Stop what you're doing and go make an appointment with Dr. Erica at Silver Linings Acupuncture. I promise that you'll be grateful that you did! I initially sought out acupuncture due to some longstanding knots in my upper back that had not responded to massage, chiro, heat/cold, stretching, etc. and found Silver Linings because they took my insurance. Side note: They take most insurances, including OHP, and are very accommodating in terms of working with insurance companies. After a few sessions with Dr. Erica, my stubborn knots have since subsided. What I assumed would be a couple of sessions to address back pain has turned into a weekly standing appointment that I look forward to all week. I had been seeing the same acupuncturist for 6 years and when they moved I found myself looking for the right fit for a couple of years before meeting Erica. I was immediately impressed with her approach and effectiveness and began seeing her on a weekly basis. Erica is a breath of fresh air for self care, especially if you are new to acupuncture or contemplating starting. I found Erica through word of mouth and am SO grateful for our time together! She is an expert listener and an intuitive healer of the best kind. We would check in at the beginning of each session to see where my pain was most prevalent and she would treat based on her observations and my input. I suffer from chronic back pain and teeth grinding. Although I wear a mouth guard it is not uncommon for me to wake up feeling as if my jaw has been in a vice grip. Erica was able to reduce my jaw pain significantly over several sessions. I'm not sure how the mechanics of acupuncture work so it is hard for me to explain but essentially, my pain is greatly reduced directly after our session and for weeks to come. I'm not sure how that works but it does and I'm psyched about waking up in less pain and feeling more rested. The most common question that I get when I recommend acupuncture to others is, 'does it hurt'???? The short answer is no, acupuncture needles are significantly smaller than the needles we are used to using in a hospital setting. Erica takes her time and is patient and will guide you through the process in real time, if something doesn't feel right she will correct it immediately. She will also come to check on you mid session after all needles have been placed. That helped to reduce my anxiety when I was new to treatment. Erica also suggested a pregnancy pillow to alleviate my low back pain as I am a side sleeper. I am not obsessed with my body pillow and recommend getting one to others. I also suffer from allergies and Erica suggested using a mixture of essential oils to help reduce my sneezing and stuffy nose. Again, the oils worked like a charm, I just put a small drop on either side of the outside of each nostril and within minutes I can breath more clearly. I've also started putting a few drops on the inside of my mask and it has helped me feel less stuffy while I'm masked up. I should add that I wear an N95 throughout the day because I work in healthcare and prior to using the oils I would feel like I was in a humidifier. After an hour on Erica's table I feel like I have had the best nap possible and am in a dream like state, much like you would feel after a great massage or a glass of wine. Acupuncture is euphoric and Erica offers so much more than her treatments, she is truly a friend and I look forward to seeing her every week. read more

Erica is absolute magic. I carry a great deal of stress tension in my body, as well as other ails from years of manual labor.
