i'm sad. i was so happy, but the job they did was sub-par. first they were really nice about redoing it, but then the woman who does that went out of town. i thought i would have to wait for her return for a fix, but then another woman in the store did them for me, but not nearly as well. she got defensive and said i'd have to wait a month for the first woman to return. i asked why and she wouldn't answer. nothing makes me more frustrated than being a good repeat customer and getting stone walled when asking why something is being handled a certian way. finally her boss stepped in and explained that as i wasn't happy with the work the second woman had done, she wasn't comfortable redoing it, and i needed to wait. that was all she had to say. instead she just stood there, stony saying, you have to wait, and when i said, but why? she'd say, you have to wait. it was infuriating. so maybe go to the bougie place that charges more. silver sky will eventually get it done cheaper, but at what cost? read more

I have reviewed them before and then updated my review but I'm leaving a whole new one because my experience with them has been so bad. When I first went in, they were very nice and repaired one of my vintage strands of beads for me. It was great so I brought them two more. Unfortunately the next two strands they did much too tightly, so they didn't lay nicely when I wore them. I asked them to repair them which they did. In the meantime, one of the knots on the first strand unknotted, so I brought it back. At that point, the woman who had done the work was away for extended period and someone else did the work. It was not at the same standard. I asked if it could be repaired again and I was told that I would have to wait for over a month and when I asked why I was not given a clear answer; I was brushed off. The woman was really rude. But they had my beads and they were not repaired so I had to wait. I finally got a call to come and get them. I went in and while they are not as bad as they were, they are not at the level of skill with which they had originally been repaired. I said you can see the thread sticking out and the woman, not the woman who does the repairs, but the rude woman, got really aggressive with me, and the owner sat there and said don't speak to her and she kept on and she made gestures for me to just leave the store and I was like this is really bad. I am going to go write about this on Yelp because I've spent a lot of money here at this point and you've done subpar work and you're being really rude. She then spoke to the owner about me in another language, very overtly being nasty, and said that her work is as important as the money I spent and I said yeah, but your work is subpar. So now I have to go spend more money somewhere else having the same thing repaired that I've already had repaired twice. Do not give these people your business, do not give them your money. Do not bring them your jewelry for repair. A terrible terrible experience. So disappointing. I gave them every chance to make it right and instead they were rude to me.y read more

They have gorgeous beads of every shape, color, style, you name it, to make jewelry. They have lovely pieces that are already made. Great prices on earrings with some great finds in the 3 for $35 rack. I think for every gift I got, I bought a little something for myself as well. I am already looking forward to visiting again and bringing a friend who has been seriously overpaying for his crystals and stones at a fancy store in the west valley. The prices here are excellent and Harish is quite the deal maker. The more I bought, the better the pricing he gave me. I had a necklace that needed repair and went in to see if they could fix it. All that was needed was a simple loop and the know-how/tools to connect two pieces. The gentleman who helped me was very nice and did not even charge me. I am taking off one star because I had to ask him to wear his mask. The sign at the door clearly states that masks are required for customers. There were two other customers in the store. One wearing a mask, one not wearing a mask. I was happy that the owner put on his mask which made me more comfortable. read more

Wow-what a horrible experience... First of all, it was 100' in the store with no air conditioning at all. Then the store owner followed me and my fiancés every move around the store. Like a creep! It was so uncomfortable!! My fiancé ended up stepping out of the store from this behavior.. Then the owner continued to follow me around the store. So I decided not to buy anything from this weirdo. I was so shocked, I had to write a (an unfavorable) review. I brought my necklace in. The woman told me it would be $10 to fix. Then she called and said it would $15 that she had to REPLACE everything (except the stone of course). I said okay. When I picked it up, the repair charges went up another $5. We are not talking about a lot of money, of course. But it is the principle. The second time I wore the necklace, it slid off from around my neck. I looked at it closely with a friend and we decided I should take it back. I took it to back and the woman told me she could repair it. I asked if she could do it right then and she said no. Then I said will the repair be free? She said, "No!" She didn't even look at it! In looking at it closely it seems one of the pieces she replaced was broken. Poor quality. So even though I liked the store, they were nice and had a lot of cool stuff, I won't be going back there if they can't stand behind their work. A friend of mine bought a couple of chakra bracelets at the same time. When I told her about my experience, she told me her bracelets broke. I told her not to bother taking them back! read more

This is my favorite shop for crystals and gems. It's like finding a treasure chest to sort through jewels. You can customize and create your own jewelry or purchase items already made, all at a fair price, and not over market value like some other metaphysical stores in the area. I've known of Silver Sky since 1996 when I first started getting into making jewelry. Their store was off of Laurel Cyn. in North Hollywood. Hadesh & his sister Madue are the owners and have always been great with customer service. I've been making jewelry on and off throughout the years and every time I return, they are so gracious to help me with whatever I'm looking for whether it's gold filled or sterling silver wire or Simi precious stones. They sell beautiful strands of jelly opal which my daughter gifted me with as a birthday gift. I highly recommend stopping by if you are into making jewelry as a hobby or business. I echo what previous reviewers have said about their prices and discounts if you spend more. They are out to make their customers happy. Silver Sky is my #1 place to go for all my jewelry making needs. This is a follow up as of May 11th 2018 I'm so disappointed to have to write this review but it's to warn others that do business with Hadesh. I now live out in Santa Clarita and I wanted to continue giving my business to this brother and sister team instead of ordering from another vendor off the internet. I had my husband (since he worked in the area) pick up a small order from them worth $500. They didn't have the chain I wanted so Hadesh gladly said he would order it and send it to me. I had orders to fill and reluctantly agreed. When I finally received it I went about adding it to my inventory and noticed (since I work with chain a lot) that my order was very skimpy and not the correct color of the 14k gold filled chain. I decided to measure all the different chains I ordered and five out of seven were less by five feet and up to twelve. I was horrified that Hadesh would betray be and take advantage. It was well over a hundred dollars worth of chain he tried to rip me off from. The worst is when I went back to show him what he sent me, he didn't even deny it or apologize. Only his sister pleaded with me to still do business with them. I obviously can't trust their business practices so I graciously bowed out. If you decide to give them your business, you might be safe just buying strung stones but I would highly discourage anyone from purchasing materials that have to be counted or cut. If you do and have the time (which I don't have) count and measure everything before leaving their shop. read more

Wow! I walked in yesterday and thought I had gone to gem stone heaven. If I'm going to make a necklace I want the good stuff and previously I've had to have it shipped from India or China and wait while it makes it through customs. This place had it all -- I bought emerald, ruby, garnet, moonstone, labradorite and pearl beads! All at a great discount price offered by the owner (everything was 50% off yesterday!) Way better pricing than anything you'd find on Etsy and also better pricing than other shops like Bead Source. If you live on the other side of the hill, well worth the drive. If I was rich I would have bought some of their London blue topaz beads or opals. They even had rough diamond beads. Simply gorgeous, AAA quality. Silver Sky is by far the best bead store in Los Angeles. You won't believe how much product they have. If they don't have it, the owner Harish said she would order it. This place really has everything and all I can say is seeing is believing. And the customer care is fantastic. I am going to take a class too, and looking forward to it. read more
