they are hosting a foreign film special which I'm really interested in considering foreign films is my favorite genre. As a member you are allowed up to about 15 guest passes where your guest can use all the utilities for free. If you exceed the amount of guest passes then you can simply buy more for about $10 each.

I started my 7 year old playing softball here and now she has been with the park 4 years. I am thrilled with the organization. They are very nice and the sport is really fun. I highly recommend it for anyone with girls. They play about 2-3 games a week. The girls also can play travel softball and really learn strong skills for high school teams or even college!

Some evenings they have AA meetings and the parking lot gets full. I try to go here in the morning. Often I see goats along B the fence line from the neighboring property. The best is when there are horses in the park and I can tell that my dogs are thinking, what is that? It's a simple park but a nice place to walk and it's quiet. There are restrooms but not much other amenities.
