If you want to be stolen from and harassed in the middle of your wedding this is the place to be! Extremely disrespectful how the bar manager handled some things. In the middle of our wedding, he told my coordinator that if we did not move our Photo Booth that he was going to have to get his Volkswagen van out of the venue which to do so that would involve us having to move tables, chairs, decorations and my guests out of his way. He was being very rude about it because we set up our Photo Booth in front of his van and then he said we owed him $100 to use his van as a prop, because we told him there no way we could move his van without disturbing my entire wedding. We were never once told this and if this was an issue, he should've moved the van out of the venue prior to our wedding being set up and STARTED! It was very rude. And then well in the middle of my wedding, my guess were being told they needed to move their cars. My aunt and uncle are very disabled and they were told they had to go park down the road at big five because they were parked in someone's parking spot, but it clearly was a disabled parking. Right before me and my husbands first dance I was told that I needed to move my vehicle, apparently it was parked in "the owners spot" I have been parked there since the night before and hadn't been told anything. There was NO SIGN that said owners parking.. and to wait till literally the MIDDLE OF MY WEDDING to ask me to move it is crazy. All of this could have been told to me prior to the wedding, it didn't even start till 3pm in the afternoon. At any point prior, I could've been told to move my vehicle, but I am a guest at the hotel so I don't know what the problem is. And Tob could've moved his van anytime he wished, but he waited. The next morning @8am my husband and family woke up to clean venue and pack up decor. We then realized $400 of my decor was stolen. This has left me distraught. I have repeatedly ask to see there cameras, and no one will respond to me. I let them know that if my property could not be recovered will have to file a police report with Santa Fe police for my property being stolen. In response they were extremely passive aggressive and said I was "bold" for accusing them of taking my property and that they would be "thrilled" to help me find it if it was in there property. I'm attached photos of my stuff stolen. When we arrived then morning all the pampas grass was taken from my arches and vases with pampas in it. I sent hours putting this together and about $400 on this decor and for this to be take on a day that is supposed to be so special is just disgusting and unprofessional. Not to mention they catered the food it was gross and the beds are hard as a rock. I'm also not saying the venue itself stole my decor but the staff themselves.. just seeing how Todd the bar manager behaved shows me the establishment does not mind disrespecting people. This hotel has been completely "redone" into a "modern hotel" and I don't mean that in a good way. What was once a iconic classic Santa Fe New Mexican cowboy motel, is now a butchered shell of what it once was replaced with Ikea furniture. The charm is all gone along with my support. We were attracted to the Silver Saddle as it had good reviews and was $ motel. With tax the cos was $153 for the night. The motel is very cute. The room was clean and uncluttered. The decor was black and white and felt contemporary. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard. The room did not get dark due to the outside lights. 10 point hotel rating I decided to establish a scale for rating hotels and motels. I apply the same scale for "luxury" hotels as well as "budget" motels as I stay in all types depending on where I am traveling and the purpose. After cleanliness there is no particular order. 1. Cleanliness VERY 2. Comfort of bed. GOOD 3. Comfort of pillows. Are there both firm and soft available. TOO HARD 4. How new is the room decor and fixtures. GREAT! 5. Quality of room. This includes size, temperature, smell, lighting. GOOD 6. Quality of bathroom. This includes size, lighting, ventilation. GOOD 7. Bathroom amenities. When I stayed there .. There were children playing loudly outside our doors very early in the morning . They were relatives of the person running the place. When I called to ask if she could please quiet the children so I could rest.. the rude grandmother started telling me off ... saying they are children and they are going to be loud too bad for you and she hung up on me . Now The Mystic which is going through renovations. Walking into the room, loved it. Very clean and on the modern side. Small bathroom but nice. To jump to the air conditioner, very complicating to set what you want. The TV? Bad. No cable so it would freeze and state channel not available while watching a show of some kind. Now the office hours. 9 am to 8 pm. Not real convenient for checking out or if there is an emergency. All-in-all, we will not be returning sadly as we did like the room. read more

Booked a night at this hotel thru Hotels.com. Was driving from Las Vegas NV and called ahead to confirm my booking and asked for a late arrival check in knowing I would arrive around 930 pm. The person I spoke to said this would not be a problem. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door providing instructions on calling or texting to let the owner (who apparently lives on sight, per the motel's website) know I had arrived. It was 930pm. I stayed here again for a few days. On the first day the shower in the same room (25) took about ten minutes to get hot again but also the toilette wasn't flushing correctly. Nothing like being concerned about using the toilette. I notified them of the issue before going out for the day and returned early from my parents house to make sure it was fixed because the office closes at eight. Sure enough it still wasn't working correctly so they put me in room 19. I went to check the room and the toilette was fine but the bulb was burnt out in the fixture over the bed. I turned the bulb a bit to make sure it was seated properly and the entire overhead fixture came down on top of me. Right about then the clerk came running to tell me they had to put me in another room because they were having issues with the fixture over the bed. You think? It is a cute hotel but it seems like they are having issues with all of the rooms so I'll just have to find another place for further stays I guess. read more

Silver Saddle is officially a thing of the past. Dawn sold the Saddle and it is no longer the same comfortable, funky, charming place. Some of the original wonderful staff have made the transition, but the rooms are remodeled and not representative of Santa Fe's or the West's history. For us regulars it is indeed a sad, sad day. Oh! My! Gosh! How cute is this vintage Route 66 Motel?! Seriously.. driving by, you may question it, but I never did! The outside is painted nice, great parking lot, cute little motel office and gift shop. We were able to stay here for under $80 a night during the summer! What?! I will take this over a fancy hotel any day! You aren't a far drive from Santa Fe's historic downtown area either. Each room is decorated differently and uniquely! Even down to the quilts and bedding. I love that each room is different! Definitely a unique style. They king bed rooms offer a fridge and microwave. The rooms are clean, inviting, and cozy. They have a continental breakfast, which they then open a back room and a patio to sit at and enjoy your breakfast. Plenty of things to choose from, from fresh fruit, bagels, toast, boiled eggs, cereal, juice and coffee. The front desk staff was so welcoming and friendly and gave great suggestions for near by restaurants and attractions. If you're along the back, open your bathroom window for a surprise set up of vintage vehicles! And go shopping in the camper during breakfast on the back patio!! read more

Just Ok. There are airbnb's for about the same price and they are closer to the plaza. There were a lot of homeless people in the area and we were woken up by sirens both mornings. The front desk agent told us Meow Wolf was across the street, which is why we booked, but it was across the street and down several blocks. The showers are tiny and the bathrooms, mostly the floor, just didn't feel the cleanest. There is no longer a continental breakfast, likely due to covid. the decor is cute and kitschy and there are nice flowers everywhere. There is security on site but overall the location just wasn't the best. Ok for a night but we wanted to leave after that. read more

used to love this place when it was the Silver Saddle. Now that is has become The Mystic it's the cheapest excuse for a "boutique" motel. EXTREMELY Cramped rooms, broken toilet, stains on the comforter. insanely Overpriced for what it is. The pictures on the website are misleading about the quality and size of the room. The Motel 6 down the street has nicer, bigger and cleaner rooms for half the price. there was construction and employees pressure washing outside early in the morning, was noisy, staff was unprofessional, the manager was very rude and threatening towards us and used fowl language when confronted about the issues. Will never stay here again, would certainly not recommend it either read more

We had the best experience here, we wanted to stay longer! Amy at the front desk made it very easy for us to check in when we called to notify our late arrival. The room was clean and we loved the cowboy theme!! The details inside the room are top tier. Our favorite part of our stay was the queen size bed. It was so comfy and warm, we had a hard time getting out of bed the next morning. Continental breakfast was great and had all of our basic needs: fresh coffee and OJ, milk, cereal, assorted breads/bagels, fruit, and more. The kind young lady with an accent at the front desk was so attentive and informative, we appreciated her so much! I stayed at the Silver Saddle for 20 years from 1999 through 2019. I went online and saw that it has now changed to The Mystic. I was mortified at how the motel has been destroyed from the charming property that Dawn had created. And from the reviews others aren't happy with the changes. I will not be staying there in the future instead I will opt for a property that has the true authenticity of Santa Fe. I feel that them advertising their 75th anniversary is false advertising as The Mystic has not been there for 75 years. Another piece of history has bitten the dust. read more

She set us up with a small coffee maker and while the Willie Nelson room is small it is well designed and laid out and the shower is HUGE with plenty of hot water. Place is clean, kitschy and inviting. It is now our go to place for Santa Fe. Plenty of great dining options close by and while on Cerillos Road the road noise wasn't bad. I'm so glad I read several good reviews of this place & decided to give it a chance. I love this old vintage motel, owner operated by Dawn. Very welcoming & laid back, chill, just the kind of atmosphere & people that I think represent the best side of New Mexico. The office closes at 10pm so that the owner can get some sleep & bed ready to serve you a nice continental breakfast the next morning! It was even better than I was expecting for such a small place. Graceful, glass pitchers of orange juice & milk, 2 choices of bagels, 3 choices of bread for toasting, cream cheese, 8 choices of jams & preserves, boiled eggs. There was probably cereal, but I didn't focus on that so can't enumerate them. I was able to stay 3 nights here for a total of $207, that's just slightly more than 1 night at the El Rey just up the street. Of course the El Rey offers indoor & outdoor hot tubs, but I probably wasn't going to use those on this trip, so no need to pay for that amenity. I have a hard time believing that anyone would give this neat little place a bad review! Perhaps they're city folk used to all new, modern stuff? Yes, it's old & not super spacious- but it was clean, no odd smells, nor cigarette odor. It is located on one of the main drags through town, but I wasn't bothered by any traffic noise. I travel with a small fan that I run on high to drown out the occasional noise when I'm ready for sleep. I highly recommend you stay here if you're not wanting to shell out big bucks for a nice comfortable place to sleep & a super friendly vibe. I will be back for sure. read more

The Silver Saddle is decent motel in a great location, with easy access to downtown and other locations (Meow Wolf is just a few blocks away). The rooms are super small but very clean with a decently comfortable bed. My only critique is that the bath towels were small and like sandpaper on the skin. If your looking for a room to hangout in you might want to look elsewhere, but if your just looking for a place to sleep at night this is the place! And at $59 a night it's a no brainer. read more

This motel was so cute and really affordable. We stayed in the Annie Oakley room which was had southwestern decorations, pictures of Annie + friends, cute cowboy bedspread, and a nice little table where we ate our complimentary breakfast. Bagels, cereal, & tea. Bed was very comfortable which is a must! The bathroom was really pretty with the tiles. Free wifi too. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The cost was between $50-60. It's nothing fancy but it was relaxed and you could walk to that crazy Jackalope trading post gift shop + some nice restaurants. Vietnamese place we walked to down the street was really good. What can I say? I FREAKING LOVED THIS PLACE!! Okay, now that my excitement is noted, this small motel in Santa Fe exceeded my expectations. We originally booked a chain hotel and after reading the reviews, I decided to give Silver Saddle a try. After all, it was $50 dollars less than the chain hotel. I can definitely say that I do not regret my decision at all. We arrived and Wendy greeted us. She was very helpful and very Personable. We got an actual key to our room, which I loved. We don't need no stinkin' key card! (Hopefully, you will get the reference). Our room was the Lone Ranger room. The room was advertised as a queen but I think it might have been a full. Doesn't matter, I was closer to my husband. The room was decorated in a western motif and there were Lone Ranger references throughout. The bathroom was quaint. The room was equipped with a flat screen TV, Mini fridge and microwave. As far as an iron and ironing board, you might have to get that from the office or request it before your stay. WiFi is free and worked well while we were there. They also provide continental breakfast consisting of some fruit, pastries, cereal, oatmeal packets and there were boiled eggs. They also had coffee and tea. If I ever stay in Santa Fe again on our staycation (Albuquerque native), I would stay here again without hesitation. read more

Rooms were clean. .. ten times nicer than the cheap chains I stayed at on the way up here and about 30 dollars cheaper. The only difference is the rooms are not super huge.. but it wasn't necessary.. plenty of room for me to lay my head and get clean! Great and fun decor with themed rooms. LOVED the bathrooms here.. spanish tile and a window! I love natural light. Basic breakfast of coffee, oj, milk, cereal, bagels, fruit, cream cheese etc... loved sitting around this room chatting with the other guests. Very friendly! The only not so great thing was the spotty wifi.. it would work off and on.. honestly I cannot really knock anyone for the wifi.. .. if I wanted to browse the internet all day I would stay at home. On the receipt it shows to be Silver Saddle, correct address which is now going by The Mystic Santa Fe. I chose the hotel due to the ratings. I was pleased with the room and toiletries provided. However no microwaves in rooms. The refrigerator door didn't close without propping something against it. Checkout is 11:00am. The only downside was the heater. Throughout the night it made loud rumbling noises that escalated to loud thuds. I brought this up with Miguel the next morning and he offered us his most sincere apology and generously refunded us half our room rate. He also let us check out a half hour later. It was not even close to our pet's hair, probably not even the same species. No footage of any pet and our pet is too large to have snuck him in anyways. Passed the housekeeper on our way out to the car. No pet with us. However, they charged us an extra 55 dollars stating they had "proof" of us having a pet in the room. Spoke with the owner and he states this is proof enough for the extra charges. Have disputed this CC charge and called Expedia to file a formal complaint. Scam. read more

The only reason I booked this place initially was because of the good reviews on yelp. Usually I only stay in Airbnb's or 4 star hotels and above because of past negative experiences with motels but we booked so last minute that those places were completely unaffordable for us. My husband looked up motels and found this place had good reviews. I was extremely uncomfortable with the idea but it would only be one night so I figured I would grin and bear it. You can imagine my surprise when I walked into the room and it was actually nicer than the Airbnb we stayed at in Albuquerque. It was clean and there were thoughtful details everywhere! The bathroom had the typical shampoo and bar soaps most hotels do, but also this little basket of rags that were meant for cleaning your boots! The bathroom was very clean and there was NO mold in the shower or the shower curtain! I really appreciated that. Some hotels I've stayed in had that problem! There were multiple single-use shampoo packets (supposed to double as conditioner but hardly did it's job as a shampoo) and a couple of bar soaps. The toilet was clean, the decor was quaint, and they offer breakfast! We got a room that was decorated with Willie Nelson memorabilia. The check in process was smooth and the front desk person was so friendly. Each room has a parking spot right in front so it's super convenient. The breakfast was nice. They had coffee, milk, orange juice, water, bananas, instant oatmeal packets, cuties, two types of cereal, toast, a pastry, and bagels and a lot of different condiments. It was a very good selection and I was very happy to have had breakfast there. I am actually regretting booking the Airbnb we did in Albuquerque now because I could be staying at a nicer well rated motel for cheaper than the cost of the Airbnb. Very cute kitschy affordable motel. The staff was extremely welcoming & friendly. Both women took the time to explain to us where we should go (restaurants, sightseeing). The front desk attendant at night upgraded us to two beds for the price of their one bed room. The beds were comfy. The complimentary breakfast in the morning consisted of coffee, tea, danishes, fruit, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, bagels & toast. Loved all the cowboy/western decorations. Even the folks staying at the motel were friendly! My only complaint was that the pilot light of our heater made an irritating noise that made it hard to sleep. read more

Once you get past the " is this an hourly motel?" feeling you see that this is just a cute, kitschy remodeled motel. The design was well done and I really liked the home- y feel. I wish there would have been headboards for the beds and the shower curtain had a mildewy smell. A fan in the bathroom might help. Also, the water pressure of the shower was pretty low. This is a comfortable boutique type motor lodge. I stayed here for 4 nights. It's well maintained and the room was small but accommodating. They have free WiFi, cable, & flat screen TV'S. If you pull the sham off of the pillows you will find 2 pillows in each for your sleeping pleasure. I get cold at night even in summer, but not a problem here. An extra blanket is already in the room. They still use the old style keys & motel tags. The a/c in my room was a bit noisy but there was an overhead fan to keep the air circulating.
