One of my favorite bookshops in the world!!! They have the best comics, zines, graphic novels, and prints. Everyone there is super friendly and cool. Amazing selection of authors and artists. Silver Sprocket is the best

A mini book w/ amazing illustrations made by a local? Not sure but I love stuff like this lol

This place has so many graphic novels and comics for all! Even kids! The employees are really sweet, and there are even places to sit and enjoy the space. They even sell local and non-local artists' works. Items are decently priced, which is also a plus. Really enjoy the vibe in here. If I had the time, I would be in here for hours looking through everything.

Eclectic and wide selection of comics, especially from queer and POC creators. It's so fun to get to walk by the shelves and check out what they have in stock.

A comfy haven for queer and/or POC-centered zines, comics, stickers, posters, sweaters, and tees. They stock a diversity of authors, ranging from little known local submissions to Junji Ito, which always makes for a fun experience and constantly changing merchandise. The small seating area in the back is wonderful for browsing the selection, which is usually irreverent, leftist, and politically charged. Perfect!

The Silver Sprocket is a Zine store with graphic novels and alternative press publications. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are also authors and writers. I am in the process of putting out volume one of my memoirs of time abroad in India. Got some good tips from staff here. I also checked out some publications related to memoir and travel. They have some really cool unique publications here. This store is very DIY and punk rock. This store replaces 1-2-3-4 Go Records yet there Oakland branch is still open for music lovers. Zines and music make the world beautiful. Support local businesses!

at first, i was a bit confused since i mistook this store for a walk-in shop and didn't know about…read morethe pickup deal. i didn't have an exact product in mind, but i settled on pokemon cards before the person in front of me was done. the man (or possibly owner?) was really helpful and engaged a lot with customers to make sure he knew what they wanted or what they were inquiring. im just a hobbyist card collector, so i didn't know what specific series of cards i was looking for, and he just suggested the cheapest ones, which were what i was going for. initially i was nervous and didn't know if there was a pack limit, but he clarified its just so people don't buy out the entire stock (which is very good for business, since it happens all too often at retail spaces!) even if you don't have an order or know the exact product to the precise detail you want, staff is very helpful in giving you options :) a nice place that id stop by every week if i were local!!

Where do I even start? Husband and I were trying to get…read moresome cards. Never heard of this store so we decided to check it out. It's online order only and you can't go inside. The employee seemed offended that we didn't know the process and told us they did pickup only. Not once did he inform us on the actual website. Secondly the employee from the back came out to "answer" our questions, which he also was offended we were inquiring about a set that came out 6 weeks ago. He informed us we were "6 weeks late". He then proceeded to tell us incorrect information about the sets. Which feels was done on purpose. Pricing? These are scalpers, unauthorized resellers. These are the kind of people that weigh/scan packs and open all the hits. They were showing us set boxes with the shrink wrap missing, but were selling it to us at scalper pricing. (Meaning they weren't doing that thing were target rips open the shrink wrap so only collectors buy)

Finding a bookstore in San Francisco can be a challenge depending which side of city you are and…read morewhat you are looking for as far as subject matter. There are various bookstores which face the street sidewalks of San Francisco and are easy to enter and exit. There is a bookstore in San Francisco which is hidden from the public side walk and accessible through a mall on the second floor. It's located inside the Japan Center in Japantown and it's called Kinokuyina. On a Spring stroll inside Japan Center I landed inside Kinokuyina. In the land of the rising sun Kinokuyina is a bookstore was founded in 1927 in Japan and turns 100 years next year. This San Francisco location is the first in the USA which opened since 1969. They have other locations such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore,Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Inside you will find lots of books in Japanese Kanji and English Manga. They also sell lots of novelties and t-shirts. This a great international bookstore in San Francisco. It's almost Summer say bye to the month of "May" they have a location in San Francisco another down the road by San Tomas Expressway in "San Jose "they have lots books of "display" from manga to "anime" Come visit they have books for any age "group "you can find magazines with the latest "scoop"so you can stay in the "loop" and you can even find a book like some in SF about "poop"

Compared to the one in L.A., this location is much more organized and the staff seem friendly. They…read morealso have more of the Japanese culture vibes at this location. Like you see more Japanese writing on the walls and signs. They also have a much larger variety of magazines and books here. As with all bookstores, they do sell a lot of plushies and toys here. Saw a lot of Pusheen stuff. There's also a lower level that's dedicated entirely to Manga. And it looks like a pretty huge collection. So I would say this location is maybe 40% reading books, 40% Manga, toys, and gifts and 20% magazines. Or, you can come visit and check it out yourself. There's cute things here worth checking out.
