We gave it time to heal but he was not getting better. We took him to the vet and they wanted to do X-rays on one shoulder and it would cost $878. They also said that his pain is common in Golden's and because he's large it's early on set hip dysplasia . He's only 4! But we knew nothing was broken because the limp would come and go. We knew the X-rays wouldn't tell us anything. But we could also tell that he was depressed. He was not his happy go-lucky self. He no longer jumped up to see us and got up and down very slowly. He even cried at the bottom of stairs to avoid using them. Finally fed up with our vet not taking his pain seriously, we called Dr. Erin. Before she even saw him she was asking me questions over the phone and getting an understanding of his history and what had happened. Questions our vet never asked. If I didn't see it with my own eyes, I would not have believed it! In ONE SESSION our dog was back! He was our happy, tail wagging, cuddle buddy again! Even people that didn't know we had an appointment with Dr. Erin noticed an immediate difference! I recommend her 1000%! 10 stars if I could!

Dr. Erin was very gentle and patient with Coco, making her comfortable before ever trying any adjustments. After her first adjustment, she quite limping and holding up the leg. As well, by the next day she was wrestling with the cat again. I am a big believer of chiropractic for humans, so why not my dog. I hate going to meds as a first option, as they usually just mask instead of cure. Coco is now a regular of Dr Erin's...monthly adjustments to keep this old dog moving without pain and stiffness. I brought my dog, Lupo, there during a medical emergency while we were traveling from North Carolina, and what followed was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. We were already in a state of panic, far from home, trying to make the best decisions we could. Despite that, there was a profound lack of communication, compassion, and transparency throughout his care. We were never offered the option to stay in any rooms, just to rest for a little. Being 45 minutes away while our dog was critically ill created unnecessary distance during the most important moments of his life. The most devastating part is that we were only contacted when things had already taken a severe turn, and that call was not a supportive update, but a frantic, high-pressure conversation where I felt like I was being almost yelled at that he needed to be euthanized immediately. There was no sense of guidance, no compassion just urgency without support. We were not called earlier as he declined, and we were not given a real opportunity to come and be with him in time. Because of this, I lost the chance to have any meaningful final moments with my dog. By the time we were involved, he had been intubated. That was not what I wanted unless it was absolutely necessary as a life-saving measure, and it ultimately robbed me of being able to hold him, comfort him, or say goodbye in a way that had any meaning. That is something I will carry with me forever. When we last saw him, he was placed all the way at the bottom of a cage. It felt impersonal and distressing given how critical his condition was. There was no sense that comfort or dignity in his final moments was being prioritized. To make matters worse, a necropsy (autopsy) was performed without our explicit consent. This was incredibly upsetting and felt like a violation during an already devastating time. The lack of clear communication and consent around something so significant is completely unacceptable. After his passing, the handling of his remains and the lack of communication continued to cause harm. Because of delays and inability to reach anyone, his body was not released to the memorial service we had chosen in time for us to receive his ashes before our flight home. We were forced to extend our stay, rebook flights, and incur additional expenses... all while grieving the loss of our baby. I understand this is a teaching hospital and that not every case has a positive outcome. But communication, compassion, and respect for both the patient and their family should never be optional. At no point did I feel supported, informed, or prioritized as his owner. Lupo was my world. He deserved better. And no family should have to go through what we experienced here. There was no compassion in here. There was only a severe urgency to give us a large bill.

I was told that CSU operates under a "seven‑day open billing consent," meaning my bill could actually increase even after I had already paid and left the facility. This was never explained to me beforehand, and being informed of it only after raising concerns felt both unprofessional and intentionally misleading. The idea that additional charges could be added for up to seven days after my visit caused significant stress and made me feel taken advantage of during an already urgent and emotional situation. I will be submitting a formal complaint with DORA regarding lack of transparency, inconsistent medical information, questionable billing practices, and delayed release of medical records and x‑rays. I will be requesting that this complaint be reviewed by Client Services, the Hospital Administrator, and the Service Chief overseeing my kitten's care.
