This is the first time I have ever written a Yelp review but I felt it was serious and rude enough to merit it. I took my engagement rings to her to have engraved as my wedding is next weekend and destination. I also took a locket as a present to my mother in law for the same engraving. Simple, right? WRONG. First of all, Dana's energy is not positive like one person above has clearly lied about. She has a nervous fidgety weasely energy and I should have trusted my gut on this one because this was my first impression and I gave her my rings anyway. As an example I showed her the engraving in my Neil Lane engagement ring, which is large, legible, and done perfectly. She fidgeted around a bit as I told her both the ring and the locket were extremely important to me and I wanted to make sure they are done right. She assured me they would be perfect and I left my rings and came back a week later (today) to pick them up. When I saw what she did to both the locket and ring I was appalled. First of all the locket has a FLAT surface on the back so you would think she could get this right. No chance. The writing was the smallest most illegible, wonky, scritch scratch I have every seen. And to be honest I am usually very easy to please, but I had to ask her to use her jewelry magnifier to I could read it and I could barely make out the words even with the magnifier. Its as if her depth perception was writing on a grain of rice. NOW FOR THE WORSE news- SHE RUINED MY FIANCES ENGAGEMENT RING. The word "My" was clearly misspelled as "MH". Now I start to get hot and sweat and I could feel my tears starting to well up. So I said this is really bad and illegible. And I am not happy. So you know what she says to me? "I think its great". So i reply, with all due respect I am the customer and you spelled the word "MY" wrong and I am very dissatisfied. And the writing tapers off to one side. Again she gets more defensive and launches into a narrative about how shes been a gemologist for 25 years etc etc. So I calmly, again fighting back tears, say- look this is really bad craftsmanship and its misspelled and this is my fiances wedding ring and I was expecting the letters to be legible and one is misspelled. So she looks at it again and said no its not. In her defense it was ant sized so it could have said God Save the queen and I wouldnt be able to argue it with her. Mind you I have 20 20 vision and she wears glasses. So she huffs around and says fine come back next week I will polish it out. So basically half way admits to her error and offers to wipe the ring clean. This is a process now that makes my brand new gold ring lose value and gold weight. So I said "I cannot do that my wedding is next week and I am gone". So at this point I am expecting her to apologize and at least admit fault and realize the error in her ways of dealing with an unhappy customer and offer to not charge me for the horrible shotty work. Instead she says I dont know what you want me to do. "I think its fine and you cannot really see it anyway." Really lady?! Thats supposed to make me feel better. If i could show you Yelp readers a pic of the wonky sideways engraving she has done to ruin my fiances ring- any bride at this point would have flipped out, especially a week before her wedding day. So as she gets more aggressive, and fidgety and her energy gets more aggressive towards me and THEN her GIANT GERMAN SHEPARD jumps up on the counter and she does nothing to bring him down. So now I am in tears, with a stubborn rude salesperson, and a 176 lb dog percherd to attack me. And no offer to not charge or fix the situation. And mind you, I am the one who is speaking calmly to her! So defeated, I said "let me just pay for the locket and I will leave and never come back here but I am absolutely going to write a yelp review about this." MY ONLY SOLACE AT THIS POINT. So she LAUGHS and says "fine!", again no apology or offer to fix it, and i am in tears at this point. SO I STILL LET THIS EVIL WITCH INTIMIDATE ME, and CHARGE ME and then I leave and burst into tears. Lesson learned, this woman is wicked, her large dog may or may not intimidate and attack you (mind you I am 100lbs so I offer no intimidation factor back, and I am left in tears before my wedding. MORAL OF THE STORY- DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT PURCHASE OR HAVE THIS WOMAN ENGRAVE OR FIX ANY OF YOUR JEWELRY. HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THREAT OF PHYSICAL VIOLENCE FROM A LARGE ANIMAL. read more
