I have been a patient of Dr. Stuart's for nearly nine years…read more At first, my work hours and assignment locations (north central Portland) allowed me greater convenience to select flexible appointments. Later, when my hours and work location (I'm in Beaverton now) moved me further away and sometimes limited my choice of appointment times, I ignored the advice of many of my friends telling me to locate a closer Chiropractor and stayed with Dr. Stuart; her being the ONLY reason or need for me to come into Portland (from west Beaverton to east Portland). I tell you this because she is the genuine article. She's worth my trip. One thing she won't do is toot her own horn. She plays it off, but she cares a great deal about her clients care and well being. Dr. Stuart is meticulous and compassionate in getting to the root of your discomfort and finding the cause. She also respects her patient's privacy. She is prompt with her appointments; your time with her IS your time; she doesn't double or triple book like some offices. She works the neck, head, spine and hips and has even done some TMJ work on me; doing wonders for my pain management! She has a modified schedule (closed Thursdays but open Saturdays) to help accommodate those with weird schedules. Her office also utilizes several Licensed Massage Therapists if the need (and your insurance covers) arises. Sorry, it's not just the Doc; they also work miracles by the hour as well. (I'm coping with the idea that my favorite therapist is leaving someday soon to become one of our nation's BEST nurses...so proud!) She bills some insurance (you'll need to call, I don't know who). I've seen worker's comp cases come in, but since it wasn't any of my business, I didn't pay any attention; I can't tell you about what is and isn't accepted. Give Dr. Stuart a call. Stop in and give her a chance. It says "Appointment Only" below, which is mostly true. Sometimes they have cancellations and they may be able to fit you in...keep in mind Then find out if your insurance covers the massage with it. If not, see if you can handle that part of the cost. The SMARTEST THING in pain management I've ever seen was to have a Massage Therapist in a Chiropractor's office. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. Give Amanda, Lissa (short for Melissa) or Sylvia a chance to work out the rest of the kinks before or after your adjustment. YOU'LL GET HOOKED! (this is my opinion. I listened to the audio and practiced some of the techniques daily until the birth and absolutely the class and practice helped me be in a confident, calm zone for the majority of my hospital birth. I had a few minor complications that were intense for me but still having that method to utilize was an amazing help even then. I can not recommend the class more highly! I also saw Lori for prenatal massage a number of times and that was also informative, relaxing, supportive to the birth experience. So grateful for her work!

She gives the right amount of pressure, is professional and not too chatty (I like to meditate when I get a massage) and her prenatal massages are wonderful. Plus she accepts insurance at Bloom! Initially, I was going to her to reduce what I thought were tension headaches in the first trimester. I noticed the first two times when I put my head face down on the table the headache would increase. She figured out it was sinus related and recommended sinus flushing. Once I started flushing the sinuses with saline solution, relief took over. In addition, I completed Lori's "Hypnobirthing" class this past November. Our second child is due mid January. I cannot express how grateful I am that she offers this course. There are things I learned that I wish I knew four years ago when I had my first water birth. I feel well-prepared, calm, yet excited, to meet our new "hypno-water birth" baby! UPDATe: Her hypnobirthing class is exceptional. I gave birth to a healthy baby girl who weighed in just under 9 pounds. I was able to labor at home and then drive with my husband to the Alma Waterbirth Center. Birthed my baby in water within 45 minutes of arrival. Little to no pain except during crowning.

A very rare, not well-understood chronic nerve pain issue that was threatening to keep me debilitated for the rest of my life. The MDs I had were at a loss for how to help. I am a dancer, and extremely active in my hobbies so to say the prospect of not being able to move freely or use my foot again was terrifying and traumatizing, is a gross understatement. In my first acupuncture session with her, I went from not being able to touch ANYTHING to my foot, to being able to place it on the floor of my car (which was previously unendurable due to the vibrations, pressure, and swelling from not being elevated) and drive myself over an hour to one of my favorite places. It was like a miracle. Every time I had a session with her, my baseline would improve immediately, and those changes would hold. When people ask me what treatments made the most difference, the two answers I give are acupuncture from "this truly extraordinary practitioner named Krishna", and an anti-inflammatory diet. I deeply believe I would not have recovered without her, and to be frank, that thought terrifies me on behalf of all the people who do not have the chance to receive help from her or someone like her. That was just the effect of the acupuncture. She also did several Psych-K sessions with me over the years. The Psych-K is one of the coolest treatments I have ever had (and I've had a lot). It is amazing, and so relieving to have an experience that cuts so deeply be transformed so that those emotions are processed. I would leave feeling like an elephantine weight was lifted from my shoulders. Around that time, I was having a lot of issues with my mom. Lots of love, but something in our relationship was off and causing some very big problems. We did the relationship balancing Psych-K together (although you don't need both parties for it to work), and it made a world of difference. Of course, our relationship work is still ongoing, but that session was a huge turning point. I live in a different state now, but every time I have an issue it is Krishna that I wish I could see.
