Wow what a fantastic place to stay! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights celebrating our one year anniversary and I'm very happy that we did. Customer service was on point: very friendly and personable. Especially the wait staff. I saw the head waitress chat it up with everyone every morning! The room was a bit dated but I didn't mind. We stayed in the King Suite which had a kiva fireplace, wet bar, and a skylight in the bathroom. It added to the character and charm of the property. There are so many Instagram worthy spots. I was obsessed with all the plants, flowers and trees surrounding the property. They are all very well maintained. And I adored the chile ristras adorn throughout too. Definitely made me know I am in The City Different!!!

    Great Breckfast! Changes daily.

Staff here is wonderful! Darla was a jealous on check in and as a shuttle driver. Yes a bit dated but rooms clean and well stocked with extra blankets. Queen Beds felt great. Very close to Plaza area. FREE shuttle for a one mile range allows you to walk to shopping and get a ride back when you're worn out. Plus the mexican restaurant here on site is four plus star. TEQUILA is their specialty, at least 50 kinds. Sorry we did not try any. Looking forward to a great breckfast in the morning. Free wifi. FREE parking which is a plus for downtown hotels, most charge. Noon checkout so you have two more hours to shop in AM. Would definitely stay again.

What a beautiful stay! The tequila bar is killer, it's steps from canyon road and the plaza, you can't go wrong. There was a fireplace in our room and a huge balcony/ hangout area that is connected to another room and open to the whole floor. We pretty much had it to ourselves the whole time! The only issue I could see people having with it is that you hear the church bells, but I personally loved that aspect of it. Definitely a fantastic place.

Joe's tequila bar patio. Very casual and relaxing place for a drink and snack.

Small, but nice room. All staff we encountered were extremely helpful and very nice. The patio at Joe's tequila bar was a very pleasant place for a drink and snack. Cozy, relaxing. Complimentary breakfast was exceptional. Serve yourself to eggs, green chili, potatoes, Juices and coffee, beans and great pastries. Servers were extremely nice and kept coffee filled up. If you can walk, great location near shops, galleries. Transportation available with staff member. Really got the Santa Fe vibe here, in a good way!

This hotel is a prime location close to downtown and the plaza. We were able to walk there and to Loretta chapel easily. The check in process was easy. I pre checked in prior to my room being ready and once it was, I received a call to come retrieve the room keys. Parking is for hotel guests only, with a parking pass displayed on your dash. Breakfast is included in the stay until 10am. There is a hot tub available as well next to our room available until 11pm. Our room had a nice little patio attached. My only complaint is that the breakfast staff was rude. The breakfast is a sit down type of style. There was no one asking me if I needed anything but I seen the other wait staff assisting the other guests and going around asking if they were doing okay. Everything was self serve so I didn't really need any help. Most of the food needed refilling and didn't seem like it was really attended to. When I was getting more orange juice, the wait staff asked for my room number which was kind of rude to do so when she didn't even ask if I needed any help/needed anything. Once I told her my room number and that I was finished, I asked where to put my plate she said I can leave it there and she didn't know where I was sitting. That was a lie when she would walk past me assisting the other tables. Besides the horrible breakfast service, this was a nice stay.

We stay at the Inn on the Alameda during the annual Wine and Chili Fiesta. It is a wonderful place to stay. The Inn is an iconic small hotel on the "outer loop" of Santa Fe. Off the beaten path, yet almost everything in town is within walking distance. The Inn offers a complimentary shuttle for guests to and from all places in Santa Fe. The rooms are cozy, Southwestern style ... we usually get a room with a fireplace, which adds a little more ambiance. All the buildings are separated by cozy pathways, which are all lined with flowers and bunches of red chilis. They serve a complimentary breakfast each morning, and it's not just donuts, pastries, and cold cereal. There are always hot eggs, bacon or sausage, and other hot foods like biscuits and gravy, enchiladas (red and green chili of course!), or other New Mexican breakfast favorites. They also serve dinner in the evening, which you have to pay for, but it's very reasonable. The food is very good. Joe's Tequila Bar is well stocked, and most evenings a handful of guests are sharing company and stories. The Inn has a very nice patio, for breakfast, dinner, drinks, or just hang out and visit. The staff is wonderful, and you are always greeted with a smile 24/7/365! If you make your reservation directly on their website, you get the best rates. We always look forward to staying at the Inn.

This is my all time favorite hotel ever! It's conveniently located in Santa Fe and the historic district is with in walking distance. If you need a ride, they have a free shuttle service! The restaurant on site was fabulous with delicious Mexican fare. The complimentary breakfast is cooked fresh and changes daily. Joe's Tequila Bar is a fun experience. Interesting to learn about the variety of tequilas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and cleaned daily. Don't miss this jewel in downtown Santa Fe.

Charming hotel with a great location within walking distance of so many attractions. It was listed as Condé Nast #3 hotel pick for the Southwest in 2020. Comfortable beds and friendly hotel staff. The hotel breakfast was delicious! Fresh baked goods...The croissants and the cinnamon rolls were amazing! My husband really liked the coffee, too. Couple of things I wish I had known before check in though: -If light wakes you up bring a sleep mask. :( I was disappointed this hotel did not have blackout curtains. Light was filtering in our room at 5:50am. -No elevators! We were advised on the phone we would be on the second floor, but when we checked in they told us we were on the 3rd floor, and there are NO elevators. We are able bodied but it's a haul with suitcases up three floors of stairs. -Don't put your room key by your phone if it's a magnetized phone. Ours stopped working and we had to go back to the front desk to get a new key after dinner. Sam the security guard was great and came to make sure we made it back into our building.

I'm two months late on this review but I really wanted to make sure I got this one in :) What an adorable hotel! My mom and I just loved every bit of our time here. The hotel has a few buildings and is much bigger than it seems at first. The architecture is very Santa Fe of course and there were lots of thoughtful decorative choices scattered around the complex. Parking was really easy and we got a spot right near our room. It's really close to everything you want to see which is nice. We loved the complimentary shuttle and the drivers were both so friendly. Really all of the staff is competent and welcoming. The breakfast was great and very popular haha so it's sometimes hard to get an open seat on the weekend days. They have a little bar as well located in the lobby area so you can start you're night there! Definitely would and hopefully will stay here again.

When we drove in, the parking lot was just about full and the space that was available was too small for my truck. The security guard who I wish I could remember his name as he was such a gem, let me know that he will park my truck for me. He had a fabulous Texan accent and he was just the nicest man. He said go on inside and check in and when you come back out, I will park your truck for you. The woman who greeted me inside was so lovely. She said I am so glad you are here! You are our last guest to arrive and I will get you all checked in. It felt like we were in a different time almost, it was so cozy and quaint. Our hotel room itself was perfect. We had two beds and they were so comfortable and the linens were fabulous. The wall hangings and paintings were gorgeous. The bathroom was adorable and had pretty New Mexican tile. Even the carpets and rugs were beautiful. They do have a restaurant and room service. They have a complementary breakfast cooked to order which is something I have never seen before. Unfortunately we were so tired the next day we missed the breakfast, but we will definitely book another stay in this hotel. The reception area is beautiful and has lovely couches and sitting areas. The paperwork in the rooms is extremely thorough and will tell you everything you need to know, from room service to if you have difficulty parking your car to nearby restaurants and sightseeing. I did not read all of the paperwork when I first got to the hotel and in the morning I called for coffee to be delivered to my room. I later saw that coffee is actually set out for guests in the reception area so the woman who brought me the coffee really only did it out of kindness. I definitely felt like this hotel gives five star service.

And they didn't hv any 2 bed rooms available. So I found this place And in that week between Christmas and New Year's we still wanted to catch the Christmas lights and farolitos And if you too are about location, location, location This was perfect If you've ever had to drive to Santa Fe, you know that parking can be a bear -- and it was, with a lot of the main streets blocked off in anticipation of NYE celebrations. The hotel is actually quite a large, sprawling complex, much deeper that what might be assumed when pulling in. We got there mid-afternoon so could park rt in front of our first floor room. I hadn't even thought about that but my creaky knees were happy and quite relieved to only hv to haul my wee bag up 7 steps or so. Check in was easy, if a bit crowded, as a lot of regulars like to show up a bit early too. The doorman was a very polite young man and everyone made us feel welcome. The older gentleman at the counter was a font of information And made sure we knew abt the Happy Hour Short and sweet Whatever you do: try the biscochitos! (The official NM state cookie, fyi - for a reason - when done right, and these definitely are!) Everything was very clean Even with all the Christmas decorations and greenery out There's an excellent restaurant on site And when they say there's "a bit of a kick", and shd you be a wuss like me, order the spicy on the side. Staff was very considerate abt this. And breakfast is pretty good too! And it was so easy to walk to everything, stuff I usually don't get to see bc I'm usually on the other side of town. All in all, a lovely stay

The valets offered a warm welcome that set the tone for our entire stay and the front desk check in was friendly and efficient. In fact, every single staff member we came into contact with was an absolute delight. From the manager who we encountered each afternoon and always took the time to engage with us, to the awesome lady with the funky makeup who served the complimentary afternoon drinks. Everyone we came into contact with was lovely, even the lady bussing tables was a delight. Our room on the 2nd floor was ok, it was very long and narrow and despite having plenty of sq ft, the layout made it feel small. The bathroom was decent and the linens, towels and amenities were a good quality. Each day at 5.30pm the hotel offers complimentary drinks and snacks. We checked it out once; the cocktails, although served with a big smile, were cheap and sugary (as expected). The food (pasta and baked potatoes with fixings, hot dogs and popcorn), wasn't to our taste but many of the guests with children appeared to be making a full dinner out of them, so that is definitely a great feature for families on a budget. The location is really good, no more than a 7 min stroll from everything in the historic center of Santa Fe. I would recommend this hotel for family road trips and business travelers on a tight budget. The staff make this hotel a place you should consider if you're ever coming to Santa Fe.

I have been coming to Santa Fe for more than 35 years, always staying at our family home. When that home was sold two years ago, this became the first time my husband and I needed to find a hotel for one of our visits. Because Santa Fe feels like a second home to us--and because we were returning to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary--I did a tremendous amount of research before booking. We chose the Drury Plaza Hotel because we wanted to be within easy walking distance of the historic Plaza while still receiving genuine value. The included breakfast and evening Happy Hour were major deciding factors. Happy Hour includes drinks and enough substantial food that it can easily serve as dinner after a full day of sightseeing, adding meaningful value to the stay. The location could not have been better. Each morning, I walked to the Plaza before my husband woke up, and we could hear the bells from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. We also took several day trips to nearby areas, and the Drury was an ideal home base for everything we wanted to explore. We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. The rooftop pool and Jacuzzi were another highlight. We enjoyed beautiful Santa Fe sunsets from the rooftop and returned later to soak in the Jacuzzi and gaze at the stars. Those quiet moments became some of our favorite memories from the trip. A pro tip for future guests: on the second floor, at the end of the hallway, there is a lovely "secret garden" lawn area with tables and chairs. Relatively few guests seem to know about it, but you can take your Happy Hour food and drinks outside and enjoy a peaceful setting away from the activity of the main hotel spaces. It was an unexpectedly blissful little retreat. As the former CEO of a destination event-planning business, I also paid attention to the hotel's conference rooms and event facilities. Any company or organization hosting a corporate meeting, retreat, or special event would likely find this property especially appealing. The combination of location, guest amenities, gathering spaces, and walkability makes it a strong option for groups wanting both convenience and an authentic Santa Fe experience. The hotel itself is lovely, welcoming, and exceptionally well positioned, but here is what other reviews may not fully capture: the staff is everything. They are the true difference-makers. We were told that employees are hired, in part, because they genuinely enjoy people, and that quality is evident in every interaction. The front desk staff looked up, made eye contact, and greeted us whenever we passed rather than remaining focused solely on their computer screens. The valet team warmly welcomed us each time we returned. Angela was especially warm and welcoming during Happy Hour. Jo made us feel genuinely special, while Josephine stood out for her calm, gracious leadership and her ability to remember and acknowledge us whenever we returned to the hotel. Marco and Angel were also superstars at the rooftop bar. The hotel proactively asks whether guests are celebrating anything, and the team actually pays attention to the response. We did not request anything special, yet we received a complimentary suite upgrade for our anniversary, along with a bottle of wine and a card signed by members of the staff. Those thoughtful touches meant a great deal to us. We also experienced a power outage during our stay, and that unexpected moment revealed just how well prepared the team was. Staff members were positioned at critical points throughout the building, calmly guiding guests, opening doors, and providing assistance. Service culture and training often reveal themselves most clearly when something does not go according to plan, and this team rose beautifully to the occasion. The Drury Plaza Hotel gave us the location, amenities, value, and atmosphere we were seeking, but the people are what made our anniversary stay truly memorable. After more than three decades of visiting Santa Fe, we are grateful to have found a hotel that now feels like part of our connection to the city. We will absolutely return.

But where? Reviewers touted the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear.....and they were right. Pros: - Location: Central. Just south of the downtown area and a 15 minute walk to Canyon Road. - Exterior: A sprawling property in a residential neighborhood. Several smaller buildings seem to have been added over the (many) years to the main building seen on most photos of the property. - Interior: Like going back 100 years. Things were fixed, of course...especially in public spaces...but you might feel as if you're in a living museum. - Our Room (Witter Byner): Large and rambling. More than enough room for 2 people plus a balcony overlooking the front of the property. Very comfortable. I could live there for a month if we didn't mind going up and down 15 stairs to the main floor. One interesting aspect: The bathroom. It was very nice and fully equipped, but separate from our room and down 5 stairs. That wasn't a problem during the day, but a few nights were an adventure - Breakfast: Unreal. Everything was homemade with great taste. The buffet portion had sliced fruit, granola, juices, pastries and yogurt. The hosts and kitchen staff had 3-5 entrees available each day. I rarely tried those since I filled up on the buffet, but my wife ate one every day and only had good things to say. Service at the community table was gracious and unhurried with lots of interesting conversation. - Amenities: A 1-2 hour Happy Hour every day starting at 430 or 5 PM. Fresh cookies, fruit, tea and jug water were available all day (coffee from 630-10 AM). Umbrellas. Plenty of smiles. - Hosts: Everyone was very friendly, helpful, informative and even charming. Special thanks to Aileen (sp?). - Housekeeping: Effective, efficient and unobtrusive. - Parking: Sufficient. The large courtyard in front of the of the property provided enough room for cars in the 11 room B&B. - Price and Value: Reasonable. It's not cheap, but as in most cases you get what you pay for. We'd heartily recommend the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear, but make reservations well in advance.

Dust was caked into the corners, a dead bug was in the ripple of the vintage rug, and we were greeted by a dried booger on the bathroom door (seriously). The door frame lets light in, the floors creaked like a haunted house, and the entire layout felt like it was designed by someone who's never actually had to sleep there. There were no privacy blinds, only wooden shutters, and the artwork provided enough clutter to fill the room just in case you forgot your own luggage. Breakfast was the big show! During our most recent stay, our vehicle was one of at least three that were broken into with many very large/heavy items stolen overnight while parked in the hotel's paid parking lot. The lack of security measures, whether cameras, patrols, or staff presence, was disappointing and left us feeling unsupported after the incident. What was even more frustrating was management's response. When the answer to multiple vehicle break-ins is as we were told by the GM - there's nothing we can do and that cameras don't deter theft or help identify thieves - it's time for us to stay somewhere else. We understand that crime can happen anywhere, but guests paying for parking should reasonably expect the property to take security seriously and make an effort to protect them. What makes this especially difficult is that we've always loved this property. The hotel has a historic charm, a great location that makes it easy to explore Santa Fe on foot, and while the rooms aren't luxury accommodations, they always felt comfortable and familiar - like a home away from home. Through the years, the staff has consistently been friendly and welcoming. That's what makes this review so disappointing to write. What was once a 5-star experience for our family has dropped to about a 3-star experience because we no longer feel confident that our vehicle and belongings are safe while staying here.
